Man, I have played more than half of the list here in my old pirated Polystation console when I was a kid. I still find very impressive that Aladdin hack, I mean those graphics are still so cool for a 8 bit game. Actually the first game I have played was that Harry Potter hack. Thanks so much Hummer Team for all those good times!
That Aladdin port almost looked like an official title. With better music and a improved controls, it could have been amazing. Gotta respect these guys' pixel artwork too, some backgrounds and portraits are on point. I still laughed at how they just hacked Tiny Toon and Mighty Final Fight.
Nice list of Hummer Team games. But they also made two other games called ‘War’ and ‘The Duck’ which both were made in 2005 and it was part of the mini game on Super New Year 15-in-1 multi-cart. Great video!
I think the sound engine the Hummer Team used sounded a lot better when I watched this video. Also, I got to say that they did a FANTASTIC JOB with the graphics.
The Tiny Toons port was amazing! A truly piece of beauty, they just miss the motorcicly part and the kitchen part but evertything else was on point. Great game and great port.
Wow, they started to become a genuinely good developer once they got to Tiny Toon Adventures 6, which that of itself was arguably a better way to play the GBC game. Heck, their music for Final Fight 3 kind of rocks, even. So what the heck happened once they got to "Dragon Running" in 2000?
The FF3 music is all ripped from Mighty Final Fight, which is why it's so much better, haha. Overall the team shrank a lot leading into the 2000s and folded shortly after.
I remember being scared of "harry's legend" when I was a kid. Particularly stage 3 because of the music and the intro script, and that one flame enemy that relentlessly pursued you.
Every time I see the sprite flicker I am reminded of the fact that the famicom/NES as a PPU + VRAM on chip and each sprite could have had dedicated VRAM instead of this shared memory architecture. We could have 32 sprites on a line with up to 64px width. It is just that the coder then would have to decide which sprites in the game share a sprite in the PPU (can not be on screen together). Maybe there should be a "renting" feature where popular sprites ( many on screen at the same time) are only stored once. But it is RAM and the CPU is not too shabby and there is DMA. Just copy the sprite date in Vblank! But then I see the ugly all direction scrolling and understand that NES could not be better. Famicom came out 1983 after the 1982 C64 and Atari800 before and after the first round of US video consoles. It should have been perfect. As it is, the pcengine corrected the bugs.
7:14 I was afraid of this when I was little. I was so scared that when this came out I was running out of the room. It was in my dreams, I was having nightmares.
Their games from 1995-1997 had actually good graphics, and the donkey kong country, which is great and impressive port of SNES game. But it's noticeable, that since 00's they started to rather make bad and generic plug&play games rather than great ports from 90's.
Hummer team left a mark on every Latin American gamer back in the 90s in those countries where the famiclon machines were popular; without hummer team many games would have been unknown back in the days
I like that SF 2 and 4 was some how brought to the NES , i mean those games came out for every possible PC, Console and Handhelds , might as well have a NES version of the game 😅 Suck that it had to be a bootleg, be awesome if Capcom ported the Gameboy version of SF 2 too NES
Super Fighter 3 on NES was almost Capcom quality, other than the music! Hummer Cheng said it was developed by a professor he knew, but it was not a Hummer game, just a one-off by that professor. Take a look if you'd like a good SF for NES!
Good games (except Mortal Kombat). Another pirates released trash like Chip & Dale 3 (Heavy Barrel hack with chipmunk sprites) or Felix vs. Jerry (Tiny Toon Adventures hack with 2 replaced sprites). Somari, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World are great conversion from 16 bit. Final Fight 3 was better all Double Dragon games. Street Fighter 2 World Warrior was second best fighting on NES (first TMNT of course). I like Kart Fighter, first fighting in Mario universe, only minus is flashing sprites.
Some of these are actually okay. They scrolling tech is awful though, unfortunately. But their big sprite tech is nice. It's obvious they ported/copied a lot of Game Boy titles. For example Donkey Kong Country and all the Mortal Kombat sprites. That KoF 96 though. They really put some effort into these.
You clearly haven't watched Tiny Toons. I have watched it a lot here on RUclips and on downloaded videos of full episodes and Dizzy speaks broken English like thism
I just want to say that I really hate the way how Hummer Cheng wrote soundtracks. Props for the games, but this music for me is like a chalk on blackboard
I think the fact that it’s all *so close* to being correct and in-key makes it even worse than if it was flat out incorrect, haha. I’ve gotten used to most of them by now, but hacks that improve them (like with Aladdin and Somari) are great
Who created Somari for Sega MegaDrive/Genesis? Hummer Team or another developer? This version has new first zone (Mushroom Kingdom), also Somari has new abilities.
I believe Hummer Team did not mess with the Pokemon. There was also another Pokemon Yellow port called Pokemon Red, and Pokemon Gold but also made by different developers
I like the sounds of these guys. They manage to produce a decent ambient feeling.
not all of the tracks sounds good, but often, I gotta agree. It's very distinctive at the very least
Hummer Team were one if not the only bootlegers that not only did some faithful ports but also had some quality control behind them. Their platformers were better than their fighters imo.
Totally agreed.

It was pretty creepy, I can see why!
When the Famicom's demise was on the way a few developers come along and save the day... (what i meant was resurrecting the nes back from the dead)
I love how YT recognizes Kart Fighter as a game in the description
not many games can brag about beating super smash bros at the race, and im glad it was a bootleg who did
If they are a licenced developer, these games would maybe look the same or similar but they'd be way more polished and feel better to play
Yay thanks so much! :D
