Hi. Any update on the smoothie recipe yet?

Going through Crohn's and would really like to see that smoothie recipe to try it at home. It's been almost a year, any idea when this could be available? Unfortunately I have severe negative reaction to any commercial EEN formulas, most likely due to the maltodextrin.

You might look into Kate Farms - EEN formula without maltodextrin

@@eddiecarmody9383 unfortunately, the product does not comply with the specific carbohydrate diet. The only natural ingredients in that product appears to be water. Although the cost may be covered by a prescription by the doctor, It's safer to use natural ingredients using a Vitamix or high blend blender. Simple. Safe.

@@eddiecarmody9383 yep, just a few days ago I ordered it from the US - unfortunately here in the EU, it has nonsensical costs as its super complicated to bring them in from the US - I had to pay 500 euros for 4 days worth of EEN.. so just going to try it out and have to figure out a way to bring them in without paying a fortune.. even though I have state health care here in Spain, the only thing they would be willing to pay for is Modulen

Dr Dale Lee's EEN recipe was published today!!!! His presentation, "Exclusive Enteral Nutrition for Crohn’s Disease. (using Specific Carbohydrate Diet)" ruclips.net/video/s1LaUPTfHzQ/видео.html
      Conclusion
A whole-food blended smoothie was effective for inducing clinical remission and decreasing FCP in pediatric CD similar to commercial EEN formulas. Further research may give insight into data-driven whole-food dietary approaches for CD management.
In conclusion, a whole-food, home-blended formula was well tolerated and effective at inducing clinical and biochemical remission of pediatric CD in this pilot study. This is the first whole-food, home-blended approach to EEN to date and suggests that EEN may not require commercial formula. Notably, gut microbiome diversity as measured by species richness was increased with the whole-food formula, whereas commercial formula is associated with decreased diversity. In future studies, an age-matched control arm will facilitate greater understanding about the tolerability and efficacy of this whole-food formula approach to EEN. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/jpn3.12196?fbclid=IwAR2qkWeM3hynoTpMlxDvZbhSpsqMBSn49KxhTT8tkAeKE8a_EjMfLGfCCoY
Please refer to the "supporting information" you will find at the end of the study with vitamin mineral and other charts to review including the recipe.
