¡Would be nice to have an update! Your impressions after those years, any other changes happened... I am in the process of changing my embouchure myself, started yesterday. Today i've been able for the first time to get a buzz out of the mouthpiece, the way youre suggesting in the exercise.
Update: after a lot of experimentation, and some weeks of not getting out any sound and being for days unable to play and connect notes, i've crafted an embouchure that is working, not only more comfortable than before, but also much optimal (less change between registers). I reccomend everyone to give it a try to any transformation with no fear, and keep searching for their personal way.
How can you describe the process? And how long did it take you to get back to a comparably similar level to what you were at before the change? I have had a teacher who made me change embouchure. It got better for a while, but now it feels like I would need some fine tuning. I'm just concerned because it would affect my course (music degree, 2nd year) and I'm not sure If I can go through 6 months of rehab again. My current teacher is not one of those chop doctors (even though he's a very good teacher), but I'd like to get back to him after some school break with a better embouchure. Any suggestions?
Cola96K this is still me, just another youtube account, but i say just form an embouchure and just blow through the mouth piece. The u bus at a comfortable level for you and then throw it on the horn. Now just do long tones, and stop whenever you feel any tension. Try to stand on your skeleton. (Think about that last sentence)
