About Selective Neurolysis for the symptomatic treatment of synkinesis - Bell's Palsy Knowledge Base

One of our webinar attendees has asked us why selective neurolysis achieves some good results if aberrant regeneration of the nerve is not the cause of synkinesis?
Selective Neurolysis is a surgical intervention (operation) that can be used to reduce the visible manifestations of facial synkinesis. In this video, Alex Pashov explains how selective neurolysis works and how it can reduce visible synkinesis, what effects it can have on the facial nerve and why for this treatment method, the actual cause of synkinesis does not make any difference.
