      I’m on team Dogmode but when I put it up for discussion on Reddit I was surprised to see it wasn’t something everyone thought was a good idea. Seems like a no brainer to me and would be simple to implement with some programming I’m guessing. Not sure about the legalities. I’ve wondered if it might be influenced by culture because it might not be something Koreans can conceive of being important. Who knows.

    If you do another survey I'd be curious to know about how often people use V2L and for what use cases. To me it's a killer feature of these vehicles compared to the competition. It was an absolute godsend for us during a recent 37 hour power outage. I wasn't the only one on my block rocking V2L either! You could also ask how many people have set up an inlet and transfer switch like you did. I'm sure there are others who don't do whole-home backup but have used it for camping, tailgating, etc.

    The regen level preference question is interesting to me, because I use Level 3 exclusively in the hilly city where I live, and then on the road elsewhere, I’m kind of constantly shifting based on traffic congestion and spacing. I use it as “pre-braking” and prefer it to messing with the pedal neutral position with my foot.

    Thanks for doing this and presenting the data. Fyi, when presenting anything quantitative (e.g. number of owners per level 2 charging current), a histogram (or bar graph if histogram is not an option) is a better way to visualize that than a pie chart. Binary and categorical data is fine in a pie chart, but a bar graph may be better in some cases there as well. You shared the raw data, so we can make our own visualizations which is great, just a pointer for future surveys since you plan on doing more. Good job!

    Perhaps another impactful reason more people aren’t using i-Pedal is the fact that these cars are less efficient due to being forced to activate both motors. That’s certainly the reason I avoid it, and people on Facebook groups that ask about efficiency are often turned away from it in responses. I would use it exclusively otherwise, but I’m on Auto as a “set it and forget it” option. I’m a GV60 owner that participated in the survey and my drives are a mix of side streets and highway.

    What battery percentage do you most often charge your car to? Thats does not necessarily mean on a daily basis… yes i’m charging at 100% every time but at 3 days intervals and it finish charging minutes before i take the car to go work or return home. So i’m in 100% state just a few minutes a week, the rest of time it’s below 90%, even below 80%. And the majority of those charges are made at the lowest amp setting, sometimes on 110v😁
    So don’t be so afraid of us that are charging it to 100%🤣

      @@BillyONeal there is a buffer which is why it’s 100% and will be for a while yet. On my 58kWh version only 54kwh is useable. The BMS will show 100% SoH until it gets to 53.9kwh or so. Same logic applied to most cars. You would have to do a driving range test to get the real SoH above 54kwh in my case.

  • @TrueLink00
    @TrueLink00 День назад

    Regarding charging speed issues, I think you need to align that question with the L2 charging speed question. Since lower amperage charging produces less heat, people who charge at lower rates are much less likely to have an issue.
    I would like to see how many who charge at 48 amps have an issue. Same for 40 amps, 32 amps, etc. Does the issue disappear at a certain rate?

  • @zonoskar
    @zonoskar 2 дня назад

    The charging % question I interpreted totally different than what you explain. I run my car down to about 30-40% and then charge to 100% when I need the car the next day. So I most often charge to 100% like the question said. I don't charge to 100% every day (mostly 1 or 2x a week).

Mostly driving in level 3, just in the city with iPedal. And I plan to drive it least until it's out of the 8 year warrenty.
    Really like this car... there are just a handfull of annoying things for me...
    1, Headlights suck, I wish I could replace them with the ones from the latest model. But might be far too expensive, if at all possible.
    2. Rear-windows not closing, when pressing the lock button on the key.
    3. Tailgate not automatically opening, when the car is unlocked. When carrying something, passing the car, the doors unlock. Then I'm standing at the tailgate and it doesn't. :( Don't have enough space to make a big circle around the car first.
    4. The Bose Sound System - weak system and far away from any premium sound. Sounds also like the crossover has some issue with the mid frequencies (the only reason I miss my previous BMW with a harman/kardon system - way better).
    5. Rain sensor has it's own life - normal rain it sometimes goes on interval, low rain it panics (probably remembering heavy rain 10 minutes prior :D)

    There were some youTube videos about two owners in Canada who owned Ionic 5s. In both cases, their cars got some road damage to the armor plate under the battery from road debris and on the basis of that (not an examination of the battery) the dealers said the batteries had to be replaced and Hundai had decreed that that damage voided the owner's warranty and the 5 figure replacement cost would not be covered. This resulted in the car being totaled by the insurance company. Do you know about these stories and if so, what might you have discovered by investigating it? Thanks.

    The fact that you need to turn on one pedal every time shows you how dumb Hyundai is. What if all your settings had to be reset every time you turned it off. What a dumb design decision by their software team but not surprised cause a lot of other companies also do that for other settings. I'd return the car the second I found that out. Imagine if that applies to a computer or phone and you had to reset all settings every time. All Hyundai owners should email them to save if after you change it.

    I'm one of the Auto Re Gen Users. I use level 1 & the left hand paddle to stop the car, I don't always wait for the car to do it by itself so I guess it's a partnership I drive 40 miles a day of highway & city to work. It gives me a more connected driving feel & both motors are not always on therefore more efficient. People think there is only Re Gen Mode 0,1,2,3. But in auto there are extra modes under Smart Re Gen System called Slower, Med, Strong. This might be why people are using it.

    One factor probably playing into the number of people who don't plan to trade in/upgrade is the combination of folks who purchased/leased and the used EV market absolutely tanking this year. If you bought your car before January there's a good chance you're still years away from breaking even on selling or trading in because you lost $10k-plus in trade-in value.
