@@markcook9084Don’t forget, his short irons are all the length of a 7 iron and the lofts are at least 2 degrees strong also. Together with his elevated swing speed, his irons are going to go enormous distances, it’s no great mystery! With the shafts Bryson has in these clubs, very few touring pros would even be able to get the ball off the ground!

Honestly, the numbers are pretty close if you take loft into account. Bryson's 5 wood has about the same loft as Garrett's 3 wood and the carry is...5 yards different. Bryson's 4/5 iron has probably a pretty similar loft (17°) to Garrett's 3 iron and the difference is...6 yards, with Garret actually being further. The video is more of how far do Bryson and Garrett hit the club they call their __ iron/wood. Interesting none the less!
@Luke-uw6dpBryson uses 6i length shafts across the board tough, and that is a HUGE difference,he would still hit it further regardless but not that much. would've been nice seeing them change clubs
@Luke-uw6dp I'm not saying Bryson wouldn't hit it further cause he obviously would, garret's driver ball speed is in the 190s Bryson in the 210 maybe more, but you can't argue that Garrett would hit bryson's short irons longer than his own, I mean between the jacked lofts and the shaft length it just makes sense, you said he hit his 9i 211,he did but his 9 has a 6i shaft ,
Bryson's clubs are numbered according to spin rate. So he's hitting traditional 3i distance but with 5i spin rates with his 5i. That's a huge advantage into the green. Swing speed, brother.
I'm honestly just surprised the differences are not larger, given a 25+mph differential in driver ball speed. Btw Bryson's 6 iron has 21° of loft which is much closer to Garrett's 4 iron. When you look at those numbers the difference is...7 yards
I agree loft is loft, but the best players in the world like him have to take into account how the flight/spin/ and reaction when it lands. Brysons PW will fly as high, spin, and react on a green just like a PW that’s a higher loft for someone like Cantlay. Bryson trains to hit the ball farther with the drivers and woods to get advantages, the other clubs he’s having to “re-loft” so they can fly, spin, and react on greens like standard golf clubs are supposed to. He swings that fast. For context, if all of your clubs were just renamed 1 less club “says 9i but is a actual PW” and you went to get fitted, the fitter would say “your 9-iron has way too much spin and you’re flying it way too high, then you’d counteract that with de-lofting the clubs, or putting a shaft in that is heavy enough to slow down the speed. In Brysons case he is an order of magnitude of about 1 club faster than the golf shafts that the speeds only made for pro players use. So they can’t help him get the spin and height correct with standard shafts (that’s my opinion) so he uses heavy graphite shafts and de lofts the clubs so he can hit and hold greens correctly. Not to mention he has a top 5 in the world short game. My point is don’t just think, oh I’d hit shots exactly like Bryson if I used his clubs… lol
@@mattbrown6392 bryson isn't that much faster than most tour pros who play regular lofted irons. His science bag is because he does hit it hard but also because his wedges are the length of a 7 iron. His one length crap seems to create way more of a headache to just hit a regular shot that a regular length and lofted club does already even at his speed. Bryson just needs to call the clubs what they are and not say my nine is your 8 junk
@@cichlidman09 that’s one way to look at it I guess. He’s technically quite a bit faster than other tour players when it comes to distance off the tee… so that should translate a good bit to other clubs for gapping distances. Also the technique he uses with the 1 length clubs which you refer to as a “junk” excuse has won the guy 10s of millions literally by playing golf with that technique. There’s more than 1 way to win for sure. But if you hate it so much, you should go compete and beat him, then tell him why it’s junk.
@@mattbrown6392 my only point is he is comparing yardages to Garrett is not apples to apples. Especially as it was mainly as a look at how awesome I am compared to this regular human when in all reality if they both hit Garrett's clubs it wouldn't be so drastically different. Can also think his one length stuff is junk and unnecessary and know he's an all time pro golfer.
@@cichlidman09 that’s the video they should have done lol. Both hit the same clubs and see what happens lol. Or both try to hit the other guys’ clubs too. That would clear up a few things. It would be dumb of him to go out of his way to use a style that wouldn’t help when golfers need to win to be relevant, but crazier things do happen with athletes.
awesome video, too bad they got rid of the trackman, either elevation was set to way above sea level or the full swing sim just is spitting out horribly inaccurate yardages
Bryson is using stronger lofted irons which is what I use when he mentioned that his p wedge loft is like a 9 iron and so forth. A lot of people would benefit from this as you would hit shorter shots into greens more often and hit your irons at least a club further. We can all use more distance anyway we can get it.
"We can all use more distance anyway we can get it" Most regular people. but does it benefit Bryson? He struggles from 140 in because his gaping is so messed up from the strong lofts. There is a reason Bryson is the only elite golfer in the world to use crazy strong lofts. Elite players usually want good gaping, not more distance with their irons
Yeah we’re approaching the point where “numbers” stamped on clubs are pointless. Irons especially only need the degrees of loft just like the five wedges we are all forced to carry because manufacturers keep jacking the lofts on iron sets. It’s stupid marketing. I’ve been playing golf 50 years and I’ve never seen such mass psychosis among players being absolutely obsessed with distance. I’m still playing Ping Eye 2’s from 1990.
The youtube golfer was hitting it a mile .. i was honestly surprised.. in contrast to other pro golfers he hits it as far if not further than most .. bryson is just a machine though .. breath of fresh air to the game
Garrett with the classic “I want to actually try to give it a go” and then we don’t hear anything about it for another year 😂 love ya G, but we all know this routine lol
Bryson labels his club numbers wrong. What hes calling his pitching wedge is his 9 iron (it spins 9000) and the club numbers go up from there. The only reason to label his clubs the way he does is to sensationalize his distances. It should be....60,56,50,PW,9,8,7,6,5,4. Pretty normal set up when you don't label your clubs wrong.
Seeing youtube guys hit it and call yardages is impressive. Watching the yardage for a hole being shown and then seeing a 2nd shot that is 200 (ex) to the hole, means a 480 yard hole with 200 yds to the hole = 280 drive not 360. It just doesn't add up sometimes. Watching Bryson carry 338 337 340 on the same holes all tournament isn't click bait.
all i know is my driver struggles to carry 280, my 4 iron struggles to carry 210, and my pitching wedge struggles to carry 140. sand wedge is like 113, my favorite club. this is the first year i've golfed more than 3 rounds in 20 years. and i've been watching all these videos and hitting some buckets and i was shooting a 125-130 at the start of the season, i just shot my best of 104 last time i went out. all my clubs are getting straighter and for the first time in 20 years i played 9 holes and didn't lose a ball.
Bryson says he’s a typical pro golfer then goes 2 minutes into detail about spin and apex. I love how this dude a nerd for his sport it’s passionate as fuck😂
I'm not saying this to be negative, but the technology has surpassed the courses. I'm glad that the ball rool back is happening so that the game is not too big for the course
Ok so this is mental. While he is hitting the ball a country mile the lofts tell a story. His 5 iron is my 1 iron if I had one. I so need new clubs, a new swing, a different body and rewind 30 years ❤
I really hope people aren't comparing these numbers to their own. I swing a driver at almost 130 mph/180 ball speed and I can 100% guarantee these numbers are inflated. Bryson was joking about it during the video, but that's why you only trust launch monitors like GC Quad that sit right next to the ball to provide you wiht accurate information.
The explanation of why Bryson has such cranked lofts makes no sense. I've heard him often say it's because he spins the ball so much, but changing what is written on the bottom of the club doesn't change launch characteristics. He says his pitching wedge (which is 2 degrees stronger than a standard players iron 9 iron) spins at 9000rpm (also what a tour player spins their 9 iron at) so putting a P on the bottom instead of a 9 is simply an exercise in ego. If he put a P on the bottom of his 45degree wedge, it will still perform the exact same as it does now, only difference is he can't enter dick measuring contests saying he hits it a club longer than everyone else.
GM is on the level of Standard Pro numbers I bet. This is more a flex than anything, but still good content. As someone that is using monitors for my own numbers more than ever, it’s fun to watch.
Those numbers are so cracked, his 3 wood isn't carrying 310 yards, he's lucky if it carries 240-250. His drive probably carries 265 in actuality, and judging from their videos.
Curious to know, would you say this sim is giving you unusually high ball speeds and that's what's causing the yardages to be a bit juiced? Considering the irons are giving out driver like smash factors, almost 170 ball speed on 6i etc seems a bit high no?
I have used many different simulators and launch monitors and my guess is they have the elevation setting wrong. Going from sea level to say Denver Colorado can make a pw fly 30 yards further. It's what many golf retail shops use to give people the misconception they are driving the ball further.
@@nomorenonsense yeah I get that, but my point is the ball speeds seem very high. Bryson's 9i at 152 ball speed and 1,46 smash, Garret's 7 iron at 142 with a 1.46 smash... Tour average for a 7 iron is 1.33 smash, john rahm's 7 iron is like mid 130s ball speed with a higher swing speed.

You can't help but like Bryson because of the love he has for the game and learning about it. If you want to watch pure joy he has a video when he is on a driving range talking about internal and external rotation.
Garrett hits the ball impressively far! And it's a smooth swing
GM gona take on WLD?🫣🤔
you don´t really believe those numbers do you :D 312 carry with his 3 wood......nope
@@maxpfundner2226 these are simulator yardages! They even said there normal yards man. Garrett literally said he would be happy with a 285 yard carry.
@maxpfundner2226 he still hits the ball far as hell, simulator or not.

Title says “stock yardages”
Bryson- “I’m gonna get after this one”
Garret- “I’m going to swing hard here”
This was such a motivating and informative video. As an active duty soldier golf has become my therapy and even when my brain wants to hit it a mile this helps me understand my place within each club! Plus that closing statement gives me hope!
Keep up the work! 💪
@@brysondechambeau thank you so much you are such an inspiration and I had the pleasure to meet you last month at Trump national, thanks for giving us, the little people some of your time. Blessings!
This gives me new even higher respect for Bryson. Dude is unreal
I absolutely love that my favorite pro (other than Mickleson) is friends and making content with my favorite RUclips golfer.
❤❤❤
We’re gonna compare our stock yardages. One swing in… speed challenge. I love it! Thanks for all the great content. It’s fun to see the collabs and also some more insight into your game.
I love how much of a golf nerd Bryson is. And it shows his understanding of all the mechanics it takes to be a pro.
Garrett, All your supporters should hold you to that. Two years of hard prep and you will turn Pro mate. You are just ready to hit the big time. Looking forward to it....
I'm in with Garrett trying to become a tour pro in 2-3 years. I hope someone like Bryson helps Garrett keep the confidence up during that time.
1000% not happening if he’s still doing his channel and good good regularly. Thousand other guys dedicating their lives to it practicing day in day out with lots to lose. It will never work unless he is 100% committed aka quitting making content for a couple years
@@pipedown7969 I believe that is what he is implying. He will rack up enough cash doing RUclips to take a break to go for highest-level play. The only way he’ll never regret is to try the tour, regardless of whether he makes it there.
@@pipedown7969 he could just shift all the content on his channel to practicing and training to become a pro which would be great content and maybe participate in good good one weekend out of a month if needed
@@pipedown7969George Bryan just made his first PGA appearance, still 100% committed to RUclips. Highly unlikely but not impossible
@@oliverson1256as much as i love george his place in that event is a novelty. He has not yet earnt his tour card. He is at q school. If he advances he gets korn ferry card and then has to grind against real golfers for a tour card. Thats where the real bottleneck is
Brysons numbers are insane and I'm taking nothing away from him but keep in mind his lofts. 40° PW I think and his 4 iron was 17°. Those are strong lofts, very strong.
I loved this video. You guys always make great content together, AND man that simulator is clean lol
Why don’t you just call the 45deg your pitching wedge and so forth so the lofts align with more traditional/normal lofts?
The clubs past it have a number on the club so it’s odd to call your club with p on it as a 9 iron
Well then on the broadcast they couldn’t say “Bryson has 210 yards to the pin, and he has pulled a 9 iron”. “Can you guys believe how much better and stronger players are today”. Meanwhile….the average scores in your aren’t much lower than they were 29 years ago. It’s stupid mind games. Dumb. Just play and shut up. It doesn’t matter how far you hit things. At all.
@@moogodwhat I mean is they’ve stamped P on a club that is 40deg loft. My P wedge is 46deg so he could just stamp P on his 45deg and everything else would align fairly normally.
@@markcook9084Don’t forget, his short irons are all the length of a 7 iron and the lofts are at least 2 degrees strong also. Together with his elevated swing speed, his irons are going to go enormous distances, it’s no great mystery! That 5 wood has 13 degrees of loft, which is 2 degrees less than the loft of a standard 3 wood. So it’s basically a 3 wood with a 5 on it, and his 3 wood is basically a driver with a 3 on it. He is one of the few people that can hit these clubs because of his extremely elevated clubhead speeds. With the shafts Bryson has in these clubs, very few touring pros would even be able to get the ball off the ground!
Just look at his wedge distances. The loft of his clubs don’t matter
I have noticed on a lot of the Crushers videos.......Bryson's ball doesn't register for ball tracking......usually the 1 woodrow! Love the encouragement! Played at Ft. Belvoir with two OLD guys when I was in my twenties......they were late sixties and early seventies. My buddy and I were smoked!!! The old guys hit it 180 yards every time....in the center of the fairway. Deadly near the greens and putting monsters. Hitting it far helps......but you need more than that!! I just try to have fun and get some exercise!
Great insight by Bryson. The knowledge this man provides is awesome. Also.. not sure if y’all are wearing mics but the audio quality is fantastic.
Brysons last couple lines are the key. Good job guys.
Totally agree with Bryson on the 5W from the rough. It's just easier to make good contact in tall/thick stuff compared to a 3i.
Very interesting. Always thought the main difference was dispersion but this is one of millions of things
Seeing the clubhead speed and ball speed would help put these figures in context. The distances here from Garret are way in excess of pga tour averages. Something has to be off with the launch monitor.
Standard Stock Pro Golfer is not the way to describe BD..but the most amazing thing about BD especially as of late is his touch with the wedges and putting..one of the best in the world..would love to see it in person
Garrett has the touch, if he can get the mental side dialed, you never know. Bryson's yardages are next level, but G can really put them out there.
Bryson as usual delivers with quality content. Thank you.
Garrett compresses the ball like crazy man.
Alternate title- Juiced Simulator Numbers. Longest Professional in Golf History vs. Longer than Average RUclipsr
😂😂😂😂 agreed
260 carry with a 3 iron with 4600 spin makes zero sense lol
So dumb. What is the point of this video. Entertained sure but clearly the aim may be jacked and his PW is not really a PW. I hit my 46 degree PW about 130-135 yards. Should I feel bad about that now?? What’s the point?
@@markcook9084 100% agree! I have a scratch friend who only hits his driver 250 but buddy he is accurate with every club! People are too hyped over distance and not accuracy/smart play
Bryson you're a great ambassador for Golf.
Never change.
It’s amazing to see such content … best ever in YT hemisphere 👍
Not sure why I’m writing this, on here but want to share.
I’m 42, English. Grew up watching Faldo at the Masters. Woods in his Prime, (🎉Only time my Dad would let me stay up late, Golf or Football (West Ham was the Golden Ticket)
Bryson not only changed my perception of golf but bought a new dimension to it. He should be playing all tournaments alongside the worlds elite, without exception. Irrespective of wealth, the best need to play the best. When does finance come before immortality? When do Majors come before wealth?
Would love to spend 5 minutes on the phone with this gent. To share my story…
jesus christ
the amount of happiness that i would experience every single day if i had access to one of these golf simulators....man, one can dream!
I love how Bryson immediately saw that the numbers were extremely exaggerated and just went with it. No chance garret can hit a 8 iron 194 without it being extremely delofted.
Or 3 wood 315 of the ground lol. Sim is just juiced
The sim they use in golf shops so you buy the clubs😂
@@BirdieBandits I remember when the nike vapor irons came out I went to a golf galaxy and hit a 7 iron like 215 on the simulator there multiple times. And that was back when I only hit my 7 iron 170-ish. There the sim being juiced, then there is that. lmao.
You have to check the elevation settings in the Sim if you want better accuracy. Some sims are set up with highest elevation making swings look juiced
can't fake ball speed, garret was hitting driver 189 ball speed. both were just swinging hard and striping it
Always enjoy the vibe Bryson and Garrett bring 🤙🏻
Garret has really matured through the years and not acting like a child as much I like it
Similar for Bryson :)
Enjoyed this gents, loved the constant chatter between you both
Awesome video Bryson. More of this!
Simulators set to the altitude of Mt. Fuji.
hundred percent
160 is a smooth 6 iron for me lol. 170 (straight hopefully) is me “going at it”. Lol. Impressive video fellas
I would love to this with Bryson, such a cool guy and seems so genuine
Honestly, the numbers are pretty close if you take loft into account. Bryson's 5 wood has about the same loft as Garrett's 3 wood and the carry is...5 yards different. Bryson's 4/5 iron has probably a pretty similar loft (17°) to Garrett's 3 iron and the difference is...6 yards, with Garret actually being further. The video is more of how far do Bryson and Garrett hit the club they call their __ iron/wood. Interesting none the less!
yea bryson doesnt hide that fact like some people do. number is just a number its all about the loft
Loft vs loft isnt as far off as it may seem. Bryson basically a club ahead starting at gap.
Hey your opinion is what it is. I won’t tell you one way or another. It would be dumb of him to go out of his way to use a style that wouldn’t help when golfers need to win to be relevant, but crazier things do happen with athletes.
Nothing average about either of these guys. Both are awesome.
The more I see Bryson on RUclips I like the dude more! Super chill guy
I love that stock yardage was out the window by 9 irons...relatable at any level
awesome video, too bad they got rid of the trackman, either elevation was set to way above sea level or the full swing sim just is spitting out horribly inaccurate yardages
full swing is so juiced, it had my ball speed at 200 when my ball speed is like 185
😂😂😂😂 he said like juice four times...and Bryson didnt flinch.
Full Swing simulators suck at actually giving real numbers. Estimated spin, I think.
Imagine being so good at golf that you know somethings wrong with the club when your ball lands 10 yards short. Bryson is a beast
lets go!! Bryson is the best. and the best for the game for sure.
I suspect the fact Bryson’s irons are several inches longer makes a huge difference.
Wait, Garrett said he is gonna give it a go?!!! That's cool to hear from him.
Bryson is using stronger lofted irons which is what I use when he mentioned that his p wedge loft is like a 9 iron and so forth. A lot of people would benefit from this as you would hit shorter shots into greens more often and hit your irons at least a club further. We can all use more distance anyway we can get it.
"We can all use more distance anyway we can get it"
Most regular people. but does it benefit Bryson? He struggles from 140 in because his gaping is so messed up from the strong lofts. There is a reason Bryson is the only elite golfer in the world to use crazy strong lofts. Elite players usually want good gaping, not more distance with their irons
why does it matter? a club up would be the same club under a different name
Shorter shaft so the club is easier to control maybe? @@warrenlu6724
And I believe he still has 1 length clubs as well
This was one of the most fascinating videos I've watched
The youtube golfer was hitting it a mile .. i was honestly surprised.. in contrast to other pro golfers he hits it as far if not further than most .. bryson is just a machine though .. breath of fresh air to the game
bryson's forward weight transfer is exceptional
Garrett has a beautiful smooth golf swing.
I watch only LIV golf and Bryson has always been my favorite. Love The Crushers
Simp
Lol...me too
He is like the Albert Einstein of Golf!!! He sees a number, and knows Exactly how to make it happen!!!
Garrett with the classic “I want to actually try to give it a go” and then we don’t hear anything about it for another year 😂 love ya G, but we all know this routine lol
Props to Garret swinging really well honestly
Bryson labels his club numbers wrong. What hes calling his pitching wedge is his 9 iron (it spins 9000) and the club numbers go up from there. The only reason to label his clubs the way he does is to sensationalize his distances. It should be....60,56,50,PW,9,8,7,6,5,4. Pretty normal set up when you don't label your clubs wrong.
No one talks about how Bryson’s clubs are still all the same length. A 9 iron on a 6 iron shaft will go further.
GM Golf knows how to youtube. Love the questionssss my dude. Good video Bryson :PPPP
Would absolutely love to see Garett on tour!
Bryson could fit GM in his biceps. What a monster.
Garret-Go-Pro-Countdown: 17-29 month left 🔥🔥
Bryson says he’s a typical pro golfer then goes 2 minutes into detail about spin and apex. I love how this dude a nerd for his sport it’s passionate as fuck😂
Chicks love the long balls but what is more possible, Bryson dominating in the majors or Garrett Monday qualify for tour event & making a check?
Most pros don’t hit them numbers lol great video though. Love to see how humble Bryson is. Keep pumping out the content dude!
I’m still convinced hitting off a mat adds distance especially on the lower end of the bag
this is bryson dechambeaus numbers vs a youtuber, your numbers are on a different level than “tour average”
I'm not saying this to be negative, but the technology has surpassed the courses. I'm glad that the ball rool back is happening so that the game is not too big for the course
Just love Bryson! More good good content please adding BDS and the insane giant german
This was awesome, now I got some numbers to chase!
GM is on the level of Standard Pro numbers I bet. This is more a flex than anything, but still good content. As someone that is using monitors for my own numbers more than ever, it’s fun to watch.
Better distances than standard pro, he’s more like tier 80
Way Significantly further than your if these numbers aren’t juiced.
Those numbers are so cracked, his 3 wood isn't carrying 310 yards, he's lucky if it carries 240-250. His drive probably carries 265 in actuality, and judging from their videos.
Very entertaining to watch, but it feels more like a 'how far can we hit it' session as opposed to a gapping
This sim is juiced, Bryson obviously hits it a mile but even he was surprised with how far some went, and he’s just so in control of his distances.
If they're both commenting that each shot is going really far, maybe the simulator needs adjusting.
It’s been a long time for Garrett’s stock yardage
211 9 iron is ridiculous. Almost seems detrimental lmao. I hit my 9 like 155, and most people I play with hit it shorter.
I hit my 9 like 95…but im 11
211 is my 3 iron distance if I really get ahold of it😂
Great video. Thanks for the fleshed out explanations Bryson. Keep up the awesome work
Curious to know, would you say this sim is giving you unusually high ball speeds and that's what's causing the yardages to be a bit juiced?
Tour average for a 7 iron is 1.33 smash, john rahm's 7 iron is like mid 130s ball speed with a higher swing speed.
ive hit on this same type of sim many times and it always inflates my numbers severely and it has a draw bias for everyshot
