The Cormorant does look like the bird and isn't far off from the Spyderco Smock. I can't wait for mine to arrive! I love fidget knives and it looks like fidget heaven! I wish there were more reviews of it out there. I think the x's will look good being red when I dye them. Love your videos man.

I own the Sencut Actium and I love it! It took all of one week to break in perfectly and is now a member of my weekly EDC rotation! That Feldspar makes mine look paltry! Love the look! Good content Jay!
Instead of swapping the scales on the Feldspar, I think it may be a prime candidate for a dye job! BladeHQ has a very interesting video on how to do it, I’ve never done it myself, but their results looked great!

Ranging from $15-80, this is my “can’t go wrong” list, starting with the cheapest....Opinel #7 carbon ($15, old school but awesome, you can make them sharp enough to cut atoms), cjrb ria and feldspar ($35ish, depending on your taste...they’re both incredible), civivi odium ($50, feels like a $200 knife, good D2), spyderco dragonfly 2 ($80 and worth every penny). For fixed blade fans, the mora classic line is almost perfection. They’re $30, stupid easy to sharpen and they’ll survive the apocalypse.

My wife carries a feldspar with the double red coral (burgundy) micarta scales. That black blade would be so sweet with these scales.

Love my fh921 smoothest thing ever. Took off the thumb studs and meticulously filed the edges of the exposed holes its one of my fav budgets. Love the vids Jay

Your really should try the Land 910 and the Land 911. Both were like $23. The materials and fit and finish are amazing. You'll be shocked!!!
I just bought a Kubey(Dugu KU159 model) with Aus10 steel and Carbon Fiber handles.Its just beautiful.I paid around $60 dollars for it and the action -both on the opening flip to the closing action is just about the best and smoothest I have experienced.Even compared with my more expensive knives.
Ikiv has another knife that looks like the Asher centri knife but ikiv is in d2 and they have it in carbon fiber and blue g10 very very good knives should check them out on Amazon
I really liked the IKIV 1806 for a fifth pocket carry. Great knife.

I RIT dyed my cormorant mid night black. It looks much better than the marshmallow scale.

I've had my eafengrow 950 for a couple months and mine is in jade but i took it apart and messed with the omega springs to make it easy to use. I can unlock it with just my thumb
Just be careful. Those springs are comprised now. Not saying they will break on you, it's just more likely once you bend em. Omega springs used to be hard to come by...not sure if that's still the case. I tried taking out one spring, and leaving one in, and it actually worked pretty well.
Nice. I've been thinking about opening it up to see about an adjustment.

Can’t believe no love for the cormorant!!! Buttonlock, multiple deployment and s35vn!!! It reminds me of the Spyderco smock (another great knife). I love mine. Thin behind the edge and a great slicer. C’mon man!!!! Lol!!!
Civivi’s recent releases are so smooth and fidget friendly. Pintail, Keen Nadder, Brazen and Riffle are all awesome!

Hey Jay hate to disagree with you but I've been eyeing that Cormorant since I first saw it, wish it was a smidge longer. You introduced me to 2 brands that I never heard of. So many now I can't finance 2 or 3 of every brand ha ha.
No it's okay Tom, I welcome your opinion, it helps give me a different perspective. I don't think I explained myself very well in the video because I do like the Cormorant, it cuts well and the action is great. I'm just not a fan of the blade shape.

Actually put that ikiv in my Amazon cart today, reminds me of my favorite Ganzo 7531. Should be getting my Ripple tomorrow. I’m interested in that Kizer, would like it more without that black overlay scale. Any chance is it removable?

Oh sir... You did NOT sell that IKIV well enough! I got the same design and it wasn't until I got past the bling that I found the ergos were great for how angular and ugly it is. AND, the best part is your thumb slides down the scale to wedge under the thumb stud. From there it's natural to flick out and that thing flicks out authoritatively, it's really satisfying! I had to keep from playing with the axis lock first to truly appreciate it!

That knife box could be used to hold eyeglasses. IKEV has several interesting knives on Amazon, thank you. What’s your opinion of D2 steel? I hear mixed feelings about it, I’ve never owned a knife made of D2.

Jay how do you get access to so many different knives? When I got the bug I decided to focus mostly on one brand spyderco, and even one brand is hard to experience.
I do a ridiculous amount of research, probably too much. I just love finding knives that haven't been seen by most yet. When you love what you do, it doesn't seem like work. I'm sure there are plenty of knives that I miss out on as well.

Im always concerned about buying a knife on Amazon. For example... I have seen Cold steel ad-15s on there that are no doubt knockoffs. Out of curiosity I went onto Aliexpress and found the same ad-10 knife on there for dirt cheep. Obviously not the real deal. My thinking is that someone is getting these in bulk and selling them on amazon.

Correct me if I’m wrong , but Arent button locks the same as liner locks ?
No. Most button locks have an internal cylinder called a plunger that moves to unlock the blade. A liner lock uses a thin piece of metal for the lock bar that is part of the liner, which is why it's called a liner lock. Hope this helps Louis.

Eafengrow has so many awesome "looking" knives. It is a shame they lie about their steel half the time. I vote with my wallet and will never give them a cent. Like I said. It is a shame.
