Thank you for this video. I see you use "M Audio UNO Midi to USB cable". I would like to ask why you don't use a simple USB to host cable? Is this solution more precise in capturing the midi at very high speeds etc.? I am talking about noticeable differences in literally virtuosic playing here (something which you apparently can do). Or is there absolutely no difference. Thanks
Yeah, it makes no difference at all. MIDI 1 (original midi) travels at 31250 bits per second. With this being the maximum speed, you won't get any difference using the traditional 5 pin dyn, or a usb cable.
@@InTheMixReviews I must add to this subject, that I once tried to use my Casio keyboard just to create sounds from programmed MIDI notes sent from the DAW, and using its MIDI over USB port (which uses class compliant drivers for the Casio) resulted in noticeable-enough rhythmic jittering in the "rendering" of swift arpeggios. When I connected the keyboarb to the MIDI output of my RME Babyface Pro (which itself is connected to the PC via USB) the notes' timing was much more accurate. So I suppose it is up to the keyboard's own drivers being good enough, and in some cases there might be a noticeable difference.
There are a number of piano libraries that I use... but the most current and really interesting library is Waves & Hammers. It's an extremely interesting library.
@@JitinMisra Not at all, though I use fast SSD drives for sample streaming and have a ton of memory. I set the buffer rate to low and have no problem playing in real time.
Hi. Ivory has their own sample player. You can see it’s GUI graphic in the video. You don’t need to buy a third party player or anything on the Ivory side of things.
@@deineospiano4972 I mean you would still need a DAW, and keyboard controller and stuff...but as far as the Ivory library is considered, it does come with their very own sample player. At least that's how it was a few years ago. You might want to check their official website or facebook page to make sure that's still the case.
@@InTheMixReviews OK thanks a lot! I have fl studio and a keyboard . sorry i have to bother you with my questions but does the garritan cfx grand concert yamaha also have a player already integrated?
@@deineospiano4972 You're no bother at all! Unfortunately I don't own nor have any experience with the Garritan piano library. I've heard a lot of good things about it, but no personal experience beyond that.
Interesting. I’m just coming back into possession of a Kronos (will be our bands first personal one, so to speak) and I am being a bit nosey to be honest on different setups and venues. I’ll have to get her to throw some of these piano slides up and see if they approximate yours! I’ve been really impressed with a lot of your classical applications to DP. But the SMB is one of few I’ve personally sat at and it’s a bit...hm. Off here. Might just be RUclips 🙈

Marvelous improvisation and top notch technique
At this point ive already bought the library I just keep coming back to hear you play
Nice. :)
What a beautiful improvisation. Very fast playing, how long have you been playing piano?
Thanks a lot. Long time...
What's the name of this song? Beautiful
Not a song, just an improvisation.
What is better Ivory Studio Grand 2 or Ivory American Steinway D ?
Just different pianos with different characters. Both are great pianos

@@InTheMixReviews thanks for your answer. Do you have an opinion on the Vienna Imperial?
@@PianoScoreVids The one from VSL? If yes, I've never played it.

@@TLguitar That's true. I've had similar experiences...where I couldn't explain why one method was working better than the other.
Can I ask what piano vst is currently your favorite?

have you got the chance to play with Embertone's Walker Grand 1955 Steinway D? Curious on your thoughts on that one.
I haven't spent a lot of time with it, but yes it sounds good. I'm waiting for the new update that they're going to release soon.
@@InTheMixReviews do you feel the latency , more than the onboard sounds of a keyboard? i tried vsts, but just didn't feel right

smooth as fuck

we don't need anything else then we need a sample player?

Dancing spiders
I could never have come up with that name! I gotta pin your post man!
Hm. What sound chain/output do you have here. This is a MASSIVE leap away from the sound of the actual SMB.
No post processing for sure. It's been a long time, so I can't remember if I changed anything within the Ivory engine itself.
