I've been on a big movie kick the past couple of weeks too leading up to the Oscars. I would rank what I've seen as follows: 1. American Fiction 2. The Zone of Interest 3. Poor Things 4. Dune part 2 5. All of Us Strangers 6. Barbie (finally got around to it haha). Thanks for sharing your selections and your viewpoints. :)
Liked the video, although I think you slightly missed the point of Lost in Translation. The two main characters were supposed to have a connection that wasn’t conventional, but was mostly due to their reactions to being in a disorientating place and finding an unlikely sense of comfort in each others company. The fact that they were 2 people who would not conventionally be drawn together was kinda the point of the movie, right?
Lena Dunham is such an interesting case where she brilliantly writes herself in the show in a self-deprecating and satirical way that really showcases all her character flaws out in the open in an unflinching way. What’s confusing is that her attitude/actions in real life make it seem as if she doesn’t care to do anything about those character flaws? It’s like if Sarah Jessica Parker was exactly like Carrie Bradshaw in real life
Hashahaha I don’t know much about her real life but she’s honestly bizarre, i’ve def heard some questionable things about her, but I also thinks she’s a genius.. oftentimes though when a woman is confounding me in this way I try to imagine what I would think if she were a man instead and i think that maybe helps explain it. I think there are lots of men who write themselves honestly on a show and then are also that way in real life? Larry david maybe or lil dicky? TBH she is so selfish on the show so if she’s that way in real life I can’t imagine she’d want to change how she is when those very flaws have brought her fame, fortune and fans
A little insidious tho to think that she’s so self aware but doesn’t give af about fixing it. maybe I should look at her as an evil genius kind of in like the Nathan fielder category
@@2000spcgameit’s a fair point, although as someone who isn’t really able to get past the narcissism of Larry David or Lil Dicky or even Donald Glover via Atlanta, I can’t really say that any version of this type of character transparency is able to escape criticism/unlikability (at least for me). Fielder is a unique case where he’s built a character almost so devoid of character that you can’t tell what’s real and what’s not. In a way he’s crafting a response meant to complicate this aforementioned notion of transparency.
@@drewgadbois that’s so interesting, while I do think Nathan fielder has set himself apart from normal humans, I feel like the behavior he subjects onto unassuming strangers (in Nathan for you & The Rehearsal) is far more evil than what Larry david does 😂😂 like the sheer lack of pity for his victims is scary and painful to watch
@@2000spcgame If you haven’t seen The Curse, it’s totally Fielder questioning the very pitiless affect he’s put on in his other projects. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that the show is the first instance of him diving into fiction
One movie that I've absolutely loved since I was a little boy was The Dark Knight, this movie made me love Batman. Have nothing to say that hasn't already been said about the movie but, does Christian Bale's Batman voice sound kinda stupid to anyone else? 😭 It sounds soooo forced lmaoo 💀
@@2000spcgame Despite his Batman voice I think he's one of the better actors to portray Batman, my personal favorite being Ben Affleck Btw I really enjoy your content, it helps me sleep 🙏
