Gustav discovered this well-kept secret long ago, that the less energy you spend and the more relaxed you are going into a trick the better are your chances of landing
Plus you get less tired that way. Skating tensed up will get you tired and incapable of moving your body right much, much quicker than just doing as little as possible and sorta leaning very slowly into everything.
took me a long time to learn this. also proper breathing is crucial and I suspect Gustav mastering his breath a part of why his skating looks so relaxed and effortless
This dude does everything so clean it's actually hard to tell if he's goofy or regs. Such a good part. Spots and trick selection are top-notch as well👌
absolutely. ever notice how young kids who can do like every trick sometimes start to get bored of just 'tricks' and hone and craft their tricks really heavily around something else? like gino and kalis and gustav and heaps more. you're totally right gustav mixes tricks and spots so beautifully
This guy... this video part put me on the board again since 10 years of not be myself, Gustav need to make a video part with Tom Penny that will be a window of the soul of skateboarding.
Bold claim, but Gustav is one of the best street skaters ever to do it. Bare in mind I started in mid 80s, skating through 90s into 00s. So I know skating. I have skated with some big names. Watched a lot of skate vids, but this guy has excellent trick selection, combinations, great lines and outstanding execution. I also note he has ankles of steel. All while looking like he putting minimal effort. Don't get me wrong, I like a big frontside flip down a 16 stair but it quickly gets meh. But this guy, I could watch all day. True artistry
Wow, the most fluid style I've ever seen, I'd like to see a bail video. This guy is good and superfluid. Sorry I'm new never seen this channel before. Subbed!
Also I've listened to a lot of Reggae music, even did a radio show for 5 years, but I don't know this song? Excellent track to go with excellent skating!
Sheeeesh! Gritty, grimy, raw... ...yet curvy curly twisty, in a styley coordinated flow, that's art at it's finest, in a skate sense, technical whilst retaining the bump and buzz, symmetrically stunning at times, the wavey up and down vibe of an up-to-down slickness, then side-to-side, and also round and round... Yikeeesss! Truly amazing! #androidywarhol
jude tidwell yea lol i dunno where this person lurks but i see the whole skateboard world talking about this part and gustav was definitely on the radar before this too
Trojan Burgess as an American, pretty much all my fav skaters are European and i look to them as inspiration. Of course i like skaters from other countries in different continents too, a good skater is a good skater, but something about European spots and the way they skate is dope and refreshing.
Who does this guy remind you of? Had an itch thinking about it and he is like a taller Marc Johnson. The way he heelflips, all 180 flip tricks and ledge stuff looks a lot like MJ. very smooth

It works with everything, not just skateboarding. This kind of effortless concentration is the proper way to live your life.
This was mind blowing stuff. I've seen good skaters but something about this guy just leaves me speechless lol.
Switch stance elegancy
Man bun
@@pomaicarpenter4315 that's where he keeps his skate brain
Probably how he doesn’t put effort yet he kills it
Truly je ne sais quoi...
14th century europe was almost half as sick as this part
Yess! More tweaked and unique than the plague, steezy and chill as Tom P. C.O.G.
Okay that’s a good one
LOL
2020 worldwide is still half as sick
This is a historically accurate comment.
This dude does everything so clean it's actually hard to tell if he's goofy or regs. Such a good part. Spots and trick selection are top-notch as well👌
Also, balls and taints....
@Mr.J JOK3R Oskar is sick don't get me wrong, but Gustav's style is a little cleaner imo.
Regoofy
Hands down.... best style in skateboarding
I almost cried it was so beautiful
I think most of the spots we see would remain unnoticed for most of us muggles...
The dude crafts his tricks around the spot hes at.
Nick Mougros how many recourses are necessary to craft a trick?
he's the spot whisperer for sure
Seth S. 3 , Skill , Patience and a brain
absolutely. ever notice how young kids who can do like every trick sometimes start to get bored of just 'tricks' and hone and craft their tricks really heavily around something else? like gino and kalis and gustav and heaps more. you're totally right gustav mixes tricks and spots so beautifully
Best part of 2019 for sure to me

Always with the big creativity! Love his style.

I loved the whole part. 03:12 was just beautiful with the firecrackers up the stairs.
New favorite skater .
Wow, the most fluid style I've ever seen, I'd like to see a bail video. This guy is good and superfluid. Sorry I'm new never seen this channel before. Subbed!
Second best part of 2019. Great skating and editing
And having the opportunity of seeing him skate in person, this lad has a massive bag of tricks, and has the upmost flow on a board
I'm simply in awe of his skills and finesse.
A lotta philly in this part. That switch hardflip Egypt club gap, that switch flip up that bump gap at Cecil, Baldi, DAMN THIS WAS A BUTTER PART!
Need to get him on nine club!
Gustav Tønnesen is my favourite skater!
Thank you 🙏
They better talk about this on skateline!!!
sickkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unique style.
Amazing skater and style!!!
Nollie Flip 360 girando él también en la valla de Barcelona? Este tío es mi ídolo 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Also I've listened to a lot of Reggae music, even did a radio show for 5 years, but I don't know this song? Excellent track to go with excellent skating!
Agreed, awesome music

FAV SKATER ALL TIME
@born 2 shit forced 2 wipe gustav been ripping since mid 2000s shut up
Sheeeesh! Love meth
One of the G.O.A.T.'s, future Skateboarding Hall of Fame recipient, and current fucking legend. 🙏🙌🔥🛹🔨
Here after Suciu's 9Club interview. This was one hell of a section
That Renegades song is a Rocksteady gem. Awesome song choice.
What’s the name of the second song?
Very nice and creative style
Amazing !
damn! He's smooth like a japanese fountain...incredible.
That was damn good
Banger! 💣💥
I like the channel quarter snacks for the random craziness, but I'm going to check out more of this channel.
THE ONE AND ONLY!
4:19 WOOAAAAAAH
Smooth dude!
only one tic-tac in the whole part and it was on the switch flip up the gap. magician
Awesome spots
That smooth style is very Yutoesque but not as depressing
Great stuff...dude’s a ninja
Amazing
great style
Dude's rocking adidas with wicked style
props. to you. from nelson.
Best part of late 2019 in my opinion
Cool stuff! European school of skateboarding looks quite different from American one and I like this kind of style
European guys don’t get enough credit. If Mark Suciu released this part the world would be jizzing their pants
The world is “jizzing their pants”
jude tidwell yea lol i dunno where this person lurks but i see the whole skateboard world talking about this part and gustav was definitely on the radar before this too
I agree, he wouldve won SOTY if he was covered like Sucui. I like that about him though, despite being on Adidas, he's kind of "anti-mainstream".
This dude don’t care he skates
Trojan Burgess as an American, pretty much all my fav skaters are European and i look to them as inspiration. Of course i like skaters from other countries in different continents too, a good skater is a good skater, but something about European spots and the way they skate is dope and refreshing.
Magic show
Tío eres un genio
Who does this guy remind you of? Had an itch thinking about it and he is like a taller Marc Johnson. The way he heelflips, all 180 flip tricks and ledge stuff looks a lot like MJ. very smooth
Kinda different style, but gives me the same feeling as watching Penny or Antwuan. Like its relaxing knowing he's not gonna fall or miss.
Did thrasher deleted the full version?
Buttery flow on hit.
love the 35mm
Switch Wallie Flip?! That was also my first thought, when I saw this spot
what happen with the full video?
Beast!
That expression he makes at 1:52 pretty much sums up the whole part.
Has a static 3 vibe
Style master general 2020
Norwegian?
Oh my god
This one has something special.
Mr Smooth right here 🤘😈
fuckin nuts. fav skater right now and this part is for sure in my top ten video parts of all time now
