Yelp... It definitely did help, but I made a fatal error. And please correct me if I'm wrong. I bought an NVme sad and actually needed to buy a "sata" m.2 ssd. The one I bought will not read in the dock on the very left hand side and will only work if I replace the NVme that came with the laptop by default. And I don't think I want to go through the pain of migrating data to the new one. So. Of to the returns in amazon.com. lol hopefully I get it right the next time. But thank you for all the help thus far. I am very greatful.

Aight so here is the thing. I know that I need a m. 2 sata do you have any recommendations? I heard that crucial mx500 was pretty good for that specific slot
The crucial is a pretty good deal as it’s the same read and write speed of the 860 evo but less cost. If you’ve got the budget I would put a 970 Evo Plus for the NVME slot and put the crucial in the sata slot. For mine it’s just a WD Blue sata ssd and a 1tb 2.5 inch WD blue hdd. This is mostly because WD is super cheap here compared to Crucial and Samsung

I actually experienced many random freeze screen even though I use my laptop for browsing only like Facebook and youtube. I also tried to use warranty but still I experiencing a freeze screen. This happened with me only when I use brave browser, so if you using brave delete it. Hope it may help you
can one put XPG SX8200 Pro PCIe M.2 SSD in M.2 slot which is SATA? since my other NVME slot is already occupied.. thanks in advance, Great video!
I added an nvm ssd to the wrong slot. Flipped them around and now it won't power on saying no bootable devices. Was I suppose to clone something? The computer worked with them the first time but didn't recognize new ssd
An nvme shouldn't be able to fit in the wrong slot as it's missing one of the notches....
Have you gone into the bios to choose which drive you're booting from? It might be trying to boot from the new blank drive.
is Adata a good ram? thinking about buying kingston or gskill but it's more expensive
My laptop is using 32gb of Adata 3200mhz. It's not a bad brand, like I mainly use my laptol to render video and 3d files
I bought a crucial cl19 2666mhz 8gb ram as an upgrade. Its not working alongside the stock ram. What's wrong? Is it a compatibility issue?
Try with just the crucial stick first. It could be that they don’t want to work with each other

Correct you need an m.2 SATA SSD. Instead of the 1 notch on the part you insert like on an nvme, it has 2.
For speed most people get a Samsung Evo 860 as it has proven fast and reliable. Like if you're loading up large files, games, video editing 4k/8k.
If you're just doing normal day to day stuff like checking email or web browsing you won't really notice any difference on the speed of the drive.
I would just get something that is able to last. Solid state drives can only read/write so many times before they fail(like many MacBooks) and buy it from an official seller as there are a lot of fake storage devices with fake storage amounts.
I like Adata & WD, so far their stuff has been very reliable for me and at a good price. Not sure if it helps with the price but in Malaysia there is a WD factory.

Bro, I have same laptop, I just to add a new m.2 nvme crucial p5 plus ssd, but I already have a m.2 nvme pcie kingston a200 series 250 gb ssd, and it is installed in m.2 pcie slot, (Ram side),
Now I want to change this ssd to slot 2 which is also m.2 slot but there is written in motherboard SATA. and this also has one key(M key no B key have)
But when I insert this ssd in slot sata there is no serial number showing in bios, on existence showing bios, and this ia also boot device

I’m a bit confused how you put the nvme drive into the sata slot with there not being the other keyway there. 😅 you’d need an m.2 sata drive with the two keyways for the sata slot. The protocol between sata and NVME are different, a sata m.2 can be used in either slot as it’s older tech, but the nvme can only go into the nvme slot.
It’s like trying to play a PS5 game on a PS3

You took out the old ssd and put it right back in...
This is because I wasnt actually changing mine but just responding to a question from my previous video. I already had a 512GB ssd and 32gb of ram.
Can I add nvme PCie SSD to the second M.2 slot? I ask it for standard AN515-43. On some videos they saying you can only add Sata SSD to second m.2 slot
It depends if you already have an nvme drive in one of the slots. There is one Nvme slot, one M. 2 sata, and the sata for the hdd

Currently I’m using that as my boot drive in the NVMe Slot and a WD Blue 1tb hdd to store all my bigger files
So the first drive was a sata ssd in nvme port?
The one next to the ram is the nvme m.2. The slotting is different on the drives. NVMe isn’t compatible with the sata slot because it’s missing a notch (this is so you don’t put it I the wrong slot)
Does this model support nvme and other ssd's too? Or we just have to use a Sata ssd?

@@jhonsafy7529 No NVMe won't work in the SATA slot. You'll have to use M.2 Sata stick.
did you disconnected battery while doing this?
You should disconnect the battery and discharge the rest of the power by pressing the power button. I can’t remember if I had for the video

There is one nvme port and one normal m. 2 as for capacity I think it all depends on the drive you put

How much capacity ssd you got by default in your system as mine one was non ssd varient
@@PiyushPisu hmmm if it’s formatted and has windows installed properly should boot. Maybe try taking it out and reseating the drive. Or do a hard shutdown by holding the power button until it turns off completely and then turn it back on
Bro mine screen gets black after i put my WD m2 nvme 250Gb ssd in slot....

Have you tried taking it back out? In my case the nvme is my boot drive. It might go black if it doesn’t have a copy of windows installed on that drive.😅
I’ve also run into an issue before if windows was trying to install itself onto a drive where it would shut off the back light to the screen but still show the images.
Have you tried holding a flashlight up to the screen to see if anything was there?
My m.2 evo didn't show up as a drive available what did i do wrong? Further more why does this video have a hard time playing?
Have you updated to the latest bios? If you have, check to make sure that the drive is seated properly and inserted into the correct slot, one is for regular sata m.2 and the other is for nvme. If it’s in the correct slot and making good contact try to insert in to another computer or external adapter and format it as fat 32, exfat or ntfs. If it was previously formatted into an Apple HFS or APFS it will not be able to read on a windows machine.
@@AhhSamboi dang. I already took it back and got a samsung t7 external drive lol. Which does write/read fast using usb c. I was able to transfer 50gigs of info the computer to that in under 8mins i believe. How do i go about updating the bios?
Isaypreach to update bios you go to the Acer website and search for you model on their support page. There should be a downloads section where there is a bios installer you can download. For the video card firmware you gotta go and download the AMD application from their website. This can control fan speeds and graphics for gaming and apps that are heavily GPU based

Slot and my sata m.2 slot is free my laptop is working very slow i think i need to upgrade my ssd can you suggest any ssd that would fit in to my sata m.2 slot in acer nitro 5 an515-43 also i have one nvme m.2 ssd can i use it in my sata slot and could you please confirm whether this laptop has sata 3 slot or not if yes than will it support the same nvme m.2 ssd in sata 3 slot if not than any link of ssd for my sata slot also if possible any ram for this same laptop that would really help currently its using one 8 gb ram of Kingston and i want one more ram of 8 gb is it good to have ram of same type please help thanks in advance and one last question is it necessary to upgrade both ram and ssd if i don't need more storage but my current ssd if is only 27 gb free
When was the last time you changed your thermal paste?
Mine was running slow lately because the thermal paste became hard and it wasn't cooling properly.
As for ram I would try to get 32gb of 3200mhz (the most this laptop supports last I checked) 8gb is barely enough to use Chrome nowadays.
Mine is using 2 sticks of 16gb Adata 3200mhz.
If your storage is close to full it could be slowing down your system as well. If this is the case I would install a large capacity HDD for files like videos and photos that take a lot of space
Does gloves really help to discharge static electricity or does it prevent the laptop from receiving static electricity damage?? Also if it does which gloves do you reccomend? Pls reply
Honestly I just use gloves out of habit.
My hands always sweat or get really dirty when doing things so I just wear gloves😅.
As for type, any powder free examination glove. Either nitrile or latex. The latex ones I used in the video were just a cheap local brand 100 pcs for RM20 I also have other ones that I enjoy using more but those are for doing tattoos generally. They are thicker and don’t break as easily.

FBINUGGET 21 my tabletop is wood, but the legs are metal. I usually touch the leg to discharge any static I may have.

This depends which socket is occupied there is one for a standard m.2 and one for an nvme

@@hhggg677 the NVME one is the one on the right hand side of the board if i remember correctly. the one further away from the hdd area. if you look on the board itself one should say sata, and the other nvme.

It’s pretty identical for removing the bottom of the laptop.
After that you just look for the ram and SSD slot
But if I did that , it will affect the warrenty bro..

Mine did not have them.
If you do not want to void the warranty you have to go to an Acer service center.
With all honesty though, when I had gone to the service center here they told me to just do it myself and save money as the instructions for user upgrades were online.
Additionally the warranty mine came with is only one year and only covers manufacturing defects.
Outside of those you would still have to pay for any service performed.
If you weren’t meant to upgrade the computer, why would they give you instructions and the parts/ability to upgrade it?
When I first got mine I had wish a little that I’d gotten the one with the Nvidia graphics as you can upgrade the screen to a 120hz panel.
Holy crap, do not repeat after the author of the video. First you need to disconnect the battery. Having seen enough of such "collective farmers", people break motherboards without even realizing it. And then they are surprised at the cost of repairs.
Yeah I forgot to unplug the battery. This is my personal laptop and warranty is already ended with no issues.
Issues arise when you short something or have static. I was just responding to a persons question on where and how to remove the ram and SSD. Previous video I did disconnect the battery

Yes it will work. But if your currently has an ssd you may need to copy it onto the NVME or change which drive it boots from in the bios
