Patrick , I love this knot I posted a picture on instagram and tagged you in it , it was amazing how manny compliments I got! You have the best explanation of how to tie the ties out of every one I have looked at , the matrix knot tomorrow. I LOVE the video on how to make the necktie into a bow tie 🤘👌🏻I am a Dance instructor so walking in with different tie knots is a major plus! Love your channel!
That is awesome knot. Looks like three curving creases with perfect curvature. I have two different red ties at home, and I really want to try this knot. This knot seems not that difficult if you know how to tie a Windsor Knot.
Love doing all the different types on knots. The bad is the side you tuck the extra on is kinda bulky and your neck line is thick on that side. The good is then rest of the knots are conversational pieces and cool.
If you're too tall like me and end up with not enough little end left to tuck under your collar at the end, you can save a little necktie by starting with a half/single Windsor rather than a full/double Windsor. #protip
This was a little difficult for me. My father taught me how to tie a tie when I was younger but he only showed me one very simple way. I am astonished that there are many different ways to tie a tie. I have already subscribed and would like to know where a beginner should start?
Good Morning Patrick . I have a hard time with tie length. I don't know if its the style of tie ( not slim ) , my neck width (18.5 " ) or both. I enjoy wearing different styles of knots which i get complimented on no matter where i go . I would like an easier process. Thx again and keep up the good info.
The Crosse Tie Invention It started as a croak around the gates of Croatian soldiers, and today is the most widespread fashion detail in the world. The cravat was initially the name for the rubbish around the door, which was a recognizable Croatian soldier who was fired under the French flag in the Thirty Years' War (1618 - 1648). This "fashion" detail sparked the great interest of Parisians who had always been interested in quality innovations in the field of dress. Young French King Louis XIV. began to wear a tie in 1646 when he was only seven years old and in some way determined the fashion standard of all French nobles. They soon adopted this new garment that was worn by la Croate ('in Croatian way'), which at the same time became the new root of the French word of the cravate. How much the French liked the tie showed enough evidence that in 1667 a special Regiment of Royal Cravates was formed and was named after the Croats who were in its composition and wore a tie. It did not take long for the tie to be widened with Europe as a sign of culture and elegance. The ties in France have long become a symbol of progress, so during the French Revolution they wore black ties as a sign of protest against backward, outdated ideas. In England the tie becomes fashion trend after Charles II. with her back from exile. The tie as a fashion accessory especially takes a sting after the First World War when it becomes a frequent part of clothing combinations in the United States. Although the tie was worn earlier, Britannica and many other encyclopaedias consider the first "official" use of the tie to be recorded in 1656, which means that 2016 will be the 450th anniversary of its first official use. Types of tie tie In the late 90s, two Cambridge investigators (Thomas Fink and Yong Mao), using mathematical modeling, were able to calculate that there were 85 theoretical possibilities of binding the standard tie node (limiting the number of "moves" to nine). Only a dozen of these 85 knots correspond to conventional images that are symmetrical. The most popular ways to tie the tie are a plain knot, a double knot, a small knot, a classic windsor and a half-windsor. It is worth mentioning also the "Atlantic style" in which the knot binds from behind, and is very popular, as well as so-called "Atlantic style". bow tie. The windsor knot was named after its inventor, the Duke of Windsor. In addition to being familiar with the way he tied the tie, the Duke was also remembered as a person who abdicated for love. Namely, Duke of Windsor was King of England under Edward VIII. and his rule is considered one of the shortest. He wanted to marry for his love, American Wallis Simpson, who had two divorces behind him. Not wanting to cause a crisis in the state, he decided to abdicate after only 326 days of rule. He then received the title of Duke of Windsor, by which way the ties were tied. The Duke was known as a fashion-conscious person with an exquisitely dressy taste. So no wonder she managed to invent a famous windsor knot - one of the most popular tie ties today. Columns of the colonel Shortly after the Thirty Years' War, already in 1667, a special tie of the Royal Cravates Regiment was established in the French Army. They were the light horsemen armed with short guns, and the members of these military units called the "Croats". In Central and Western Europe, this name became a synonym for the kind of lighter horsemen. Over time, among the Croatians, there were more and more Hungarians, Poles, Romanians and other Eastern European peoples among them. That is why during the second half of the 17th century the name "Hrvat" was replaced by the name "Husar", which later became more and more used for this kind of conjuncture. These "Croats", or "horns", were protected by a shield consisting of a closed helmet, a fleece jacket, an iron collar, and an armored shield for the upper thigh. Besides, they also had a thick leather coat worn under or over the armor. The main weapon they used was a short rifle, and besides her, there were several pistols in the saddle. They had a sword or sword from a cold weapon, and they could fight as pedestrians except as horsemen. Necklace around Pula Arena About Pula's Arena on October 18, 2003 is the largest tie in the world. Ties vary in length. There are a total of six "up and overs" and 2 "acrosses" in this know (I'm counting "across" as across the front, not the back like he says here). Some of mine are too short for this knot, which is likely the problem you're having. The other problem could be how low you're starting the fat end. He says "just above his belt line," but I put the point of mine right at my belly button to start.
It depends on the office environment and you're own personality, but if you work for an accounting firm for example you might just stick with a windsor knot.
hi this is a really good one, which one would you recommend for a job interview, I´m an industrial engineer and looking for my first job as an engineer, I would very much appreciate your advice.
It depends on the role you will be providing. If it's creative role then I would say yes otherwise I would stick with the Windsor. Let me know how it goes.
Next time I have an interview it will be in the finance world, and I'm still going to use a Trinity knot or perhaps and Eldridge knot. While some might consider them nontraditional or too casual, I personally think they are really a sign of our modern times and does a few things that are important for an interview: 1) Makes you stand out. This is huge, since at the end of the day you want them to be thinking of you and not the other 25 people they interviewed... probably all of them with Windsor knots, erring on the side of caution. 2) It's a bold statement, saying you are comfortable to go outside of norms and do your own thing; this can be an important thing in many fields. 3) It represents the modern times we live in. Our grandfather's all wore Windsors but these are different times. Ties can now be elegant and also reflect personal style, which I think makes a statement that says "I am modern and aware of trends". Just my $0.02, and it could backfire, but I'm going to try it regardless.
I thought about that, too, but I think the issue would be that the back of the tie would be facing front in the end. What I did (because I'm too tall and didn't have enough little end to tuck) was tie a half Windsor instead of a full Windsor.
+Patrick Novotny (The Tie Guy) I loved the rose knot. Women wearing ties as a fashion statement (easier than scarves)...in some ways might like playing hockey...we just want in on all the fun you guys are having with "les cravates nouveaux".

What about the other rosebud knot video that you posted?
+Buzzsaw 47 This one might become a favorite :)
what type of tie knot would you recommend for a groom?
A rose bud is pretty good. I's seen many wedding parties wear eldredge knots. If you are wearing a vest a Merovingian works very well.
Thx for the advice..:)
I end up running our of little end once you start making the rose bud part of the tie. What am I doing wrong?
You might need a longer tie. I have had better success when using a slim tie.

The perfect knot for a date.
Agreed.
You are right I'm going out on a date & this is a must!
the best tie is windsor for me
Dashing.
Could this be done with the format of a Pratt knot?( Taking little end up and through, like in the video)
Yes, definitely.
I thought about that, too, but I think the issue would be that the back of the tie would be facing front in the end. What I did (because I'm too tall and didn't have enough little end to tuck) was tie a half Windsor instead of a full Windsor.
