    I cheaped out on this amazon breaker and it has been running hot for a while now. In this video I show many uses for a thermal imaging camera and finally replace this breaker with a more appropriate solar disconnect. All thoughts and comments on this product are my own, I received this product for free but I am free to provide my own opinion on it, which you will see in this video.

    Thank you for actually showing this product in ACTION. Other owners were too afraid to!

    One thing I do know about solar panels and roof is that a study was done on a number of buildings in which had solar and found that those that had solar that covered most of their roof or all of it were far cooler than those that did not. I would consider a double roof with a full ridge line vent in new construction which I think would provide the same effects.
    I 100% know that I need more insulation in my house. I would consider adding in as much as you can to fix these problems. The one thing you might find is that you will consume less energy with the mini split. If you do add in some insulation doing an update video where you you include the original clip and the new clip to show the changes overall.

    Excellent review, much appreciated. I'm a timber and damp surveyor, so the images of the joists behind the plasterboard sold it for me, just placed an order, thank you!

    I like your channel. I've watched all of your videos and you have got a lot of good ideas. I live in Michigan near the Canadian border and I just bought some property in New Mexico where we will be wintering from now on. Big hopes for solar projects there where the sun always shines. Keep the great ideas coming. Hope you can build your channel so you can get paid. I get a lot of good ideas from Will Prouse also, but you are easier to keep up with.

      Thanks so much for the kind words! Im glad you find the videos interesting. New Mexico will be a nice winter time upgrade over the climate we live in. I too hope I can keep the ideas fresh and make the videos enjoyable. Thanks for watching!

    Take note, I use this thermal cameras (i use the FIir mobile adapter one) and you can check your solar instalation on joints or connections, so you can ad more torque to the connections, and you can review your solar instalations, amazing what these cameras can do!

      Absolutely, I was amazed by all the different uses I found immediately. I checked all my solar panels for hot cells.

    Product reviews are fine as long as you do them as you do. You can also negative review products which help manufacturers make changes, several people do that and it's helpful too.
    Thermal imaging cams are awesome and very useful for a LOT of stuff. I can't afford one so I get by with an infrared thermometer, about $20. Cheers

    Okay, I'm just curious, at the beginning of the video you peeled the screen protector off, but then at the end of the video the screen protector is back on. What gives?😮

      I had been playing around with the camera before filming the unboxing section of the video. I just got carried away with it and started filming different shots, and saved the peel for the unboxing. Good eye though

    How long were you getting out of the MPP system in the evenings?

    • @SmitHVAC.
      @SmitHVAC.  Год назад +2

      More than I need! I can usually shut the EG4 off by 8pm comfortably, I am finding however the high idle consumption of the inverter is running down the batteries pretty low overnight, I have a temporary solution but I need more panels

    Is Federal Pioneer StabLok as bad as Federal Pacific StabLok? Ie: replace ASAP?

      Not that I know of? Very common around here

      Was curious - American electrician who has replaced more than one Federal Pacific StabLok panel - wondered if there was any commonality between the two. FP’s have issues not tripping due to bad design - glad the Canadian version is better!
