I have done and I have watched so many problems regarding slope and deflection in beams using Macaulay's method and I am not able still to know when to add an imaginary load....Under what cases/conditions do I need to add an imaginary ma'am?

@AKOLTGIIR, from the examples ive come across, imaginary udl is added when the udl does not span through the beam or a single end....hope its cleared!

The integration should have (x-5)⁴/4 and not (x-5)⁴/3
