I believe the sound you heard was a female owl calling for her mate. I have heard them many times on my property to varying degrees of pitch. The other noises that followed I have no clue. Please tell me you are armed when you are out in the wild like this. Its not always the animals you have to worry about. Its the humans that use our woods for all kinds of nefarious activities that I am watchful for. Be safe out there.
This is a good explanation as well as some keen advice. It reminds me of those elk diaphragm calls that go on the roof of your mouth. That's where my mind went... This is also why I try to go places where other humans aren't. To hopefully rule the human factor out. Us people seem to be everywhere though...
@@thehoggattproject Yes, unfortunately, we humans are prolific. I am a retired forest service ranger and I can tell you that Mexican cartels are using our national park lands and forest to grow cannabis and manufacture other drugs. They are everywhere and go deep in the woods where they think no one will disturb them. This is why I recommend everyone be armed when they go into our park lands and woods. It's a sad reality of how things are now. Good luck. Love the videos.
Like Bildad in the Book of Job, "We are but of yesterday and know nothing." The Earth is mine and everything therein saith the Lord God Jehovah! Nothing better than walking in the woods and being amongst the trees which God maketh! They are the Lungs of the Earth! Thanks for the wilderness video!
It reminds me of that movie I heart Huckabees at the dinner scene. Albert says, "I'm talking about not covering every square inch of populated America with houses and strip malls until you can't even remember what happens when you stand in a meadow at dusk". It's one of those things you got to get out and do just to see how exhilarating it can be.
I've had this happen a few times where I get some electrical interference while out in the sticks. This day and age it very well could be some kind of cloaking device.
I thought it might be a lens reflection from the camera, but if you slow it down to 25% it doesn't seem to follow the same movements as the headlamp. That is weird!
That is a great question! If I were near the beginning of the trail, I probably would have taken the hint and head back to my vehicle. However, if I were already near or at my destination (the clearing), then I would hold my ground. The woods were simply too dense to go back through them in the dark. It also depends on whether or not I was by myself. I've had this happen before when I was with another person, and we investigated it. We didn't see anyone or anything that night, but the next morning we found a survival shelter about 1/2 mile away. That suggests that another human may have been doing it. My question is: If we caught whoever (or whatever) was doing it... what happens next?
I hope you are packing a firearm. I never go into the woods here in America without a gun. The one time I did not carry a gun in South Carolina, a wild boar chased me and my little border terrier up a blown down tree. God was looking after us, because the tree was a few steps away. I swore never I go in the woods with out a gun after that. Perhaps one in a million chance that, that happened, but it did! Plus, there are to many weirdos out there as well.
That is quite the experience, glad no one got seriously hurt. Wild boars are vicious! I've been lucky with how many times I've been out in the wild not to have too many dangerous situations arise, but I have seen a handful (both people and animals). One in particular I'm thinking of, was when I went for a bike ride through a wooded electrical powerline easement. I stumbled upon a family of elk crossing from one side to the other and the bull threatened to charge me. Even though I was about 60 yards, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to turn around and pedal off fast enough lol.
That squealing noise you heard I'm pretty sure those were frog farts. You know how tight there asses are. Also, those noises that sound like jets. Na! Na!, that was big foot urinating against a tree.
@@franciscocontreras1208 For this trip I was late arriving there. I didn't think the woods would get so dark so fast, and when you are filming everything takes longer... I knew the spot I had in mind opened up though and that was my saving grace 🙌 All in all, it was neat spot and plan on going back someday.
I thought it might be an elk, never saw what it was though. This next video I've got has a run-in with an owl, but it was more of the silent assassin type.
I'm only 2:34 mins into this video and I didn't even read the title. And I was thinking is this a horror movie he's doing and why does he always do these videos as it's about to get dark, especially as this is my second video of yours. Are in the UK they go out about 2 to 3 hours before it gets dark to set up and prepare. Like lights and fire burning in a fire pit.s please do the same
Yeah, I must be a procrastinator haha. Most of the time I make a plan to get out there early it just doesn't pan out that way. I still think it's better to go late than not at all though. Thanks for your comments!

I appreciate that info, and thank you kindly 🙏

You are so brave doing what you do. Stay safe. By the way. Great photography 🙂
I appreciate the positive vibes 🎶 Thank you kindly.
A screech owl.
Good call! I was thinking it could be an elk.
@@thehoggattprojectsorry but that is nothing like an elk. Owl
What part of Washington? I grew up there on both sides of the mountains.
This trip was out towards Monroe.
At 16min 32 seconds in there is a glamour/cloaking in the bottom rt corner the camera is trying to reset itself but you can clearly see the movement

A big Set of Eyes at 8:07

I have been hunting for almost 50 years! I have yet to hear anything that i could not identify!
Right on! So, was this an owl, deer, or something else?
It's a hawk!!
What would you have done if a stone was thrown towards you ?.👣👣🥃🏴

Creepy video clip of night investigation in the woods. Something lurking in those woods !
Yes, someone (or something) besides me...
I noticed you don't make mention of a gun i never go out in the woods without at least a 357 magnum 😊
It's definitely good advice. The times I don't bring mine, I wish I would have for piece of mind if nothing else.
Thats an owl..
Just be careful, there are things that are better kept far away. Things that see you But you can't look back.
I agree. I was happy to get a fire going that night...
It’s a Munster😅
That is a dogman running in the background at 8.20/21.
@@jeanneoconnor6630 Yeah, don't know what that was! Could have been a set of eyes or a moth? Freaky!

Surely you know what noise a owl makes. Well that sounds like an owl 🦉 to me,
