    I'm surprised more athletes aren't type 3, especially with male development and puberty, I could imagine seeing a dramatic improvement between junior and senior years.

      Many great players emerge at this time and play at the D3, NAIA, and JUCO level. Most D1s and D2s are done with recruiting by the time players are seniors.

    We've seen some great players with good gpa's on our high school team go to JUCOs. What is the advantage going JUCO over Division III? What is the transfer portal? Thank you!

    more great info - one more question, if you are a type 3 player because of an injury that caused you to miss junior year, should you tell the coaches about the injury or just have them consider you based on your skills senior year - in my sons case, he had a stress fracture in his vertebra that caused him to sit out for 12+ weeks in spring/summer of junior year

      No need to bring up an injury like that so I would have them consider him based on his skills senior year.

    I’m going into freshman year and didn’t make our leagion team because I’m more on the small side (only 5,4” 100lbs) We don’t have high school baseball yet but it should be coming in the next few years. Should I wait till I go through puberty and grow before I make a highlight video and start my process?

      Hey bud! I am 5’7 so I understand. Have a plan and stick with it. Yes, wait until at least sophomore year to create your recruiting video.

I have tryouts Sunday and am more then expecting to make the team, I get quite a bit now that I’m 5’7” 115 (still trying to put on weight) almost done with my freshmen year! Thanks for the help, gonna be using a lot of this information soon for the recruiting process! Hope I can grow some more too 😊

    My Son is a 2 sport athlete focused on D3 schools in the Northeast. It's been my experience for D3 schools it's the athlete that has to reach out and make contact in order to be noticed/evaluated. Do you have any advice on making contact at D3 colleges?

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  3 года назад

      Great question! It is very important whether it is D3, D2, or D1 that the student-athlete is proactive in reaching out to coaches. Emailing with video is best.

    Im going into my junior year, I already go to a prep school. My target is D3 what should I be doing this summer?

      Put together your highlight video, start reaching out to college coaches directly, and get in front of them so they can eval.

    My son has got a lot of invites for D1 prospect camps this fall. He is a junior this year. Are these camps a waste of money and time or Is it good for him to go put himself in front of the coaches

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  3 года назад +3

      Bill, you want to make sure you are going to the camps that are recruiting 2023's and that position your son plays. Also be realistic about the schools talent level etc.

      Thanks Coach. The are all Mid level D1 which I feel he has the talent to play at that level. The ones we are attending have emailed him and said they are recruiting 2023’s and would like to see him in person. Not sure what that means but thank you for the response

    I'm noticing kids being recruited in the 7th and 8th grade. How is this happening? Are these kids taking campus visits at this age?

    How do you think the pandemic has effected this timeline?

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  3 года назад

      For the next year or two schools will not need as many high school players.
