This game was Nearly Perfect for the Hawkeyes in every possible detail, the amazing passes, the almost flawless defence, the Neat Three Shooting from the start, Coordination and the Great Rebounding, it kind of reminds me of a Chicago Bulls Game Finals from the 1990's with Jordan, Pippen, Kirk and Rodman... And Caitlin Clark Doing the Job of ALL FOUR..!! I Wish her super success, Lots of Health and A Long Life... Thank you Cait & To Your Girls Team for giving us back the excitement, Joy and the Love back for the game..!! You're AWESOME..!!! (I was gonna comment on the bell "player" that got ejected but in all honesty, I don't have time or energy to waste on Losers... Good bye & fade into obscurity...)

At 22:30 started the best point guard sequence I've seen in years. Hannah Stuelke got the ball near the right baseline but was stopped from moving to the basket. Clark moved to the right corner, got the ball from Stuelke then threw and entrance pass that Stuelke didn't handle. Clark circled over the top got the ball and, I believe intentionally, immediately threw an entrance pass to Stuelke, now left of the basket, who made a great shot. Clark has a said Stuelke will become the best of all time Iowa player; I think Clark wanted Stuelke to believe it.

I wonder how many see what makes this work (Players actions), what make Iowa dangerous? Catlin Clarks deep 3s are part of it but it requires the other players to do these things.

I totally agree with you... I just wish this Whole Iowa Team was transferred to the WNBA INTACT so we can watch them play all the time...

Michigan fan here, honestly I can't respect Clark's game because it's so cheap. Another Steph Curry, chunking up 3 pointers from half court...it's not basketball. A smart defense would be to let her get 50 pts, but keep her out of the paint and force others to hit shots. Easier said than done, but the reason teams get blown away is because they try to defend Clark so tight, when they should just let her take as many half court shots as possible. This keeps the rest of the team cold, and forces her to get them involved, and THAT is where your defense should clamp down.
Also, there is something fishy with all these blowouts IMO. A team who had 21 wins, goes up against a team that had 26 wins, on paper it should be a competitive game. But somehow they get beat by 50 points? Is this due to the barrage of 3 pointers? Is it due to conference SOS? Perhaps, but I think there's more to it than that. I believe within the scope of the gameplay, there are a lot of chippy fouls called on the opponent, which racks up significant points in addition to the barrage of 3 pointers. Real evidence is proven @1:24, Clark clearly jumps into the defender, 2 officials see it, and they call a foul on the defender. This can happen frequently throughout the game, and nobody really pays attention to it. Another time is @5:24, when Clark is not on the floor. The Iowa player drives to the basket, the defender has both hands up and not impeding, and they call a foul on the defender to keep pushing the lead for Iowa.
This leads to a close game of about 5-10pts in deficit, to a whopping 50pt blowout. If 10 chippy fouls were called, that's 20 foul shots on average. If that team hits 15 of those 20 foul shots, that's 15 points. They hit 7 3's, which is 21 points. This is how you cunningly build up a large lead for the favored team. On the flipside, if we take away those 10 chippy fouls, then you don't have those 20 foul shots, and you don't have that 15 of 20 made, and you don't have those 15 points. Subtract that 15 from the margin of victory, and it stands about 35pts. Still a huge deficit right? But, the reason those 10 chippy fouls were called, were to ENSURE there will be no possible competitive gameplay. Maybe they don't hit 7 3's, and only hit 4, that's only 12 points. Subtract 12 from the previous 21 pts, you have only 9pts. Now in this scenario, the opponent has a 9pt deficit. Now THAT is analytics.
Of course this is a subjective analysis, due to in-game scenarios, but this is how a decent team gets blown out due to bias officiating. Michigan is a victim of this against Iowa, and will more than likely be a victim against LSU later today. But I smell an upset coming, one of these top teams will lose.

Nobody thinks Iowa is gonna win it all. But if you actually believe the refs are helping Iowa please please stop watching basket all together.

At 1:24 the defender hit Clark on her right arm while taking the shot. At 5:21 the defender didn't have their feet set and bodied Czinano as she was driving to the basket. SLU is a short team and not good on offense. They play in a bad conference and were an automatic qualifier by winning their conference tournament. SLU scored 2 points in the fourth quarter against Iowa's backups. The refs were not on the side of Iowa. You don't know what you are talking about. Stop watching basketball.
