Hey there. Thanks for making those short but great tutorials. I'm new to S.T.A.L.K.E.R modding, but not to series itself ,neither to the modeling/texturing . I wanted to remake some textures from Anomaly vanilla guns. But I really suck with "old school techniques" ... How can I get my textures to look like the ones from BaS ... like what are the recommended .dds format , resolution , what tools I would need to and etc. I have really good , hi res diffuse and green bump but it looks cartoony...
Explaining in a youtube comment is not that easy, if you have a good pc i recommend substance painter, you can add realistic details with, when it commes to weapons the specular map you created before combine it with your normal map is very important, the roughness the shining of the material etc. when it comes to dds format if your texture doesn't have transparency use DXt1, if it does have it use DXt5, for your bump map use DXt5 at in all cases, use mip maps kaiser format it keeps details when changing in texture quality. Mip maps are very important for optimization.
Hi, I would like to learn how to make mods, but I can't find any tutorials, and when I think it's in a different language than mine, could you tell me what apps I can use to create my mods, I'd like to start by replacing the default crosshairs
@@DeadYorick The xray sdk does have a level editor however, it doesn't work as traditional level editor like doom or valves hammer editor. You need to creat the map or level on a 3d software then import and edit it in the sdk. It's a bit complicated, this is why i'll make it in the intermediate tutorial series after finishing with the stalker modding basic series.

can you do a tutorial on making a level
Do you mean importing levels or creating levels from scratch?
