My mom said the same thing . My hair thrives when I don’t let other people touch my hair. I’ve seen so much growth since I’ve been maintaining my own hair.
let me tell ya why ..my momma.say same shit although my momma is Romanian. they say people are touching yo hair don't have your best interests at heart and whatever bad juju they got in them. Welp now we got on our dang heads. and it's true what ever bad shit or what ever they connected to they can pass on
I remember when I was little, I had long thick curly hair and all the girls would use my hair like I was a doll. My mother always told me that too not to let nobody play in my hair even sent a note to my teacher that nobody can touch my hair, mom's man have knowledge you didn't know you needed but realize when you are older.
this is so true, when i did my hair during the pandemic it grew but when i when back to my hair being done for the last two year seemed like it slowed down.
I absolutely agree… since becoming natural In 2011, I was always VERY selective about who did my hair… I learned how to do my own twists and braids because I’m so particular… I think I’m gonna do my mini twists again… I loved it and it lasted a long time
You did a beautiful job on your hair. This is my go to style after failing miserably with these new lace wigs😢. Have you ever tried Cuban Twist Hair? It matches ours really well.
I appreciate these extensions due to their lightweight nature and lack of heavy feel. When applying them, try twisting in the opposite direction to achieve a tighter, more compact curl.
i do my own and my gf as well. her hair has grown tremendously so proud 😂 i kinda understand why stylist have so many demands for ease but prep is so important to me for longevity i can easily eat 5-6 weeks and my hair thrives off being protected. it may take longer than a shop but it’s worth it
I’m a white teenage girl and I’ve always admired the hair texture black people have. My best friend growing up always had the prettiest braids and I would always get so jealous when she had these sparkly butterfly hair clips at the end of them. Whenever I told someone “Wow I want that hair” they’d always tell me “No you don’t” or “I don’t think it’d suit you.” I’ve been complimented many times before on my hair, it’s pretty thick with a nice natural color and pretty curls if I get the product ratio right. But omg dealing with that thickness is so hard, seeing y’all’s makes me respect you so much more. I remember waiting in a car for four hours when I had to tag along with the friend I mentioned earlier to one of her hair appointments. I couldn’t imagine!! So yeah, gorgeous hair girly! New sub 😝
Your hair looks fantastic! Damn, I am so jealous! I’m lucky to get a hairbrush through my hair and get it put up in a decent looking pony for the day lol!
Mine said the same, but she didn't know how to do hair, neither do I. 😂😂😂 When I was younger, I managed by myself, but once I got in high school. I was getting self-conscious for the fact that I always looked Like a mess or a 5 year old, so I got perm. It only lasted about 3 years , and all of my hair started falling off. Then I had to start all over again. Then I started doing relaxers, and it was going great. My hair grew, then I moved 10 hours away from my hairstylist. Now we're back to square one. Sitting here... it's been a week since I've braid it (4 braids 😂) I have a broken 💅. I hope I don't get fired for coming to work looking like a mess. Thank God it's cold, so I just put beany on and keep it kicking 😂😂😂😂
Yesss my mama didn’t say the same, but I figured out for myself and my hair has BLOSSOMED. I don’t do anything but protective styles and they last longer
Did this. Huge disclaimer: when she says heavily, coat your hair, I mean HEAVILY coat your hair. Otherwise, the weave will dry out your hair. Even then I say don’t leave in for more than a month, but that’s just my opinion.
Mama is 100 percent correct. I don't trust anyone with my hair. I had so many disappointing experiences with my hair. Overprocessed hair, curl burning.,person talking on the phone arguing with her boyfriend 🙄 hair cut too short. Color blondin front hair came out.I just have beennatural since 2015 doing my hair myself it so time consuming.
Doing your own hair, trimming your ends when you see the split ends? You will see GROWTH. Long hair does care compared to short hair, I keep cutting mine. Mayb3 this year, I'll let it grow longer🤷🏾♀️. Just so much work.
Yessssss it does takes a long time I'm on day 2 and still in back of head...I was like dang my head is big but I will not be paying da $300 for them tho.
I’ve done this style and it was really cute, but it took me almost 10 hours to do and my hair kept popping out of the twists! Maybe I needed to add more product to my hair like you mentioned here. Your hair came out really pretty!
I use murrays beeswax when doing these but i also twist mine all the way from root to tip so the hair is already tucked idk if that makes a difference or not.
@@crystalreynolds9197 just a little bit of edge control or braiding gel only at the ends to help my ends blend with the hair cuz they usually stick out
Mamas are so wise! Mine said the same 😂
Chile and mine😂

the walking around and standing while doing hair is so real
Facts! You did a good job...And it was the standing, pacing and watching for me!🙋🏽♀️😅
I absolutely agree… since becoming natural

Yes, I agree with your whole comment. Mine last me a month.
God bless❤❤❤
You did your own triangle parts too!!! The skill!
Love your parts! That’s the hardest part of doing your own hair.
Thank you for the inspo!! I’m trying this next!!
I feel my sons and daughters that same thing! And sis! These new school folks don’t know nothing about that Nairobi!!! I love that mousse

I admire your patience for twisting your own hair
You did a great job! I need that mirror in my life. Can you link it or give name???
Looks like IKEA Tysnes mirror. I got mine years ago so it’s probably out of stock now, but I think there are dupes!
PREACH SIS. MOISTURE THE SCALP AND MASSAGE EVERY NOW AND THEN. MINES LAST 2 MONTHS DEPENDING ON THE HAIR.
Yes this absolutely a beautiful and healthy style!! I love doing this style on my hair!! It feels so good and freeing 🥰🥰🥰
Nice twists. You do a good twisting.
HEAAAAAD LOCC 🤪 my hair be to ready to come together 🥹

Just got mine done again yesterday but slightly longer. I love them!💕💕💕
Love the video! Quick questions, can you provide the name of the hair you used and the inches please and thank you?
❤❤❤. Mama was right!!!
Great job girl. Thumbs up. As a natural girl myself it's challenging.
Wait is the mousse brand called NAIROBI??? That’s my city !!!! 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Yea here in the US, it's a famous brand of setting lotion/mousse foam that many of us consume, but I was always more of a LottaBody fan 😊.

Mama is right I didn’t get my dream hair until I started doing it myself. I invest in quality products and my hairstyles look salon quality ❤️
Looks lovely!

That's life. When you're good and ready, you'll start again. I learnt to care for my own hair in a strange country and now, I'm at shoulder length
Gorgeous
I approve this message! I wear this style at least 3× per wear!❤
Stunning ❤

Super cute. I wear twisties most of the time and I don't like the look of it. This is better
Good job I want to do my own hair I just can't see myself doing the back of my head lol I don't let nobody to my hair anymore

You gotta twist left for these to get the spring
beautiul
❤it😊
😍😍😍😍
She looked at me in her mirror reflection 😂
I do my daughter twist now other ppl ate always asking me to do their hair.
That’s a nice house. Are you a full time youtube person?
Yes 😊 and thank youuuu
Soo true
Ok, but that couch! 😍🤤🤤🤤
I prefer to not use jams or gels when using this kind of hair because it makes the hair too slick and you can’t grip it well.
I did half of my head without gel and had to redo them all. Never again 😩😩
Cute🎉❤🎉
❤
i wish. They look good. I cant twist for anything. Its so sad😂😂
