    My son is being recruited by a good JUCO. He has gone to quite a few camps for D1, receives great feedback, does real well but no offers. Maybe his road is JUCO 2 years don’t know. He is a 2023 and one recruiter told us that outfield is a dime a dozen with portal. Some camps ghost you after good feedback. I just don’t understand this business. Why not advertise what positions are being looked for and give a yes of a no. One D1 camp they didn’t even take metrics. Seems to me this is about $$ more than about finding the right kids. Love your vids.

      Sorry to hear about that and agree that we need more honest transparency in this. I am working on that. Sounds like JUCO could be a good fit for your son.

    You mentioned a few times to email coaches prior to going to camps and after as a follow up. What are your thoughts on twitter. Would that work as well or do you suggest email as a better form of communication. Thanks and love the content.

    Second year traveling to showcases and recruiters are just not looking at freshman or sophomores. The competition is good experience though.

    Does my son need to join a team to attend these camps and showcases or can he sign up individually? Are college camps invitation only? He will be starting junior year and will likely be aiming for a D3 university. Thank you!

      Most camps and showcases you do not need to join a team. He can go individually. Anyone can attend a college camp.

    In your opinion when do you think things will get back to normal? Specifically in regards to the extra year of eligibility and the transfer portal making it difficult for high school recruiting classes

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  2 года назад +1

      For extra year of eligibility next year everything will be close to flushed out. If the transformer portal stays the same we won’t get back to normal.

    What’s your opinion of I95 Showcases? Is it worth it?

    You mentioned the quiet time for D1 and D2. Do D3, NAIA and Juco have similar rules? Also, my son is looking at a showcase that is in the quiet period but they have several D1 and D2 colleges listed as attending... is that BS or can they send people to watch that are not one of the paid coaches to get around the rules? Thanks!

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  2 года назад +2

      D3, NAIA, and JUCO don’t have to follow these rules. I would not suggest going to a showcase in the quiet period for D1 and D2 schools…if showcases are showing D1 and D2 schools will be there it’s not truthful.

      @@RecruitingwithAlex Thanks, Alex...that's what I thought. But, I am seeing a bunch of showcases with D1 and D2 schools listed in the quiet period...very frustrating :(

    How common (or difficult) is it today to be recruited as both a pitcher and position player/batter at a power D1 school?

    You had mentioned PBR Futures (just passed) recently and also Showball Baseball on another podcast. Are there other showcases on your radar the remainder of this contact period 8/1-8/20 and the upcoming 9/15-10/8?

      Showball was great! I think they have another showcase coming up in socal in September. It was the Head Coach Showcase. Definitely worth the money out of all the money I've spent this hands down was a success

      Make sure to attend some of the college prospect camps!

    • @jillpierce9436

      @daniwallace1696 which college prospect camps? Those on campus dedicated to a university?

    • @daniwallace1696
      @daniwallace1696 Год назад

      @jillpierce9436 schools, your player is interested in..for example USC, Fresno and Pepperdine have some upcoming camps. Arizona Fall Classic is also a good tournament if his travel ball club is attending that event. What year is your player? You can goggle schools he or she likes and search for prospect baseball camps.

    • @daniwallace1696
      @daniwallace1696 Год назад +1

      @jillpierce9436 I've spent a good 50,000 traveling these last 3 years and hands down the successful turnaround for my player came from attending "showball socal head coach showcase and dudes day event in socal.

    When contacting coaches prior to the showcase, would I send transcripts too? Or is highlight video just fine?

  • @nisupply

    Before attending a camp, how deep in the coaching and player development staff do you go when sending emails? For some schools that's 8 people to email. Should you reach out to the coaches only?

    • @RecruitingwithAlex

      Head coach, recruiting coordinator/assistant coaches (2 assistant coaches)

    I've come across some sites that seem to weigh attending summer camps as being more important than fall camps. Do you agree with this and why?

    • @RecruitingwithAlex
      @RecruitingwithAlex  2 года назад +1

      Depends on where you are in the recruiting process. If you are early then fall camps are not as important but if you are mid stage or late then they are very important.
