    This place is haunted I was in Preston in 2003 And I use to wake up in the middle of the night to something heavy on top of me choking me,It would happen a few times back to back until I made the correctional officer move me rooms. We use to hear people crying. There was a cemetery next to my building for the orphans that passed away long ago. And a few people committed suicide too. Preston was no joke I'm glad that place is shut down

      @@mcahp9065 the top room of the old castle by the graveyard is the “haunted” spot. Supposedly some female ward from the 40-50’s or something. I left Prestone a long time ago, Tamarack, Juniper, Hawthorne, greenbrier alllll had situations where wards took their own lives and or…you know.

    My husband was a ward of Preston at age 15. He told me the horrors of being there. He was born in 1946 and just passed at age 76 last May. There is even a graveyard on the grounds, the boys who did not survive the torture or succumbed to illness.

    I "Attended"Prestone.i was on the top of the highest hill in Preston. My 6th week I had a job using a gas powered leave Blower backpacks and a weed eater and I had to weed eat around the castle and I always had a feeling souls where looking at me thru every window and doorway. It wasn't being renovated yet still falling apart. I got to see a lot of the stuff still in its original places. Very sad feeling it was not a nice school.. I wouldn't commit crimes it that time. Great job thNks for taping . Oh look their showing the dorms . There like houses . Brings back a lot of growing up I did there and fast this takes me back . It saddens my heart to see that Preston closed. That's OG right there Prestone .lol I was in ponderosa on the hill, great view of Millcreek state prison. The gym was an old aircraft hanger Hugh. The modern day Preston wasn't nice either just as scary and intimidating. The church I use to go to that church just to stretch my legs. . Wow. Very weird feeling. Theres been famous people that have been locked up in Preston. There famous today . Important times in my life.whdn I attended. i met my son for the first time in Preston. They took this guy around the whole institution. I gotta visit donate some money. I use to eat in that chow hall.

    My sweetheart's dad and one of my friend's dad both were best friends and were at Preston. I toured there, got some awesome photos, Old man with a beard in one of the windows. When going up to the front door, I saw the spirits of boys from the 50's watching us go into the building. While in the building, I was watching through my phone and an orb went by. I want to go back.

    My grandma used to work there and my brother was locked up. I bet if my grandma was in this video she could tell you every little thing and detail about it. The employees lived in the homes either their kids. It is super cool to see what it is now. The Preston castle picture you saw above the fireplace in that one room my mom now owns. My moms brother in law owned the building so my family made a lot of history with this building. My grandpa was locked up when my grandma worked there. Hey guys, for all of you wondering about the preservation of Preston Castle, I was a haunt volunteer one year. Let me tell you, the preservation society for Preston Castle is making huge waves in not only preserving Preston School of Industry aka Preston Castle, but they have also had working water and electricity, they do have overnight stays still, they may open back up once Covid is over. But do not fret the Preston Castle Foundation is working VERY diligently to restore this place.
    The building style is Romanesque Revival architecture, the bricks were made by inmates in San Quentin. Every year this building keeps getting more and more upgrades.

    • @Creepsville_
      @Creepsville_ Год назад

      I was a volunteer there for one haunt season. I never heard of any of the boys being tortured or abused in that manner. I did hear a lot of kids were beat with straps that were like shaving straps. My first time on the grounds was interesting, I was a customer for their haunt. My second time at the grounds I drove there multiple times to help set up the haunted house one year then work it. A few adults met their end there. 23 people, 18 show via FindAGrave, are laid to rest in the Preston Cemetery. All passings were documented, many died from sickness, you can probably find some of the documents in Ione, CA itself.
      There was much lore that floated around to scare kids into not getting themselves into the juvenile program. Every volunteer and tour guide I know of have never once told me of abuse of burning flesh. Anna was choked and blugenoned, no firearm was involved there. Another lady I will not be naming because I blew their minds that I knew about the second lady and nobody talks about her but when I was asked during a meeting prior to the haunt event, I was the only one who knew about the other lady. (I do not claim to be psychic or a medium, but I come from lines of clairvoyants.) James/Jim was attacked but didn't pass on property, then we have Mr Downs that disappeared from his friend's sights while they were out hunting dove together, Mr Downs was found in the Preston Resevoir, but later was transferred to Elk Grove where he passed, it's unknown of heart condition or stroke that may have caused his passing.

    It’s hard to hear anyone say they’re glad someone is saving it. I was there from 04-06 some of the most vicious and brutal things possible happened daily. Pain and suffering. It was a terrible place to be. But st the time we relished in it and thrived. Made monsters out of young men. Cedar, Jumpin Juniper, Greenbrier and the mfin Rack. CYA was a tragic experiment.

      I say I'm glad someone is saving it because I believe in the power of education and history. People should be able to visit this to learn and feel the history. People should know how horrific places like this are, and the building itself is so interesting and hard to come by nowadays that it should be preserved.

    Just like Fred C. Nelles in Whittier Ca these buildings were not originally built to house criminal juveniles. Seriously, 7 boys in that giant building.? These are repurposed buildings from the past. In the late 1800s at least in Whittier, only box like structures were built. Imagine the cost to build this at that time for a juvenile detention center. But in keeping with the orphan trains, the narrative keeps us scratching our heads.

    I would spend the night there.. but not alone.. lol. Some of that amazing furniture has no business being in that decaying building.. especially some of the wardrobes, cabinents for storing dishes and whatever and other larger items for storing clothing.. a couple of really high dollar antique beds I saw too. They want $ to fix the place? Sell that chit!
    You are right that is not a basement.. I would check out other buildings in the city (if you can get in any) and see about basements at chest level.. this is evidence of a MUD FLOOD. It could also be from long forgotten earthquakes that cause liquid faction where water rose and muddies the soil and the building sinks.. although the building does not lean in any manner.. so I am leaning towards mud flood. There is strong evidence for mud floods in many villages and cities globally... Even currently in the middle east and India they have recieved so much water flooding that when it recedes it will leave mud up to the first windows or higher.. turning buildings into what you saw there or flat out making them become basements and second floors become first floors. Not much is said about this in the scientific realm and it is considered conspiracy.. but you have dirt and grass RIGHT up to the window sill. This is not how buildings are built. Ask a construction worker.
