- You'll never guess what happened during the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's encore in their final Vienna: City of Dreams performance at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, March 17. Johann Strauss Jr's boisterous "Unter Donner und Blitz" Polka Schnell (Op. 324) began like normal, but then ... well, you'll see!

This is a great example for all conductors out there. An orchestra without you, will always make music, but the opposite won’t happen. So, conductors of the world, be an inspiration for us, not just a metronome.
I was at the Carnegie Hall, somewhere in 1980s, when to make a point of how great the orchestra was, the same Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Leonard Bernstein crossed his arms and stopped conducting during the performance. There is a video of that, as I just found out: "Look Ma No Hands! Leonard Bernstein at his best..."
She is just the cutest! Her joy and love of music is so delightfully infectious!
