I believe we are not meant to live together.we do it for our kids and family and mostly will tolerate.i am divorced but in a great close friendship with my 2nd husband and we really enjoy eachother company as long as we dont live together.i have many friends who are married though some content and some not . There is not a time comes that they positively comment they wish they were in my situation or if they could go back to younger days, they would have not marry their husband.
The Bible says we are meant to marry and not just enjoy the fringe benefits outside of marriage. God gave Adam Eve so we would not be alone. Marriage is hard work that most aren't willing to put into it.

After 42 years together, I divorced him. He was the love of my life. I was nothing more than the maid. Took care of everything and he was the wage earner for the family. Now at 70, I am alone, but never lonely. I developed my own style, got a dog, and I truly enjoy my way of life now. I put everyone before me, and took care of every thing and every one but myself. I do not look back because God does not want me to live in the past. Happy Birthday Desi. I have a Dixie Grace, a one year old female doberman. Only you can make yourself content and happy. Took me a while to learn that lesson.

This sweet puppy made my morning! One thing about having a dog in your life is they love you totally unconditionally and with all of their hearts! 💕 plus they await your arrival with anticipation and excitement just to hear your voice and give you all the attention you want, need and deserve! Added plus…whichever one leaves this earth first the other one will know how much that one gave their heart totally to you and no one else! Answer to the hottest date I ever had was going for a midnight boat ride with the moon casting its aluminas light over the peaceful lake. My date had a blanket to cover us up( it was in October) and had a bottle of iced down Champagne and some fresh strawberries. I fell for him at that moment! He was a very talented water skier, very tone and charming. We both loved the water, the changing of the leaves 🍁 in the mountains and simple things in life. He could always make me smile and just enjoy his company. I found out he has passed on not long ago. Yet I will always remember him on that very romantic night. ❤
When a man cheats, it’s over. Cannot work through it, never trust again. Rather be alone, than with someone that you cannot trust. It does not matter if they want to make it up to you. One time is all anyone gets. Edited to add that I have been married 30 years to a wonderful man.

My husband would never cheat, because I would not tolerate it. I would never cheat, because I have a wonderful husband. My first husband cheated on me. I was 24 yrs old he was 30. We married in Oct and I found out he was cheating in Feb. He had been cheating with this married women he met at his job while we were planning our wedding. I never felt pain like that . I cried for months. Couldn’t work . Lost 20 lbs. It was devastating . I didn’t want him back. He wanted to try to work things out but there was no way I could forgive him. We had this big church wedding. I was so humiliated by what he did. I can say it has made me a stronger person. If I got through that I could do anything. I just couldn’t believe someone could hurt another human being like that. I am 70 yrs old now and still think back once and awhile about it. I have had a great life without him. He moved away and I never saw him again. He did reach out and sent me a letter out of the blue about 4 yrs later. I couldn’t believe it. I think just to ease his gilt. I wrote back the nastiest letter back. I wasn’t going to let him off the hook. No regrets!
I’m an Asheville, NC girl living in Charleston, SC for 9 years. Helene menaced us in Charleston. We huddled in our closet for 3 hours starting at 3am with back-to-back tornado warnings, but nothing happened, thank God. She flew by on her black wings that night like a 70 mph freight train on her way to destroy my hometown and region in Asheville. The devastation is mind boggling and my heart is with my people there. But, Somehow God spared the lives of all my family and friends. I’m so proud of my people, Susan. No power, no water, no cell, no internet and yet when the storm passed everyone I know came out if their houses and started helping their neighbors and still are. Please pray for Western North Carolina. There’s a long long way to go, but I am safe. ❤ Happy birthday, Desi🎉
Susan, how in the world did you train Desi to sing like an opera star? My beloved yellow cat, Toby, just looks at me when I try to get him to sing along. He slow-blinks his eyes and gives me kitty kisses that way but refuses to utter a purr! 🐱😮

If I could tell my younger self something at 65, it would be when they show you who they are, believe them. My second husband was abusive. He gave me signs along the way that I ignored. I suffered 26 years with him because he told me I couldn't do it without me. I'm wiser now.
We women just want to believe they will change. Our love can heal them. It can take a long time to come out of that fantasy we carry in our heart. The main thing is we learn!
We were in the eye of the storm. House damage, large trees down, no water, no power, no internet and no phone service for a week, but praise the Lord noone was hurt. The storm happened on my husband's 90th birthday. He and I had several wonderful talks, at night in the dark. That storm although horrifying was a blessing, you properly said things that you normally wouldn’t discuss. Things deep in your hearts. What a strange blessing. I live in Fl and there were constant tornado alarms around us . All day long . Less than a few miles from us an EF3 took out 100 homes or damaged them in a newer development of young families … 10 miles up the road another tornado took out more homes in another development. Glad that we you and your husband are safe.. l have been saying prayers for the victims of these horrific storms.
What I don’t care about anymore? I’m very tall 6ft 3” and 70. The cruel comments have been legion. But I decided I could either hate myself all my life or learn to not care about the looks, comments, cruelty, rejection and hostility. I’m glad I decided that when I was young or my life would have been truly awful.
I asked God to give me a husband that loved Him more than anything else. Because I knew then that he would love me rightly. And after 15 years of waiting God sent my precious man of God. He loves Jesus more than anything and says he loves me next. God is so faithful. Now 20 years later he still loves God and loves me next. Hallelujah to the One I love.

I married a foreign man I met while in the Army. He pursued me and I would always joke he needed a green card Lol. He was average looking, but I luved the sound of his voice and sense of humor. I wanted the divorce he didn't. He's remarried per face book thru my friend. I have no children by choice. Definitely the voice and humor are key for me. Having lost my dog almost 3 yrs ago, this is what I miss most. Turning 70 the end of Oct. I'm looking to volunteer at my local animal shelter for now. My sister wants to know how many I adopt. Ha ha! After 38 years the same man, six years of infertility, but having a miracle and having twins that are now almost 30 years old, I found out six years ago, my “ husband”, was having an affair with a coworker, 20 years younger, just because he could. Susan, I enjoyed every aspect of your video but there was one part that really hit home with me and that was when you spoke of men not giving or showing affection toward their spouse. I am 79 years old, my husband is 81 and we have been married for 56 years. He tells me EVERY day that he loves me, he tells me I look nice or that I'm pretty and he tells me that he is proud of me! When I went back to work full time at the age of 50 after being a stay at home mom he did the food shopping and cooked the evening meal because not only was I working but also going to graduate school at night! And what did I now realize?? I have been taking all this affection for granted but after this video Not Any More!!! I am sitting here thanking God for him and the love we share. I have two sons who I witness showing warmth and affection toward their wives so they had a good role model. My daughter, sadly, is not so lucky. Love spending Sunday morning with you and Desi!
Expecting 500 at florida shelters but 1700 came!!! Bus loads came during the night with dogs. No one turned away. I had a grade school desk I used and met like 5 gals alone too and we had fun talking. Two different handsome cops would take turns as they walked by and whisper in my ear!! Ofcourse I giggled and flirted right back!! One whispered " did ya get that report done yet or must I go after you??" I said " hey baby bring it on!!" We then giggle. It kept my mind off storm by banter with them. My new pals said " omg they are cute" it was like a huge pj party with strangers who were so nice. My home had very minor issues. Thank God
I begged when I was seven months pregnant, didn’t do any good. Spilt anyway but quickly asked me back. I should have said no, he only got meaner. After 3 boys & 13 years, I couldn’t take his abuse anymore. I thought I could show my love and it would magically fix my marriage. It made him meaner & I started hating myself. I used to have 3 dogs and as of 3 weeks ago, now I have none. I really enjoyed Desi singing. At some point I will get another dog,but not right now. My cat is 17 years old and my dogs lived until 17,19 and unknown but at least 18. I am 70, soon to be 71 and I don’t think I was cheated on (except one guy in high school). I thought Yul Brenner was the sexiest most attractive man ever! My husband died 17 years ago and I have had one serious relationship since then, but honestly I am content with my own company and the company of friends. I found out my fiancé had been cheating on me a month before our wedding. We stayed together and then, 10 days before the wedding, he called and told me he couldn't go through with the wedding. I was sad I wasn't getting married, but I had such peace. I married 2 years later and have been happily married to the same man for 40 years. My former fiancé? He married the girl he cheated on me with and they got divorced a few years after that...

You make me laugh...I am a Widow and sometimes I enjoy being alone....About 5 minutes per month I miss being with a man, at about 3 minutes I get goose bumps, but than I start thinking about cleaning the bathroom, cooking what he wants for dinner, laundry etc...I know that sounds selfish, but you last Husband was a narcissist.....my Son lives in TN, WHERE the storm went through and they are fine.. My Granddaughter lives 30 mins away and her town lost bridges also electricity for a week, and now she is fine, Thank God! ❤
I believe because you are genuine and you share your heart; you are honest and it lets each one of us relate to so much of what you share. Women don't visit, have coffee, talk about their marriage their kids, lift up and support one another. So many women work, are running their kids to sports, practices and events, so younger women don't have that woman to woman support and encouragement. I am 79 and I find most women my age are just surviving and have little interest or knowledge outside of their immediate family. Also, I have a high maintenance husband (a lot due to his health & a lot due to his PTSD) and most of my energy, both physical and emotional is spent taking care of him and doing all the work to maintain my home and yard. I really don't have the energy to spend on friendship. So, I grab a few minutes to share with you each week. And thank you for loving Desi so well. He's such a sweetie.

I was devestatd but he taught me through all that hearbreak that I am strong and now I am remaried to a wonderful, kind man who loves me. I love hearing about your life and seeing you each week here . thank you for being you and sharing your life with me. I am 64 and my life atared over at 59. I am grateful for all the Lord has blessed me with. Two beautiful daughters and 4 wonderful gradchildren. and now I get to spend the rest of my liife with my husband of a year and a half and my family.
My late husband always loved and treated me so kindly. My heart was always so warm in his presence. We mutually adored each other, and we were very affectionate. We were so close, loving and connected. I never found another relationship like that. I wish that loving experience for everyone.
That will never happen in my life. It hurts my heart to know that others were given the kind of relationship you had with your husband and I was not. What was there about me that I did not receive tender, gentle love from the man I married ? Constant rudeness, criticism , and coarse speech has ruined my love for this man. 45 years is how long I have tried to accept that he is broken and doesn’t want to be repaired. In his mind , he is fine. We did not have children. Now, he is sick. I resent that I am his caregiver. We have some good days, fun days even. But, he has never ever loved me. I think maybe he is a narcissist.
I had a marriage like yours for 38 years. He died 2 years ago and my life has never been the same. It's different and as much as I loved him, I've accepted a future I never wanted. I "am" happy and enjoy life. I've gone to France with my youngest daughter and granddaughter and have carved a different way of going forward. I will never date and just the thought makes me cringe. I would compare constantly and it wouldn't be fair to the other person. My husband was one in a million and I'm so grateful I met him over 41 years ago.

I was 17 and he was 19, got married because I was pregnant.. we were married 10 years. Well I thought he wasn’t giving me enough love and attention, so I divorced him.. I met a man that I thought was better. We’ve been married now 42 years. Well after about 10 years of this marriage my husband started ignoring me and became very self centered. I think with a lot of men, they give women attention when they want to pursue you and want sex, but as they get older and lose their sex drive, they don’t think they have to show affection like they use to. I know all men aren’t that way, but I see a lot of unhappy women out there that feel like they’re living alone, even though they’re married. I really love seeing older couples that still look like they love each other and show affection! P.S. I have lost all my feelings of love for my husband because he doesn’t show any love for me. Sarasota FL here. We evacuated about 10 miles east. We were fine. It was a big scary storm, I was literally shaking and couldn't eat for a few days before the storm hit. Our house was fine, electric came on today. The neighborhood looks like a bomb hit it.
I spent 62 years in FL. Could never plan a birthday party because odds were there would be a hurricane on September 10th. Trust me, your neighborhood will rebuild. Important thing is that you are safe and have power...

My hubby bought me a gold charm bracelet the first year we were married. It had a scorpion and a virgin for our astrological signs. It also had a typewriter. I was a secretary. It had a comical bird with the words "worry bird" written on its base. As the years went by he added 2 gold spheres (1 when my son was born and one for my daughter). Then came a small gold globe, and a computer (all miniatures, of course). I recently gave it to my granddaughter. The other one got my engagement ring and my daughter got my 25th Anniversary diamond.

It warms my heart every week when I get to see you and Desi singing.. btw you did an excellent job on his haircut. Can’t tell it wasn’t professional. He’s a handsome guy. In answer to one of the questions, I had my heart broken by my husband many years ago when he left me for a much younger woman. He had 2 children with her. We had none. One day many years later, he called out of the blue to tell say he always loved me. Of course, you guessed it, she left him with the children and I guess he thought I’d come running back. He was wrong. It did sadden my heart when I found out he passed away in 2022. Some of the old feelings came flooding back for a moment.

I’m divorced, he left me for another woman. I was devastated but survived. It really helps to be part of a community meaning your RUclips channel. Oh how long for someone to really love me, but for now, I must breathe and carry on alone. I’m not really alone. I have my furry kid. My dog Tessa. And of course, my grandchildren bring me such joy and are a blessing from the marriage that didn’t work out.

I'm fortunate at 62 to say that I haven't experienced being cheated on. However it happened to my mother when I was growing up and my father went on to marry the woman for 44 years. But oh my how graceful and elegant my mother remained. Through the grace of God, us children and the great example she lived is remarkable. She's 88 and is still loving life fully. I was fortunate but did lose my husband to a heart attack. This type of grief is a moment of healing in itself. Men age so very well and women tend to put pressure on themselves. My partner of almost 18 years has his own place in a town 40 miles away. Only comes on a weekend but I can’t complain because he helps with yard work and other things that need fixing. There is no affection ; really nothing , but I’m grateful for his help. I miss being with someone who would hold me and say the things you mentioned in your video . At my age, (78), I now have given up on ever finding love again. He isn’t able to be affectionate in any way and thinks it’s just fine of how we get along😢. He has said many times that he can’t give me what I’m looking for . He knows that I have always been a very loving person. I continue to stay with him . At least we have each other on weekends to go out to eat and once in a while take a day trip somewhere, but it feels so lonely to have a partner who really is not part of my life every day. 18 years of this is a very long time. I really and truly hate to tell you this, but it’s only fair to just say it. Your partner probably has more than one woman in his life. My dear, don’t you see that a little lawn work and an occasional meal out is not enough to qualify as a partnership? He told you quite clearly that physical affection will never be part of the relationship. Perhaps he would feel like he was cheating on his other woman if he offered you even a hug, hand holding, a peck on the cheek?. My dear Aunt maintained a relationship with a man whose wife had been dead for many years. She was 83 and he was 87. They would travel and have separate rooms , because he said he would never “ sleep” with another woman. He took that old euphemism for sex literally. It’s almost laughable now that they are both gone. My point for you is this, when something doesn’t seem quite right, maybe that’s because it isn’t. Have you ever visited his home? Has he found excuses why it wouldn’t be convenient?
I read your comment. Yes, I have been to his place . The reason he will not change is because he wants to live near his family and grandkids. They all live within a 2-3 mile range. He is happy living alone and is set in his old ways. Affection is not part of his personality but helping me is something he enjoys. It’s a very confusing and weird kind of relationship and I never thought that at my age , I would always be alone, except on weekends.

I was at the farm where my two miniature horses are boarded and I was talking to my friend about my little gelding. He’s 21 years old, he runs away from me and is hard to catch, he went for professional training to carriage drive and failed (it cost thousands in equipment and training), him and his buddy got salmonella and his buddy didn’t survive (it cost thousands in vet bills) but I love him. I just love him and I fondly call him my lawn ornament. My friend laughed and said, “Every girl needs a bad boy.” I laughed so hard I snorted. I wasn’t expecting that comment and I desperately needed that laugh. Happy Birthday, Desi.

That Irish Blessing is my most favorite one😂 My husband of 13 years and father of my 5 sons who were aged 10 years to 8 months old cheated on me for a few weeks and I found out from the woman's son who was in the same class as my #2 son. It was just like a punch in the gut. So I kicked him out and moved on. Divorce was final in 1997 and I'm still on my own with all the memories and the good times and 3 nearly grown grandsons. Life is about lessons. Looks like Desi had a wonderful birthday. What a little sweetie he is. Wish it could be put in a bottle and given to every man who never learned or has chosen to have a wife without being a husband. Just a little bit of consideration, respect and sincere affection makes a HUGE difference. We tire of giving in, making sacrifices and letting things slide because they lack the ability to be kind, thoughtful, and loving and taking the time to give a kiss before bedtime. After 42 years together, I divorced him. He was the love of my life. I was nothing more than the maid. Took care of everything and he was the wage earner for the family. Now at 70, I am alone, but never lonely. I developed my own style, got a dog, and I truly enjoy my way of life now. I put everyone before me, and took care of every thing and every one but myself. I do not look back because God does not want me to live in the past. Happy Birthday Desi. I have a Dixie Grace, a one year old female doberman. Only you can make yourself content and happy. Took me a while to learn that lesson.

This sweet puppy made my morning! One thing about having a dog in your life is they love you totally unconditionally and with all of their hearts! 💕 plus they await your arrival with anticipation and excitement just to hear your voice and give you all the attention you want, need and deserve! Added plus…whichever one leaves this earth first the other one will know how much that one gave their heart totally to you and no one else! Answer to the hottest date I ever had was going for a midnight boat ride with the moon casting its aluminas light over the peaceful lake. My date had a blanket to cover us up( it was in October) and had a bottle of iced down Champagne and some fresh strawberries. I fell for him at that moment! He was a very talented water skier, very tone and charming. We both loved the water, the changing of the leaves 🍁 in the mountains and simple things in life. He could always make me smile and just enjoy his company. I found out he has passed on not long ago. Yet I will always remember him on that very romantic night. ❤

My husband would never cheat, because I would not tolerate it. I would never cheat, because I have a wonderful husband. There are too many important places to go and bucket lists to accomplish in our lifetime. Why waste time with another person?
My first husband cheated on me. I was 24 yrs old he was 30. We married in Oct and I found out he was cheating in Feb. He had been cheating with this married women he met at his job while we were planning our wedding. I never felt pain like that . I cried for months. Couldn’t work
. Lost 20 lbs. It was devastating . I didn’t want him back. He wanted to try to work things out but there was no way I could forgive him. We had this big church wedding. I was so humiliated by what he did. I can say it has made me a stronger person. If I got through that I could do anything. I just couldn’t believe someone could hurt another human being like that. I am 70 yrs old now and still think back once and awhile about it. I have had a great life without him. He moved away and I never saw him again. He did reach out and sent me a letter out of the blue about 4 yrs later. I couldn’t believe it. I think just to ease his gilt. I wrote back the nastiest letter back. I wasn’t going to let him off the hook. No regrets!

Helene menaced us in Charleston. We huddled in our closet for 3 hours starting at 3am with back-to-back tornado warnings, but nothing happened, thank God.
She flew by on her black wings that night like a 70 mph freight train on her way to destroy my hometown and region in Asheville.
The devastation is mind boggling and my heart is with my people there. But, Somehow God spared the lives of all my family and friends. I’m so proud of my people, Susan. No power, no water, no cell, no internet and yet when the storm passed everyone I know came out if their houses and started helping their neighbors and still are.
Please pray for Western North Carolina. There’s a long long way to go, but I am safe. ❤

We were in the eye of the storm. House damage, large trees down, no water, no power, no internet and no phone service for a week, but praise the Lord noone was hurt. The storm happened on my husband's 90th birthday. He and I had several wonderful talks, at night in the dark. That storm although horrifying was a blessing, you properly said things that you normally wouldn’t discuss. Things deep in your hearts. What a strange blessing. I live in Fl and there were constant tornado alarms around us . All day long . Less than a few miles from us an EF3 took out 100 homes or damaged them in a newer development of young families … 10 miles up the road another tornado took out more homes in another development. Glad that we you and your husband are safe.. l have been saying prayers for the victims of these horrific storms.

I married a foreign man I met while in the Army. He pursued me and I would always joke he needed a green card Lol. He was average looking, but I luved the sound of his voice and sense of humor. I wanted the divorce he didn't. He's remarried per face book thru my friend. I have no children by choice. Definitely the voice and humor are key for me. Susan, I enjoyed every aspect of your video but there was one part that really hit home with me and that was when you spoke of men not giving or showing affection toward their spouse. I am 79 years old, my husband is 81 and we have been married for 56 years. He tells me EVERY day that he loves me, he tells me I look nice or that I'm pretty and he tells me that he is proud of me! When I went back to work full time at the age of 50 after being a stay at home mom he did the food shopping and cooked the evening meal because not only was I working but also going to graduate school at night! And what did I now realize?? I have been taking all this affection for granted but after this video Not Any More!!! I am sitting here thanking God for him and the love we share. I have two sons who I witness showing warmth and affection toward their wives so they had a good role model. My daughter, sadly, is not so lucky. Love spending Sunday morning with you and Desi!

Expecting 500 at florida shelters but 1700 came!!! Bus loads came during the night with dogs. No one turned away. I had a grade school desk I used and met like 5 gals alone too and we had fun talking. Two different handsome cops would take turns as they walked by and whisper in my ear!! Ofcourse I giggled and flirted right back!! One whispered " did ya get that report done yet or must I go after you??" I said " hey baby bring it on!!" We then giggle. It kept my mind off storm by banter with them. My new pals said " omg they are cute" it was like a huge pj party with strangers who were so nice. My home had very minor issues. Thank God
I begged when I was seven months pregnant, didn’t do any good. Spilt anyway but quickly asked me back. I should have said no, he only got meaner. After 3 boys & 13 years, I couldn’t take his abuse anymore. I thought I could show my love and it would magically fix my marriage. It made him meaner & I started hating myself. I am old now, alone & ok. God bless you & yours

I used to have 3 dogs and as of 3 weeks ago, now I have none. I really enjoyed Desi singing. At some point I will get another dog,but not right now. My cat is 17 years old and my dogs lived until 17,19 and unknown but at least 18. I am 70, soon to be 71 and I don’t think I was cheated on (except one guy in high school). I thought Yul Brenner was the sexiest most attractive man ever! My husband died 17 years ago and I have had one serious relationship since then, but honestly I am content with my own company and the company of friends. I believe because you are genuine and you share your heart; you are honest and it lets each one of us relate to so much of what you share. Women don't visit, have coffee, talk about their marriage their kids, lift up and support one another. So many women work, are running their kids to sports, practices and events, so younger women don't have that woman to woman support and encouragement. I am 79 and I find most women my age are just surviving and have little interest or knowledge outside of their immediate family. Also, I have a high maintenance husband (a lot due to his health & a lot due to his PTSD) and most of my energy, both physical and emotional is spent taking care of him and doing all the work to maintain my home and yard. I really don't have the energy to spend on friendship. So, I grab a few minutes to share with you each week. And thank you for loving Desi so well. He's such a sweetie.

My late husband always loved and treated me so kindly. My heart was always so warm in his presence. We mutually adored each other, and we were very affectionate. We were so close, loving and connected. I never found another relationship like that. I wish that loving experience for everyone.
That will never happen in my life. It hurts my heart to know that others were given the kind of relationship you had with your husband and I was not. What was there about me that I did not receive tender, gentle love from the man I married ? Constant rudeness, criticism , and coarse speech has ruined my love for this man. 45 years is how long I have tried to accept that he is broken and doesn’t want to be repaired. In his mind , he is fine. We did not have children. Now, he is sick. I resent that I am his caregiver. We have some good days, fun days even. But, he has never ever loved me. I think maybe he is a narcissist.
I had a marriage like yours for 38 years. He died 2 years ago and my life has never been the same. It's different and as much as I loved him, I've accepted a future I never wanted. I "am" happy and enjoy life. I've gone to France with my youngest daughter and granddaughter and have carved a different way of going forward. I will never date and just the thought makes me cringe. I would compare constantly and it wouldn't be fair to the other person. My husband was one in a million and I'm so grateful I met him over 41 years ago.

Susan, I really enjoy you so much! You always speak to my heart! I am 71, divorced my first husband, mainly because I was too young to know what was what! I was 17 and he was 19, got married because I was pregnant.. we were married 10 years. Well I thought he wasn’t giving me enough love and attention, so I divorced him.. I met a man that I thought was better. We’ve been married now 42 years. Well after about 10 years of this marriage my husband started ignoring me and became very self centered. I think with a lot of men, they give women attention when they want to pursue you and want sex, but as they get older and lose their sex drive, they don’t think they have to show affection like they use to. I know all men aren’t that way, but I see a lot of unhappy women out there that feel like they’re living alone, even though they’re married. I really love seeing older couples that still look like they love each other and show affection!
P.S. I have lost all my feelings of love for my husband because he doesn’t show any love for me. Thank you for coming back each week to share your life! ❤

Sarasota FL here. We evacuated about 10 miles east. We were fine. It was a big scary storm, I was literally shaking and couldn't eat for a few days before the storm hit. Our house was fine, electric came on today. The neighborhood looks like a bomb hit it.
I spent 62 years in FL. Could never plan a birthday party because odds were there would be a hurricane on September 10th. Trust me, your neighborhood will rebuild. Important thing is that you are safe and have power...

My hubby bought me a gold charm bracelet the first year we were married. It had a scorpion and a virgin for our astrological signs. It also had a typewriter. I was a secretary. It had a comical bird with the words "worry bird" written on its base. As the years went by he added 2 gold spheres (1 when my son was born and one for my daughter). Then came a small gold globe, and a computer (all miniatures, of course). I recently gave it to my granddaughter. The other one got my engagement ring and my daughter got my 25th Anniversary diamond.

It warms my heart every week when I get to see you and Desi singing.. btw you did an excellent job on his haircut. Can’t tell it wasn’t professional. He’s a handsome guy. In answer to one of the questions, I had my heart broken by my husband many years ago when he left me for a much younger woman. He had 2 children with her. We had none. One day many years later, he called out of the blue to tell say he always loved me. Of course, you guessed it, she left him with the children and I guess he thought I’d come running back. He was wrong. It did sadden my heart when I found out he passed away in 2022. Some of the old feelings came flooding back for a moment.

I’m divorced, he left me for another woman. I was devastated but survived. It really helps to be part of a community meaning your RUclips channel. Oh how long for someone to really love me, but for now, I must breathe and carry on alone. I’m not really alone. I have my furry kid. My dog Tessa. And of course, my grandchildren bring me such joy and are a blessing from the marriage that didn’t work out.

Happy Birthday Desi! Love that little dog. I have a 16 yr. old Jack Russell and he is my companion now. My husband died 4 years ago. We had been married 60 yrs. I did meet someone a couple of yrs. ago who set me on my heels, but it only lasted for a very short time. It is hard to be alone, but I am learning every day. I do enjoy your program.
I'm fortunate at 62 to say that I haven't experienced being cheated on. However it happened to my mother when I was growing up and my father went on to marry the woman for 44 years. But oh my how graceful and elegant my mother remained. Through the grace of God, us children and the great example she lived is remarkable. She's 88 and is still loving life fully. I was fortunate but did lose my husband to a heart attack. This type of grief is a moment of healing in itself. Men age so very well and women tend to put pressure on themselves. I vowed to Never do this and I have aged wonderfully as my mother says. Why worry over it ladies. Take care of yourselves It'll reward you 💟

I’m mostly alone in my house. My partner of almost 18 years has his own place in a town 40 miles away. Only comes on a weekend but I can’t complain because he helps with yard work and other things that need fixing. There is no affection ; really nothing , but I’m grateful for his help. I miss being with someone who would hold me and say the things you mentioned in your video . At my age, (78), I now have given up on ever finding love again. He isn’t able to be affectionate in any way and thinks it’s just fine of how we get along😢. He has said many times that he can’t give me what I’m looking for . He knows that I have always been a very loving person. I continue to stay with him . At least we have each other on weekends to go out to eat and once in a while take a day trip somewhere, but it feels so lonely to have a partner who really is not part of my life every day. 18 years of this is a very long time. I keep busy with my flower garden , and much else . When you have a house , there is always work to be done. Your videos are always the highlight of my week. Love to you and Desi. ❤️❤️
I really and truly hate to tell you this, but it’s only fair to just say it. Your partner probably has more than one woman in his life. My dear, don’t you see that a little lawn work and an occasional meal out is not enough to qualify as a partnership? He told you quite clearly that physical affection will never be part of the relationship. Perhaps he would feel like he was cheating on his other woman if he offered you even a hug, hand holding, a peck on the cheek?. My dear Aunt maintained a relationship with a man whose wife had been dead for many years. She was 83 and he was 87. They would travel and have separate rooms , because he said he would never “ sleep” with another woman. He took that old euphemism for sex literally. It’s almost laughable now that they are both gone. My point for you is this, when something doesn’t seem quite right, maybe that’s because it isn’t. Have you ever visited his home? Has he found excuses why it wouldn’t be convenient?
I read your comment. Yes, I have been to his place . The reason he will not change is because he wants to live near his family and grandkids. They all live within a 2-3 mile range. He is happy living alone and is set in his old ways. Affection is not part of his personality but helping me is something he enjoys. It’s a very confusing and weird kind of relationship and I never thought that at my age , I would always be alone, except on weekends.

I was at the farm where my two miniature horses are boarded and I was talking to my friend about my little gelding. He’s 21 years old, he runs away from me and is hard to catch, he went for professional training to carriage drive and failed (it cost thousands in equipment and training), him and his buddy got salmonella and his buddy didn’t survive (it cost thousands in vet bills) but I love him. I just love him and I fondly call him my lawn ornament. My friend laughed and said, “Every girl needs a bad boy.” I laughed so hard I snorted. I wasn’t expecting that comment and I desperately needed that laugh.

As for the attraction to a fellow, mind would be the same as yours and I would have to include a man who understands me and who I really am, not only on the outside but the inside and my heart is the most important and yes, to be interactive in conversation and not expecting this or that but to be a partner in everything even in conversation. That Irish Blessing is my most favorite one😂 My husband of 13 years and father of my 5 sons who were aged 10 years to 8 months old cheated on me for a few weeks and I found out from the woman's son who was in the same class as my #2 son. It was just like a punch in the gut. So I kicked him out and moved on. Divorce was final in 1997 and I'm still on my own with all the memories and the good times and 3 nearly grown grandsons. Life is about lessons.

Hello Susan, you are 100% correct about relationships, communication, and affection. Wish it could be put in a bottle and given to every man who never learned or has chosen to have a wife without being a husband. Just a little bit of consideration, respect and sincere affection makes a HUGE difference. We tire of giving in, making sacrifices and letting things slide because they lack the ability to be kind, thoughtful, and loving and taking the time to give a kiss before bedtime. Do men mirror their own fathers? I don’t know. What I do know is that husbands who use you as an outlet for sexual needs, a housekeeper, cook, laundry doer, who also is self supporting, in charge of arranging all appointments, repairs to house, manages 99% of all aspects of children’s needs it causes a fracture in the relationship.
