What ever you do don’t follow the steps he said about bending the lip of that pioneer speaker basket! This will undoubtedly impact your speakers output if your not careful you could damage the voicecoil too.
Bending the frame could in some cases distort the rubber surround of the speaker which is directly connected to the cone which all sits on the voice coil causing a slight shift in the coil could lead to rubbing(ask me how I know lol trust)
My advice is to use a dremel with the cut off wheel to make those notches for the mounting holes or if the box itself has a lot of meat on the bone, just shave the plastic down, avoid bending the lip basket of your new subwoofer. It could not effect it a whole lot but if your like me and mistakes do happen you could be doing this job twice lol
Oh and before i forget id like to add one more PRO TiP: anytime you are using the dremel around any type of speaker, this means sparks are going flying right ? This means tiny metal fragments and particle size pieces are going to be airborne and go where potentially ? Right onto the magnet of your nice new speaker or worse case the metal shavings get sucked right into the coil gap of the speaker and then you can kiss the speaker goodbye, so to prevent this from happening be sure you wrap the entire bottom of the speaker off, what I like to usually do is get masking tape and go to town on that thing to ensure no parts are left exposed besides for the area I’m focusing on cutting😁 this applies also to the cone surface I cover that up as well because the metal pieces are annoying to get off after. Sorry didn’t mean to talk poorly on your diy project i actually really like this and wish my car had a factory sub box like these

You need 2 10s in a proper box minimum.

Make sure you seal the backside of the sub basket to the enclosure. sounds like a lot of leakage in the demo

It needs to be sealed, but as I state in the video I am testing the sub with and without polyfill

Hello, as the car has two wires you install the double coil Pioneer, ok to me... but what about the JL Audio? seems that is inly one coil drive. Do you think the difference in cost worth it?

It marks as 4 ohm it seems to me you would have to get the two positive leads and put on the positive side and get the two negative leads and put negative that is how It will work. In my opinion pioneer is good and affordable and has a good bass if you want JL audio it's just preference people would get it for a future setup to go in sync with a 2 channel or 4 channel setup I think the Pioneer is perfect choice give it a shot , Amazon has a 30 day policy if you don't like the sub just return it !

Hi. Why did you change the audio system ? The original bo wasnt goof enough ?

I only changed the Subwoofer I have not checked the other speakers for quality, I had noticed when I bought my Dark Horse the bass from the rear truck could barely be heard, so I went ahead and investigated and I went to mustang6g forums and heard that the previous B&O systems that was on the S550s that there were Paper Cone and Small cheap Magnet. It looks cheap and sounds cheap Now that I upgraded to the pioneer I have no issues for sure now! You can hear the Bass, like I've been telling people you can include a small amp and tap into the sub but idk if I would do that more wires to hide, more weight more money , I'm all about clean and hidden or OEM looking installs now, back in the day I didn't care so I always had custom boxes with subs and amps in all my vehicles, I did this small upgrade cause I wanted to see if it was true about the small paper cone B&O Sub and it turns out it was true ! Thanks for commenting!

@@CruisinCapturesjust a weak small magnet sub. Some of the best subs in the world use paper cones believe it or not

@@chandlercameron9977 hate to break it to you Mr Chandler, this sub in this car this paper sub and weak magnet ain't worth a flip , says 40 pages of over hundreds & thousands of s550s owners and the proof is in the forums with others agreeing of the sound they are getting from there b&o system. Proof is there !

@CruisinCaptures that's wtf I'm saying😂 I literally said it has a tiny magnet. Just saying even some good subs have paper cones this one ain't no good tho. Fuckin chill out seems like you didn't really even read my comment😂 ik it ain't worth a shit and neither is the air space provided that's why I suggest a small sub in its small ported or sealed box

Is the B&O worth the price to upgrade a 2024? Does the regular 9 speaker system suck that bad?

@@cliffmorrison1130 I mean I can tell you the Bose system sounds better in my opinion than a B&O but later on my goal is to purchase some Focal speakers for the doors and rears and new tweeters but I'll leave as is I mean the car does have warranty still and until the day it stops then yeah
