This song is basically calling out how people blindly follow the crowd and give in to toxic group behavior. It’s like we’re all stuck in this cycle of hurting ourselves and each other without even thinking about it. The whole “drinking the Kool-Aid” thing comes from a tragic event in the 70s where people followed a cult leader and literally drank poisoned Kool-Aid, so now it’s used to describe blindly going along with something dangerous or harmful without questioning it.
Not really about Kool Aid. This is a veiled reference to the mass suicide in Guyana in 1978 where “drinking the Kool Aid” entered the language to mean conforming to a false ideology. TW have written several songs about the dangers of conforming to false ideas.
Great reaction! “ …its all about the lyrics and the message…”, - Yes, that is The Warning!! You are right: It is a sad reality we live in regarding society and social media.
Hi Alexa, When they were still very young, they were so aware of the world around them, writing songs like this. Their name so appropriate from the very beginning; The Warning. I still look for rainbows, but have long ago given up on seeing a ‘unicorn’ (sigh).
Similar thematic songs from them: XXI Century Blood, Z, Disciple. Highly recommend to check out the video for XXI Century Blood. Don’t follow blindly, be weary of technology and social media, do your research.
❤️⚡🤘 I'm throwing a comment to help the algorithm see you. That's the new reality, right? TWA, but it's a little bit depressing.. We drink it all again,
The Warning has quite a bit of content, and quite a few beautiful songs, if you want lyrics that take you into a plot, I would recommend you listen to the full concept album of The Warning Queen of the Murder Scene, it is divided into four chapters and a prologue, listen to the songs live from Lunario. It tells the story of a disturbed young woman as she goes from obsession and desire to murder and madness. The songs are told from the point of view of either the woman's good side or her inner psychopath. Look for the lyrics of the songs so you can understand the meaning better, I leave you the link of the playlist with the live songs, in case you want to react: ruclips.net/p/PL93yv_ETy-0ibMK3V_z2GqWh0kmV-HPT7&si=6B1cnhRSM9aUGlpL
