That was my thought when I considered making this kind of video too. The information is still useful as a reminder to those that will watch it though so not all is lost.
One thing I will add on the usage of smoke; Smoke shells used at the higher tiers by vehicles like the IPM1 start paying off if you do need to perform a covered advance or flank an annoying enemy. While a lot of people I’ve seen get annoyed by my liberal usage of smoke shells, I’ve seen more matches won than lost because I smoke known sniping positions into uselessness and allowing my team to get map control. While smoke on the enemy means you can’t kill them, it also means they have to shift to a different position where their advantage isn’t as best as it would have been. The ridge lines overlooking Poland’s lake, for example, are infamous for having crest firing lines to stop advances through the south, but chucking smoke shells into these known positions just forces enemy tanks to sit there until the smoke dissipates (because smoke shells block thermals), or go somewhere else. But you’ve hit nearly every other basic tip that should be conveyed to players. Great video, looking forward to the next one.
@@swordsman1_messer i usually take smoke shells. I've hit on this in some previous videos although didn't really cover it here, but Smoke is a lot more effective the closer you put it to the enemy. It basically boils down to, if you smoke yourself, the area you can be is pretty small, but if you fill the enemy screen with smoke, you can basically be anywhere on their screen and they won't see you.
Pretty good video. I'd just like to add that smoke shells weren't covered, which is why I'll add a few points of my own around their use: 1. Do: -Use them offensively. If you know the range to an enemy, and that enemy is imminently going to gain a better position where he can shoot you or multiple of your teammates without presenting his tank to effective fire, hit him with the smoke. This will deny that position to him. -If you can get to a better position to affect multiple of the enemy team, but don't have the cover to reach that position safely, fire smoke ONLY between enemy sightlines and YOUR tank's direct sightline. If both you and your teammates will be blocked from firing at the enemy, you weren't flanking at a hard enough angle to create problems for the enemy team anyway. Move to a more aggressive position. -If enemy tanks are known to be flanking your team and you know where they are, but ABSOLUTELY know that your team does not have fire superiority (not enough tanks to respond quickly enough, or the team is busy engaging something else) it's worth it to fire a few smoke shells at key positions where they can shoot multiple of your team, but leave sightlines where only you can be seen by that enemy. That way your team can safely wrap up whatever it was they were doing, and you can fend off the attack after the first smoke shell in an isolated fight while protecting your teammates.
At least for month there will be a lot of new players with there shiny new premium and i kid you not my whole team tryd to take B and died and only 2 of us were left. Gotta love the sales...
About smoke, sometimes it can do more damage. It can help in open space, but in city, between buildings, my God... when some pop smoke I want to back up, I can't see where to go. Also, situation from few days ago, start of a battle, idiot (I must call him idiot), as soon as battle starts he poped smoke and after every few seconds (time to reload smoke) he pops another one. Us who are going behind him, can not see where to go, we hit rocks, trees, colide with each other. Just because one idiot pop smoke for fun.
Thank you Semi for the informative video. I've been grinding China 8.0 and I'm thankful that I get to support Russia more often than Nato nations. Russia only really has smoke on bmps and the later mbts while Nato has access to smoke from the get go and man it gets old so fast when you scratch them and they pop an entire screen only to get shot at anyway.
3:43 Side note, still waiting on the fix to that hydraulic pump on the Abrams along with its turret ring needing to be volumetric and fixed. The hydraulic pump is suppose to be in the engine not in the hull as that's the reservoir. You were able to easily hit the "hydraulic pump" and disable its horizontal. Both reports have been acknowledged but yet to be implemented.
Too bad people who actually needs this won't watch it.
Sadly Semi is not big enoth yet to reach the intended audience.

lets help them see this - comment like subscribe lol

And there’s a reason I survive longer and do better by myself then actually help my team.
I don’t have my enemies in blue doing this sh**.
Bad smoke use triggers me so hard. Especially when it gets me killed or stops me from killing someone.

And not to mention PzBtl 123 being on sale too…
Please make a top tier review for Sweden or Japan, if you can
most of the time they smoke because they are looking for their safe space
