Flying in tbc - starter was 60% and 280%. The flying speed of a base fly mount was then changed in WOTLK because 60% was just painfully slow. It took way too long to get anywhere.

I really think dragon riding was, in part, developed with the intent of using in a Galakrond boss battle. It’s almost a requirement to make that battle make sense. Very ambitious but I wouldn’t be shocked.
Gameplay- and QoL-wise, WoW has been getting steadily better and better over the past eighteen years. It's a shame other factors pushed away a large portion of the playerbase. Let's hope some return with the new expansion, because this is looking fantastic!
@@mogalixir Gameplay and quality of life has been getting increasingly better, though. Even since Legion - and Dragonflight is a MASSIVE step in the right direction, based on what I've seen so far. The people I've spoken to who quit, did so because of either story or "I've just had enough".
@@eivind261093 You mean when they took away tier-sets, implemented a cap to AoE spells, not to mention removing talent trees? Nah, they were on a downward spiral in every sense of the word, though thankfully, this is a huge improvement over the dogshit expansion that Shadowlands was.
@@imaran1303 Agree with you on Shadowlands; it's the first expansion where I quit pretty much as soon as I hit max level. The only thing I was sorry to miss was the Legion timewalking, for the mage tower. I don't think removing tier sets was necessarily a bad move; taking them away also took away the requirement of using a strictly worse piece of equipment because a set bonus was too central to your spec to let go of. And an AoE cap is simply a balance change. Removing talent trees, however, was the worst change they've ever made to WoW, and has consistently been my biggest complaint ever since they did it. Which, again, is a point in Dragonflight's favour: Talent trees are back! It sucks that I can no longer make the types of hybrid spec I used to love, but at least I have SOME level of customization again.
@@eivind261093 O actually love that Tier-sets made it less: Look at the NUMBERS of your set, cause the higher NUMBERS is all that mattered. It is what I liked when they FINALLY implemented tier sets again in the Zeref Mortis patch, even if the tier sets looked like absolute garbage, also the fact that the 8 enemy hard cap was universally hated which is why they made a 8 enemy soft cap, where you hit 8 enemies at max damage and all beyond that at reduced damage. The typical bs of fixing shit at the END of a expansion, but yeah, good that we finally have some form of customization, professions actually look fun now (looks heavily inspired by FF14, which is fine, that was Wow's charm, steal from competitors and implement it), Dragon Riding looks dope and me being able to play as a Evoker and just fly myself is even better, the story so far doesn't look like a convoluted mess, though neither did BfA, as it was sold as a 'back to roots, Alliance vs Horde Expansion but ended up NOT being that, so I shall remain skeptical on the lore even though so far it looks to be pretty decent, the UI custimzation is also pretty dope (another thing they took from FF14 apparently), though the new UI does take some time getting used to. Yeah, DF definetly looks like a vast improvement over the downward spiral of absolute dogshit we had to endure through BfA and Shadowlands (BfA ESPECIALLY if you were Horde, how they ruined my zandalari boys and turned them from a actual threat to a absolute mass of morons.)
@@imaran1303 I wish I was allowed to move my exp/rep/artifact bars with the new UI, and the little menu/bag bar. And I wish I could change the orientation of my action bars (if I have one bar set to two rows, I want button number one to be top left, not bottom left!), as well as have different settings for 10-, 25-, and 40-man raid frames. Those are the only quirks of the UI I've found that I don't like, however - and they should all be easy enough to fix with addons, if Blizzard don't fix them, themselves. It's funny you should say that the Horde was screwed over by Blizzard, though. From my point of view, Horde got... pretty much all the cool stuff. You got freaking dinosaur druid forms (!!!!), and you got an allied race that was both a unique race (rather than a sub-species) and *highly* requested in the community (Vulpera). You got generally better-looking and cooler both races and allied races. You got FAR easier unlock requirements for literally every allied race. Horde got their allied races generally from start-of-expansion factions while Alliance got them from end-of-expansion ones, that both took more effort to unlock, and that we hadn't had as much time to grind out (this was back when allied races were first released, obviously). Horde got a bunch of cool cosmetics and mounts, while Alliance got mostly recoloured horses and gryphons - and when Alliance finally got a single cool thing, the bee mount, Horde players threw a fit online. Horde stuff in general has clearly gotten a lot more effort and attention when it comes to design, and the last several expansions before Shadowlands have featured heavily Horde-focused storylines. Horde has been Blizzard's clear favourite for a long, long time.
Evokers do have an obscene level of mobility their own to compensate, with a lot of their blue spells slowing enemies. multiple speed boosts, casting while moving, leaps and even their deep breath make them quite decent at kiting in pvp.
The mention of gear that could be upgraded. Is this a painfully long process where by the time you can get it you'll have better gear from 5 man mythics anyway? It's a common trend Blizzard have. They put in a blue set of starter gear in the new xpac and lock it behind so much time gating that it's useless when you finally get it.
I’m sorry, u lost me when u said that the previous box choosing talent tree is better than actually having a proper talent tree that very engaging in building ur character as any mmo rpg game

Thank god no borrowed power
LOL Did he just say that in TBC regular flying was 150%? My guy... Why do you not fact check these?
yeah the wotlk normal flying got put in there on accident, when we noticed it was too late to change.
Lets give Evokers 25 yard range for damage spells to ensure they can't kite melee with all their mobility they got over the years. Outstanding move
PVE before, PVP later
Evokers do have an obscene level of mobility their own to compensate, with a lot of their blue spells slowing enemies. multiple speed boosts, casting while moving, leaps and even their deep breath make them quite decent at kiting in pvp.
@@hirumaredx Oh, if so then forgive my ignorance
The mention of gear that could be upgraded.
Is this a painfully long process where by the time you can get it you'll have better gear from 5 man mythics anyway?
It's a common trend Blizzard have. They put in a blue set of starter gear in the new xpac and lock it behind so much time gating that it's useless when you finally get it.
I’m sorry, u lost me when u said that the previous box choosing talent tree is better than actually having a proper talent tree that very engaging in building ur character as any mmo rpg game
God I am so excited for Dragonflight!
