This was such a helpful comparison video! Props for filming simultaneously and placing the film side by side, while also sampling the audio sound. I'm a new subscriber!
@@slothyyy9047 omg thank you so much for the quick reply! i literally have two other tabs open for these cameras and one click away from gettting one lol! thank you!
Remember this video is not a review! I just wanted to test out both cameras and see them side by side. They both have their pros and cons, but they're both excellent cameras!
+himadri0327 Agree! but both have their pros and cons. G7X isn't very wide, but good in low light. I can use my 10-18 on a5100, but bad in low light current i switched over to an a6300, can use wide angle + good in low light + can shoot in 4k for side projects. looking at a flip screen was sometimes a distraction as well, so there's something nice just looking into a lens.
Am I the only person who preferred the Canon audio to the Sony one? If you want really great sound, you'll need to replace with separate audio anyway, given that neither has a mic input.
@@Foreverbyash the mirrorless is the new tech replacing dslr (miror cameras) with lenses, means you can add lenses., get that nice sexy Bokah (clear focu on subject with great blur in background) with a $45 50mm lens, gret for modelling face shots, the canon has this with the Point and shoot but you need a version that takes a 50mm lens like the canon m50, sadly you need to pay if you want better low light performance in auto or manual mode, the best for this is the canon d70 d80 etc
Nice video man, just ordered my g7x last night since i'm trying to improve the quality of my vlogs!! Heard a lot of things about it, not exactly sure what to expect haha!
Love the canon g7x but hearing the audio quality compared to the Sony it's noticeable but not bad. Is there a camera like the canon g7x with better audio quality?? Just wondering
Isn't the tracking auto focus on the 6000 supposed to be top tier? So if you're recording your face in a decent light it'll stay focused on your face even during movement. Am I wrong?
+seemynameinglitter Agreed, placing the videos from the different cameras side by side is something you just don't see too often wjem people are comparing cameras. Thank you for doing it :)
Thanks for this video Eddie. I just started vlogging and already broke my G7X 3 weeks in :( Trying to decided what to do. Is that the stock lens on A6000? I think the colour profile is nicer as is the wider focal length on the Sony. Technically the G7X is better exposed in that dark corner but totally prefer the look of the sony.
+Sam Billingham Sorry to hear about you G7X! :( this is actually the Sony SEL1018 Wide angle lens. the stock lens isn't that great for photos, but for video, there should be no problem!
I like the G7X's audio quality, since it sounds more "rich" to me, but that's just what I think compared to the A6000. I'm kinda picky about the sound quality haha
Loved the cooking part! ^.^ Personally just bought the cannon wanting to see how I like it for myself. However I like the audio on the Sony. Usually I just replace my audio though. So it might just be a thing you'll have to decide on your own. Good luck! ^.^
I have the Sony NEX-5T Which is already great for vlogging but I'm not really here to look for a vlogging camera. I'm looking for a good main camera like to take pictures and stuff. Is the Sony a6000 good?
it depends on what you want to use it for. I recommend changing to the g7x marx ii . everything int this video was shot with the g7x mark ii :) ruclips.net/video/gV6GbD9Q6ao/видео.html
Thanks for the video - I have the sony a6000 and all my video shots are coming out grainy and I have a ring light ---- any suggestions? Yours looks awesome
hey man great comparison! Can I ask if you use any stabilization when you hand hold the sony a6000? I notice a lot of people use those gorilla tripods to hold the camera, is that supposed to help with image stabilization or is the camera itself pretty good for that?
InspirationIsFree i recommend watching a video about video settings when I first got my Sony a6000 I watched how to make my videos better I use the kit lenses with the Sony. I like the g7x but I would prefer the Sony because it’s a mirrorless camera
I kind of like both, I’d prefer the Sony for regular videos and g7x for vlogging. Sound quality matters for emergencies but I have a mic . I think I’m going to purchase the g7x, this was helpful, thanks!
I have the sony a6000 and I compared it to the other cameras and its not bad at all the ONLY! down side is just the 360 degree screen(g7x has the 140 degree screen) if iknow. Also I really love your videos ❤️❤️❤️
on my point of view, the canon is nicer when it comes to fps but the lens is hunting for an object. Sony a6 deemed the 5000+ kelvin better. However, canon g7x had a very smooth colour grade eventhough the focal length is the issue. i vote for canon g7x (but i still depressed about the lens hunting for an object)
they're both excellent cameras and pros and cons to them canon - smaller, pocketable, lighter, cheaper. sony - wider view with the 10-18 mm lens, sharper, faster focus
I bought the Sony before watching this video. I haven't even opened the Best Buy plastic bag yet. In this video I like the Cannon better. The low light looks better in the Cannon and also the Audio. Sony sounded tinny.
all depends on what you're doing. For vlogging I would used G7X its easier to use. But if I'm making a informational video or something I would used the a6000 it gives a more professional effect, in my opinion.
No, haven't dropped it. I bought it 7 days ago so I'm thinking of returning it. If you search in RUclips for "g7x mark ii clicking noise" you'll find other people having the same issue. I guess that some serial numbers have the issue and others don't, maybe depending on the factory the cameras are from or something like that.
if you want to look better, rid of those pimples and greasy skin stick to the canon, if you want even more pimples, greese and work transfering files, stick to sony (if your in Japan) if you dont its treason
This was such a helpful comparison video! Props for filming simultaneously and placing the film side by side, while also sampling the audio sound. I'm a new subscriber!
i like the g7x's audio but i really like the a6000's look. However I really need that flip up screen so idk which one!
Get the G7x Mark 2 or 3
i thought the same lol! did you end up with any of these?

the sony a6000 has a hot shoe mic input

true. focusing on a6000 is really good
+Eddie Moon why didn't you record 1080p 60fps in the a6000? And why is the frames so bad with the Sony?
Awesome comparison video!!!

Which one is best for video making?
KPC NOUSHAD Sony a6000. I'd recommend 6300 or 6500 if it's in your budget :)

I have the Sony NEX-5T Which is already great for vlogging but I'm not really here to look for a vlogging camera. I'm looking for a good main camera like to take pictures and stuff. Is the Sony a6000 good?
yea the screen flip up probably served as light for the low light frames....
So you keep both of your camera? I just want to check since i have a A6000 and still considering of changing to G7X MARK II.

did you use an additional lens to your sony device? because it looks really wide, i'm really clueless about cameras please bear with me

Hi there, are you using the kit lens for the Sony a6000? Which one is it? Thanks in advance!

thanks!
+Eddie Moon Should have read this far down in the comments :) Any thoughts on the 16-55 stock lens compared to the G7X?

+lordgregz yes! :)
wait , did you even use auto iso on the a6000, because it should be changing exposure ......
everything was set to auto :)

nope! it was the 10-18mm sony lens

awwwww I was looking at the sony a5 for a upgrade from canon t2i but wow idk that canon was nice what you think ?
can you or anyone tell me fps between g7x mark ii compare with sony a6000 ?
Same fps
Which one would be better strictly for photos? Don’t care too much about video at all. Bestbuy has the G7X for 599, and the A6000 for 499
Sorry have you got any of these two? I'm trying to decide as well lol
What's a good wide angle lense for that a6000 ? Thanks in advance
The SEL1018 is a great wide angle! Rokinon 14mm f/2. is great too, but no auto focus and IS
Sony is much better
How is the battery life of g7x? Im planning to get one :)
it's what you would expect forma point and shoot! I'd highly recommend it :)
Helps a lot! Been torn between these two. Might get the Sony a6000 since I don't vlog, I just love to take pictures.
sony!
anyone have overheating issue while shooting video? my a6000 can only record 20min max before system automatic shutdown.

how hard or difficult is it having the a6000 with no 180' flip up screen while self recording? thanks for replying bro
it's not too difficult, but you have to always make sure you hit record before you vlog.

Do you have a clicking noise caused by the autofocus on the G7X? Mine seems quite noisy.

Yes, but I would recommend recording at 30 FPS.

Canon has better quality but not as good sound. Sony has low quality but the sound is a lot better
Wanton Noodle ignorant canon fanboys. It’s not gonna convince them. Also he thinks that more zoomed in on you face is better quality. I love my a6000.
Audio on the sony sounds better here.... also... the end u have... isn't good u were better off with the kit lens lol
How are we doing, Sony? :)
i like both cameras
i though it was the camara when you took out the charger and just like, let it fall onto you hand! you scared me there xD thanks for the video ^^
No comparison. The A6000 is not even close to the G7x, Color wise, sharpness, sound, etc...
A6000’s kinda better🤷🏾♂️
Canon G7x mark it best
All people who have something to do with canon knows one thing - NEVER EVER USE CANON FOR VIDEO. It sucks.
