- This was the second airing (5/28/2008) of The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular from March 7th, 2008 that featured the contestant Michael Haynes: one of only 3 contestants thus far to win the million dollar prize on a Price is Right MDS. This is the ONLY high definition version of any of the Million Dollar Spectaculars available on RUclips (as well as the oldest HD TPiR episode on here in general), so enjoy!
Damn, I miss these MDSs so much. They need to bring them back, even though, we kinda had something like that done for a whole week during the first week of S50.
We will. I made a good idea to make Million Dollar Spectaculars and Variety Show on Steroids.
@@UCbTfyv8QXhR_xU4FycU4nwg Let's hear it then!
It's so cool seeing these old 2008 commercials.
I remember them all like it was yesterday

I was thinking the same thing cool as fuck
Michael definitely deserved that million. He seems like a cool guy.
56:34 talk about getting redemption after the painful loss!
Million Dollar Specacular is my future.
I love the Price is Right 1,000,000 dollar spectacular
After seeing this awesome million dollar win, I wish there is a current version of "The Price Is Right" Million Dollar Spectacular is still on the air.
The issue is that CBS can’t burn excessive amounts of money, and TPIR is their top Daytime show
@@insertcolorherehawk3761That's why they do Primetime TPIR's just not with Big Money on the line.
That Plinko game's achevement is like getting a PlayStation 🏆
1. Get all 4 price items right
2. Get 3 plinkos in the $20,000 spot
3. Win a million dollars all in one game
Michael is a prime example of "It's not how you start. It's how you finish!"
Good job Michael!
Why ruin the video, by saying who wins?
@@84CORVETTEBILL because I do what a want. first rule of YT. Don't look at comments until the end.
@@zepherscotty clearly you do exactly what you want.... Btw? There are NO rules of RUclips. Have a nice life....watching game shows. I’m 74 years old. You appear to be quite young. Way to waste your youth! Don’t you have some Lil Nas x videos to watch you little fruitcake?
It sucks in America that whatever you win it gets taxed, here in Australia whatever we win the Lotto, prizes money it is all ours we don't pay tax on winnings.
Some of the sweetest people in the world come to the price is right! 💓
😀I swear this is the best TPIR I have ever watched. A loser became a epic winner in the end, and that made me happy. I really hope he is still enjoying life to it's best. God bless him. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I love how Drew is so genuine when people win big, he's as happy as they are LOL
He is The Price Is Right's equivalent of Hoss in Bonanza. It's true. My cousin's aunt's brother's step-son-in-law said so.
And I read some bs comment that he's "never happy" for the contestants like wat. What show are you watching lol
@@Abcity92 He is happy a lot...but he is often very dry and very boring when he explains the games...you can tell he is trying to think while he is talking, unlike Bob who was a natural from day one. Drew is cool, Bob was better!!💲
- Bob Barker had the Microphone with cord.
- Drew Carey had the Microphone with cordless.
thank very much for uploading episodes like these.
this episode is from 8 years ago do you remember any more episodes from a long time ago?
Lol the dudes from Las Vegas and He’s going to Vegas 😂😂😂
Michael was on PYL in 1983 and won over $10,000
That he was. That's the same guy?
I hope you're not talking about Larson the guy who won 110237$
@@MirkoMazzoni2000 No, another Michael Haynes his na,e
Great. My 🧠 (alongside someone's at CBS) would have been confused if there was another Michael Larson in PYL. Expecially after what Larson caused (I'm talking about the first two parter show of PYL where there wasn't any whammy for 40 long spins).
I remember watching this live, the guy who won was so chill when he bid. I think that is how he won, he did not over think the price. If he sold a few items and one car he might not hurt to much on taxes
He won $1,000,000 in cash. Im.sure he can afford the taxes.
Imagine deciding to go see TPIR in person. Hoping you may get picked, then walking out with over $1,000,000 in cash plus a car, trip to Paris....and 3 bridal dresses.
I mean, there are parts of Paris where the dresses will fit in PERFECTLY.
that was beautiful how they huddled and hug
This is smart of The Price Is Right to let people post their show and re-watch whenever they want. dont see CBS making RUclips take their show down. They dont have to make as many new million dollar spectacular shows and it helps keep the cost down. People who havent seen this episode can watch forever or even re-watch again. Makes it cheaper for them. I love the big money episodes! Manuela, Amber, Rachel are classic beauties! Drew is hilarious. A great host!

jason was like "yeah i just got broken up with" and they were like "no problem, the theme of the next showcase is couples"

I bid 80k and thought I may have been over after the guy bid 70k but Michael still would have beaten me. YAY Michael!!
+Trent Hogan Why do people (Insert YOU here!) keep spelling Michael as Micheal...anyone ever heard of MICHAEL JACKSON?!
+Joann Smith Bcz most words in English have "EA" in that order like mean, bean, lean etc. So it's habit, even when you know the difference as I actually do. Typing fast and not thinking. My question is why are humans so rude to one another online? It really baffles me. perhaps they hate their lives?
I didn't mean to be rude. I am sorry. I just find it strange that people spell it that way. Thank you for giving me another way to look at it though. I appreciate it. :)

That damn FOURTH Chaos Emerald I know; I would love to see it again on primetime. :)
me too dude :)
Travis Theory me 3. I would go to a taping in a heartbeat if they do the MDS once more.
Loyalmoonie me 4
I think they should put 3 special primetimes like this in a year but it would be good to add a special $1,000,000 prize on the big wheel... In fact, to combine both versions with Bob and Drew... Me4Ever 👌
Well dang... nearly everyone lost their games..but it worked out in the end ;)
They wanted to give it away. The Lincoln won was easier to bid within a grand. I notice now it’s extremely wise to add at least 250 to your bid. The price is always over 250 knowing people bid flat amounts
Bidding should be secretive in computer by contestants to avoid snakes that over bid by one dollar as we see last person has highest chance I’m sure I’m not the only one it pisses off
Mike celebrated like a boss
omg what would happen if he bid 80k and they were both within $1000? Would they both win 1M?
I think the closest one wins.
The person closest to the actual retail price of their own showcase without going over is the winner. That's been the rule since September 4th, 1972.
If both contestants are $250 or less (or in this MDS case, $1,000) away from the actual retail price of their own showcase, then the contestant closest to the ARP of their own showcase is the winner and wins both showcases.
The only time when BOTH contestants can win is if the differences on each of their showcases is the same (without being over). And if said differences are the same and are $250 or less away from the ARP, then BOTH contestants win BOTH showcases.
In answer to your question, the only way they BOTH could have won the million is if they had each had the same difference AND been within $1,000 of the ARP, The odds of that both contestants having the same difference are almost astronomical these days. I think it's only happened once or twice, if ever, and that would have been back in the 70's, when showcases were usually under $5K a piece.
Wow, could you imagine being only 500-600 dollars away and not even winning your own showcase! That's exactly what would have happened if he bid 80k-he would have thought to win both showcases and 1M and then...NOTHING!
+Jim Lawton
You gotta win your showcase first.
No; the contestant who bids closest without going over wins; if both contestants would have been $1,000 or less away from the retail price of their own showcases, it would go to the contestant who was the closest.
Who here during quarantine
The price is right needs more black model's
6 pricing games lost and a million dollar win at the end to avoid El Skunko.
Michael just took $1,100,000.00 for dozen trips & 2 cars.
R.I.P. Regis Philbin.
I find it unfair that the last person gets to go up by 1$ which means the 2nd highest person will definitely lose unless he hits the exact price. They should totally change the rule to writing down the number and revealing all at once.
Yes!
+thewilliamjrful Not if the the person who bid $1 more and actually overbid. There was an instance in which one guy underbid by $1 but won, because he guessed the exact price, and, presumably, the one who should have won actually overbid. Imagine being the one who bid 700 and someone bid 701, then realized that you won because you guessed the correct price.
thewilliamjrful - It's been done like that from the beginning-it will never change. Unfair? Yeah, it sucks. But it still won't change. That's why they change who bids first on each item so eventually the ones getting screwed by the $1 overbid gets a chance to screw everybody else. (Unless you've been picked later in the show and don't get the chance....)
Your idea is a good one, though! I totally agree with you. Blind bidding. that's the only fair way.
"You & your Groom" with two men onstage: WTF, maybe the young guy, but not the other!
This was awesome!!!
I love The Price Is Right!
Meee toooo Love Price is Right!!! 😻
@@juliejohnston1875 me too, but only with Bob cause Drew sucks, he needs to be fired
@@MorganNye just curious? Why don’t you like him? He was a person who was molested when he was young. Overcame that adversity, joined the Marine Corp, and served his country! While I was serving in Iraq, he visited the troops, and lifted morale a TON!🇺🇸
What on EARTH don’t you like? And why would TPIR fire him? 🤔. Lastly. Why are you interested in the Price is Right loading more seasons, if you despise Drew Carey? Very odd…
@@84CORVETTEBILL he’s boring and annoying and doesn’t make the show have personality and he ruined the show forever since 2007, he’s not the real host, another reason why he should retire is because of his tough childhood, like I’m done with this guy and hopefully someone else can take over, because I don’t think Bob Barker can return because of how old he is.
@@MorganNye well? It’s the USA, and you get your opinion. You’re saying that Drew Carey SHOULD retire BECAUSE he was abused? Sir? That makes ZERO sense. Do a little research on Barker? Might I point out, he’s a proven womanizer? Almost EVERY host that worked with him, took him to court….and WON. Secondly. Many, many of the male staff on TPIR backed up those claims. Barker as well as CBS, paid several millions to the Plaintiffs, and Barker was subsequently fired from the show, for over 10 years! To your point on whether Barker should come back? Ummm? He’s over 97 years old, won’t be too popular in the current Me too era we’re in, AND lastly….Barker personally signed off, on Drew Carey becoming the new TPIR host!
So. Yes, you have the right to an opinion. It’s just not shared with MILLIONS of people that LOVE Drew Carey. An American patriot, overcame abuse as a child, and happens to have been professionally MUCH more successful than Bob Barker ever was. Have a nice day.
Those Plinko Chips, They Can Be Pretty Sneaky and Pretty Tricky, Going Down That Plinko Board.
It's rigged. Out of around 20 Plinko drops I watched, only one went into the middle slot. Prolly has to hit certain pegs just right to get into the middle slot or the pegs near the middle slot towards the bottom are slightly closer together or something. When Drew said you need 3 Plinkos to land in the $20k slot then get a Gold Plinko, I knew he'd never win. It's hard to get one in the middle much less 3! Next to impossible. It's definitely rigged. Don't know how exactly, but it's rigged.
Watched an old episode today with Bob Barker. Plinko was played
Guy dropped 3 chips that landed smack dab in the middle
and with taxes, it would give around 670k
Still a lot of money!
sorry 600k, they take off 400k , i know cause brother in law won million and they taxed him 400k
I love the price is right
I remember this episode this was one of the three contestants who won $1 million on the night time version of The Price is Right between February 7th 2008 and I think somewhere around 2009 or 10. But I can tell you that young man that won all that money and prizes totally $1,127,062 that sounds great for him I mean at least he won three cars a trip to Paris a trip to Las Vegas two Segway scooters and a few other things I'll tell you what at least the guy didn't go to the casino and waste all that money while I was there at the slot machines because I'll tell you what that's a pretty good way to lose all that money at the slot machine because basically just as fast as he could win a million dollars he could lose it in the slot machine
2008.
I just realized that's the same Michael who appeared on press your luck in 1983
