Probably come with its own docking station and you'll need to plug it into the mains socket as usb won't be able to provide enough electricity for it to run, connect it to a usb hole on your computer and the pc will allocate its own drive automatically, you wont have to do anything, just plug it in
It's because they're in the hardware business, not software. Adding a ROM build to the SBC units is an easy way to sell these Android boxes at a premium. If they sell out of every lot they produce then why bother clean up the game lists, is probably their thinking.

Sorting those roms is a one time job and you could even create a simple Python script to eliminate doubles so you don´t have to do it manually. Those rom archives are well labeled with regions and revision numbers in the file names.

It more then likely the inferior sd cards try getting a known good performance sd clone from the bad sd card and see across these systems if it is truly thr system or the sd cards.
OMG whine much? I have had the unit for a week now and for $117 with over 100k in games, that is a lot for the money. Sure there is going to be bugs, dupe games and some glitches. I have six of my favorite consoles and a $hit load of games, along with Atgames Legends Ultimate and pinball already, but I'm having a blast with this console. Yes I've been deleting games like crazy and finding other roms to install and sometime down the road, I'll have it just the way I want it. But for now, I'm having a blast playing games and tweaking it. Maybe you should build one yourself and market it since you seem to think you could do better for $100 bucks. The controllers do need to be upgraded and I need to set up a racing wheel. Oh and I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics right now and it has music, so it isn't all games. Rant done and enjoy it for what it is.

I’m still trying to figure who the target market for these boxes are. Most people who are into emulation know how to create a box to fit their needs. I got a few pies that run EVERYTHING with a level of efficiency that puts this emulation box to absolute shame.

Some stuff seems to run better on the original super console X pro with the original S905 chipset I don’t know how they stuffed that up with a better chipset and more gb’s of memory.

The X2 Pro was a great start to emulation consoles for me. I made a Favorites list of maybe 500 games, downloaded/added some stuff missing and complete versions of the PSone stuff I really wanted to play, and had a damn good time - especially for £30. Just being able to play through Snatcher for that was worth it! Luckily the no-name SD card hasn’t died. This X5 actually seems worse somehow.
Two questions regarding this and pretty much any other emulation console that you would generally find on Amazon. Can you use Bluetooth controllers or wired controllers? Also do they have a web browser and are capable of at least 1080p resolution that a decent frame rate?
i got mine last week and it boots up in a few seconds. Even with the 256gb sd card in it. I dont see any problems at all. Maybe your version of the console or sdcard was a not good compiled one.
The first thing I did when I unpacked this thing was to check it for viruses. When I did this my computer told me there was an error on the drive. Windows fixed it. When I actually turned the system on it booted extremely fast. Less then 10 seconds if I'm not mistaken. I've turned it off and on a ton of times since then and it has always been that fast. Mostly what I have had problems with are issues with the controller and knowing what buttons to push. I'll figure that out. Now I just need to clone the chip so I never lose the games etc.
Why Amazon allows these “companies” to sell consoles and flash cards with pirated games on them using their platform but won’t let me sell my own Apple or Nintendo device is beyond me. 😂

I bought one from Temu for 100$ and it is worth every penny. All those games and on top of that an android TV dongle simply dope. I can browse the Internet on this thing. I can't do that on my chromecast, Roku or Samsung TV. I go to my favorite websites and watch the latest movies that came out on 1080-4K. All the luxuries of the playstore at my finger tips. Again even my chromecast/Google TV doesn't do that. Then to through in what I consider to be one of the greatest collections of retro games ever is off the chain. This system is for anyone who got fucked at the arcade by a cheating ass boss or for those of us who didn't have the money to afford a Neo Geo or 3DO. This baby comes action packed and the Android TV is utterly the icing on the cake. I'm definitely getting a keyboard for this baby it's just that dope.
X3 had the same long load time and I have to press the reset button on each game instead of start and select on the controller and most of the CPU games don't work
I have this system and it's not bad, but I've come across some games that are choppy or don't run good but it's ok because it's the nostalgia that I like the most. I figured out that the controller buttons change on different systems like how to exit a game, like some systems you have to push the 2 toggle buttons at the same time to exit or the select button or the L2 button but once you figure it out it's not bad. My games loaded up fine for the most part and the system loaded up right away for me. I think the controllers work pretty good too. Some of the PSP games I played and saved my progress and went back and it was still saved which I was surprised by that.
Kinhank was my first forray into trying to get emulated stuff on my TV. I hated the performance so much I taught myself how to build a raspberry pi 4 game console. Then I moved onto other things. If I have to give Kinhank credit for anything, it's for motivating me to build better stuff because their stuff is so bad.
I find this appalling. I'm currently putting a ton of work into an Orange Pi5 build that has ZERO duplicates, and I'm making sure EVERY game is in working order. If not, it's cut. I've invested closer to 60 hours into refining my build. It's a shame a company charging for their garbage is making money on their laziness.

I still don't get why they don't go the emulation handheld software route - just ship the console at a cheaper price with a blank 4-8GB (m)SD card and let the user load it up with ROMs (or buy his own bigger (m)SD card). That way they also won't have to worry about getting sued over illegally distributed ROMs.
Yeah it's crazy they're getting away with it on Amazon but I get why they do it. A lot of people are clueless about emulation or too busy to build a library, so the playability straight out of the box will draw buyers.

I get it, when it comes to compact consoles. Its portable, easy to pack up, and clean looking. Very fuckin nice. I own an SNES mini and use Hckchi. Its fantastic, but here is the catch yall. I did the leg work myself. When it comes to good emulation, you gotta do it yourself. First - Youre paying for games that are otherwise free on the net Second - Its still emulation. Its all predicated from piracy. Its free. Why are people bitching about this, when you are getting it for next to theft? If not free?? This is something I will never understand. Again, if you want proper emulation, do it yourself. Buy a gaming laptop, Its portable and clean just the same. Run Retroarch as your center hub, set it on start up, have your controller set to run the interface, Get your emulators, get your games. There you have it, its literally the same thing With all the games, all the space needed, better processing power. If need be you have a compter that does more. Only deference is, you gotta do the work to get the best experience out of your games and the cost for a gaming laptop is much higher. Still name an individual that does not have a need for a PC or laptop. Just put in the work yall.
JUST going to say… sometimes retro gamers prefer PAL ROMs (especially on higher end systems) because their lower FPS ceilings are easier for weaker hardware to achieve and stay locked at full run speed. I’m not defending this product or whatever, just saying PAL by itself can sometimes be helpful.
i heard somewhere that the Emuelec team has built in a delay when their default settings get changed causing the slow boot time.. the real crime is these companies going against the wishes of the emulelec team and continuing to retail their open source project

That's the operating system booting, loading the kernel, starting essential services and doing standard checks. This is completely normal for any Linux distribution. You don't see it on others because it hides it behind the splash screen.

I have a Super Console X King and I’m surprised they are still going with the 256gb card. I would think they would have upgraded to 512GB by now (for the CD/GD ROM games). I will not upgrade until they make it easy to increase storage and ad more emulators.

WHO want 50version of castlevania homebrews and chopped game without sound just to get that lower kb on the file to fit another 100 more homebrews. If a system is good they dont have to use 100k fake games to sell it
It's all the multiples of one game and crappy N64 game play they can never fix. It still looks like they're using the insides from their 2019 models for 2023, not improving anything.

You might want to try a cheap mini PC and run Batocera on it, I've seen the Ryzen builds going pretty cheap now.

I copied mine to a HDD, then when I got Steam Deck and a RG405V, it was the basis for my retro roms (after some cutting of stuff I didn’t care about).

It is a Linux system. That's why it initialized the system at the startup. maybe they are using retro arch source code for their os.

Buy a gaming laptop, Its portable and clean just the same. Run Retroarch as your center hub,
set it on start up, have your controller set to run the interface, Get your emulators, get your games.
There you have it, its literally the same thing With all the games, all the space needed, better processing power.
If need be you have a compter that does more. Only deference is, you gotta do the work to get the best experience
out of your games and the cost for a gaming laptop is much higher. Still name an individual that does not have a need

JUST going to say… sometimes retro gamers prefer PAL ROMs (especially on higher end systems) because their lower FPS ceilings are easier for weaker hardware to achieve and stay locked at full run speed. I’m not defending this product or whatever, just saying PAL by itself can sometimes be helpful.
In fact, PAL roms may be here to hide the system performance…
i heard somewhere that the Emuelec team has built in a delay when their default settings get changed causing the slow boot time.. the real crime is these companies going against the wishes of the emulelec team and continuing to retail their open source project

That's the operating system booting, loading the kernel, starting essential services and doing standard checks. This is completely normal for any Linux distribution. You don't see it on others because it hides it behind the splash screen.

I have a Super Console X King and I’m surprised they are still going with the 256gb card. I would think they would have upgraded to 512GB by now (for the CD/GD ROM games). I will not upgrade until they make it easy to increase storage and ad more emulators.
Is it not possible to buy a 512 gb sandisk micre as card. Copy the delivered 256 gb to it and then add a lot of extra games? I would like hundreds of Sega Saturn games, not only 21 or something 😢

Bigger sd they just gonna add 100k more copys of the files that are from the 250gb and add another letter behind the romfile.. and mqke another gamelist with the same games. WHO want 50version of castlevania homebrews and chopped game without sound just to get that lower kb on the file to fit another 100 more homebrews. If a system is good they dont have to use 100k fake games to sell it

Most your slow downs will be your software,stripped down emulator with no over clocking, or change to 60 hertz to match a 60 hertz tv.Only way I will play emlation is if I download the emlator with those future or I won't do it.
I stay away from store emulators.They strip down all the important software pofermence options than you stu k with choppy game because the software game cpu is not clocked right you need to over clock the virtual cpu.noy your hardware computer cpu.
