Can't be a true American farm girl if you're not willing to get your hands, face, hair and legs dirty. Shows dedication to your work and your ethic. Keep the videos rolling!
Great video, sweetie. There’s always something to do on downtime, cleaning and servicing equipment working in the barn all kinds of things people don’t realize that you bring out in the videos. You’re an amazing hard-working woman that’s for sure. Keep it up. I hope you get the mower fixed soon.🤗
Hey Taylor on your new air nozzle put a 2 or 3 foot piece of copper tubing on the nozzle crimp the end down slightly make it easier to get in holes and behind shields and it gets the debris a little farther away from you
The copper tube has an advantage over the OSHA nozzle. OSHA nozzles are designed to prevent "dead heading" which is when you push the nozzle into something and block the nozzle thus creating full line pressure at the tip. This can be dangerous if the dead heading happens against your skin, line pressure can be more than blood pressure and you blow air inside you which is bad (embolism bad). When cleaning though, it is good to be able to dead head because you can get full pressure behind a clump of dirt and blow it out with full line pressure. The extension is a great idea and most if not all commercial extensions have a bend at the end for getting behind things, but it also helps direct the blowback froom your head. Air is very dangerous because eyes are very fragile and by definition when one is working your eyes are pointed at the work.
@@cdfps750 Also pressure washing Also a better way to start cleaning , than doing a little blowing off before greasing well before going out to work equipment . Clean oiled chains can last three , four , five times longer than ones that are full of dirt and oil . That use to be in the operation manuals when I was young . But I'm just an old fart now .
This is REAL farming, all the way. Grew up working on farms, including my uncle’s dairy in the early ‘80’s. 3 am start the sanitizer’s, milk 123 (had some kickers!) and then the fields till the evening milking. Loved every second of it!!
Good morning Taylor. The maintenance you and Brent do on your machinery is what keeps it going. It’s great how you show us all of the details of what you are doing and how it plays a part in the workings of the machine. Brent doesn’t have the newest machinery but he makes the best of everything he has. Keep smiling , stay positive, and keep farming. 🚜🐄😉
Good morning Taylor always a pleasure watching your vids, your kindness and understanding of the animals, as well as the machinery you work with. A big thumbs up stay safe and have a lovely day until the next video, Take care.
Great job Taylor not many girls that would get right in there and get that dirty and do a great job… you need a Milwaukee leaf blower that will save you time and energy to blow equipment off…
The cleaning stage of maintenance is when I really come to know the machine. Up close and personal with every little bit of it getting my attention. Makes it fun.
A really good pressure wash/steam clean would make that thing run phenomenally better after you’ve got it all cleaned out with the copper tubing, air nozzle extension
Your sweet cow gave you a kiss on your hand. It is nice to see your cows love you and like you petting them. Great job on cleaning and greasing the baler, it helps them when they get care also. I keep sharing your videos to fakebook and X, I don't know if it gets you more views but I try. Soon you should go over 30K you are getting close. Stay safe and healthy Tay.
Another great video, it’s good to get amongst the machinery. The bearings on the rollers on your Baler can be damaged by over greasing as much as not being greased at all. Too much grease pops the seals and allows water and debris to enter the bearing. Your Baler was sold in Europe as a Welger and I was on the demonstration team in the UK from ‘99 until ‘02. We always stressed that those roller bearings only needed one pump of grease, per bearing, per day. Difficult to gauge how much you’re putting in with the electric grease gun but I’d suggest maybe you’re over greasing. Better to do little and often, the bearings will thank you for it!
Taylor so always have good videos. Love the dairy fam. The old cow was so sweet. Please wear glasses when using compressed air. Look up the dangers of blowing yourself off with compressed air. God bless you and Brent.
You one of those females don’t scared go get your hands dirty… but that’s how you learn. Thank you and keep it up. Enjoying watching your videos from Hawaii 🌺 Aloha 🤙🏽
Thanks for another amazing video, I know we probably can not go back but it would be so much better if our food supply came from family farms like you and Brent!!!!!!
Morning Taylor Yes you truly are a farmer an a great person Thanks for sharing these educational videos. One day on your own farm you will know exactly what to do ! That is funny to hear that there is an emu loose in the middle of Maine !
Taylor: love your videos. Bring back so many memories - milking 40 cows in a stanchion barn, two Surge milking machines suspended by surcingles, milk pail carried to milk house to be poured into a 10-gallon milk can through a strainer, milk cans cooled in a spring-fed milk vat, gutters shoveled by hand into the spreader (Dad reminded us not spread downwind!), loose hay, small square bales, small round bales (disaster!) , chopped dry hay (bigger disaster!), shoveling long driveway by hand so milk truck could get to the milk house, and many more! Questions: Can your closed captioning software be trained to speak farm language? Is there even one hay fork on the farm? Saves bending! Has Brent ever heard of Razor Crossman, auctioneer? Thank you! Ken, from Brunswick, ME
Good job Tay!! Enjoyed your video--as usual! Cleaning out the baler is an important job. You were right about how the chaff and dust can interfere with baler operations, especially electronic stuff. But it can also start fires. How long would a fire have to burn in the baler to mess it up big time? Not long. And those big wads of hay/dust you pulled out; how long do you think those can smolder undetected? Cleaning out the dust, etc. is a very important maintenance job!
Taylor i hate itchy dust i use a long blow gun for stuck dust and i use leaf blower in the field to blow my knotters and all build ups and keep chains, dried bearings lubricated to prevent sparks, i know a girl who almost lost her round baler from sparks and a small fire near darkness she was terrified i had to come explain what happened. Taylor do you have a jug of water in your tractors just in case
Taylor put extra grease from your fingers and wipe it to the chain then clean fingers on clean rags it's very hard to stay clean when fixing big problems but maintenance cleaning should have fairly clean hands and clothing once u know how
Love the content. Reminds me of growing up on a mixed cropping farm, wheat corn and 600 sheep ( as well as 5 hand milkers ) You and Brent make a great team. Love watching as the seasons change. Looks like a lovely part of the country. 😀
Hey Taylor , just started watching your videos and can see I’ll be watching more. I grew up on a dairy farm in SC , so can relate to what’s going on with your daily tasks . Really love seeing farming from different ares of the US. Keep posting, thanks
Yeah unfortunately being a mechanic you kind of expect to get covered in grease and filth. It can ruin clothes though, maybe a set of slip on overalls that you can zip up and take on and off quickly would be a plus 🤷🏻♂️ ya never know…just a suggestion! Love the video Taylor. 👍🏻👍🏻
Mornin Taylor, since I was a child I've always been told that I make the biggest messes.... I think I've "met my match". I dunno how people stay clean when wrenchin or greasin? I like being elbow deep in an engine but I really enjoy maintenance work. You keep the machine goin and the machine keeps you goin. Feels good. You are a really good wrench, Taylor. Please give my regards to Brent!!! Side note, am I the only one that sees great irony in the sticker that snake landed on????🚫👣🐍. I guess it doesn't account for a good stabbing.
Another great video!! I had to replay the section to make sure I heard you right....someone 'lost' their emu?!? I bet seeing that on your property would give you a shock! lol You did an awesome job cleaning and greasing the bailer! Hope yall get your mower back soon! Stay safe!
Fabulous video Taylor. Love your machinery tutorials and work videos. Well done 👏 Taylor you are absolutely brilliant at your job it's really a credit to you young lady keep it up. Regards from all of us here in Ireland 🇮🇪 Patrick's Brazil. 🎉.
Hi Taylor, I think I finally got my utube commits set so I can receive your message if you ever have time to, I know on a farm there is never enough hours in a day, thank you for the great video I always enjoy them
Hi Taylor thanks for another great video. Look at that blue sky and fluffy clouds beautiful. Bet that snake 🐍 made you jump. Great job cleaning the bailer got to keep on top of the maintenance. Really appreciate how you explain in detail what you are doing thank you 😊. Bet the wind changed direction when you started blowing off usual does. Bit disappointed no flip-flops 😅. The bailer looks a lot better clean on the inside to. Thanks again for sharing with us take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Hi Taylor love your videos , only one thing that makes me nervous is you riding on the step on the kobota when Brent is driving, l know you are hanging on tight , but please be careful accidents happen, have a good day and be safe
I am a long time subscriber and love your vidios, watching you blow the baler out I wanted to suggest a long blow gun they come in different lengths I think tsc or harbor freight has them this would help you not to be so close to the dirt and dust
I'm a newer subscriber. Your videos are very enjoyable to watch. My boss has an almost new Kubota M6 131 tractor. He's been teaching me how to run it. I think I'm addicted 😁. Thank you for the videos.
Your cows are looking very healthy and happy. They love to see and get their little pets from you. Maintenance is what keeps your machinery running. If I was closer, I would bring you guys some coffee. But aI am in Pennsylvania so it would be a little bit of a drive to bring it to you. Hope your baler gets fixed quickly so you can get back to haying. Have a wonderful day and God Bless
Hey Taylor! Back in the day there was usually 2 running together milk tankers running through pa and they had sunnydale farms on them. I cant remember where they were from but when i saw that on your milk parlor it triggered a memory. Have a great day guys!
Hi Taylor and Brent just finished watching you’re video it’s was beautiful love how Taylor getting dirty hands doing all greasy on machine and as always you and you’re families be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey Taylor, we use our gas powered leaf blower when blowing off all machinery works alot better and you can stay away from so much of the dust that way. Good luck!!!! S Ia.
Taylor, You made me laugh telling your story about the emu, we had one running around our farm this spring also, he was in the back of the farm as i was spreading manure. Come to find out it was 16 miles from home. Couple weeks later the owner caught it,how i don't know.
Can't be a true American farm girl if you're not willing to get your hands, face, hair and legs dirty. Shows dedication to your work and your ethic. Keep the videos rolling!

The farm is looking good. Nice to see a young lady taking pride in her work

That's a hard working girl. Very passionate about her job.
Nice to see a young farm lady , that is not afraid to get a little dirty . Great job !
Taylor, cows are lucky to have you. You seem to really understand them and relate to them well.
Just like a siamese twin you can never get away. Ha Ha Ha.
Mowers, snakes, and planes! Always great to see you. Thanks, Taylor!

23:32 be careful with compressed air against the skin..very easy to get air embolism. Admire young women who likes to work..greetings from Norway.
Thanks for the video!!

You know you’re a true farm girl when you clean off zerk fittings with your bare fingers.
The cleaning stage of maintenance is when I really come to know the machine. Up close and personal with every little bit of it getting my attention. Makes it fun.
You can get an extension for your air gun. Then you can stand away from the machine a bit.😊
A really good pressure wash/steam clean would make that thing run phenomenally better after you’ve got it all cleaned out with the copper tubing, air nozzle extension
When you're in charge of farm maintenance, everything is in good hands!

God bless you and Brent.
Dirt just shows how much work you’ve put in. Good video Taylor!
Had a friend who would just open all the hatches on the baler and drive down the road with it behind his truck at 50mph to start the cleaning.
Good morning Tay farms. Coming together to help us learn along the way!

Leaf blower works good cleaning up baler, for your chains on baler we use chain saw bar oil, oil them in afternoon while chains are hot
