I have made these for over a year now - thank you so much for this video! I have a stand at the local farmers market and people come to my stand JUST for these pitas! ❤ they are SO good! I changed the recipe ever so slightly to deal with my extra large batch and use a tortilla press before rolling it out :) also i do 3 at a time on a cast iron pizza stone on my stove top. I've found the dough rises in about an hour. Also 3 burners going around medium low is perfect for super soft pitas. Perhaps they take a bit longer but it avoids burn marks. 68 pitas and 100% poof rate this past week 👍

EDIT: The pitas turned out great! I cooked a half-batch and put the rest of the dough in the fridge for later. I made 6 small pitas and 4 puffed, so not bad for the first time on a griddle. I always try a recipe as written the first time, then tweak if needed, so since I use higher-protein King Arthur flours the dough was a bit drier than yours. Next time I'll add a bit more water to get a stickier texture so it's like what you show. Going to do it again next week! So glad I found your video! I'm an experienced home bread baker but had only tried pita once a few years ago, where the recipe finished with baking in the oven. I only had a 50% success rate on the puff, but I'm betting it'll be much higher on top of the stove! There's just 20 minutes left in the first rise, so I'll update my comment in about an hour to let you know how they turned out. THANKS for such a clear video, and for including tips on how to correct anything that might go haywire. (I've taught computer software and sewing for years, and just wanted to add that you are a GREAT teacher. 🙂 )

My favorite Persian fast food place put long thin falafel patties & tahini on top of pita. They rolled it tight like a cigar & served shirazi salad on side. Every bite was perfection.
getting the skillet to the right temperature is the trick after you've mastered making dough. And make sure you are not hungry when watching this, otherwise you might find yourself making pitas at 3 am. lol
This is the best pita video out there! Thank you for covering all the potential problems that come up and showing how each one cooks a little differently. I made them last night and loved them! Thank you!!
This was an incredibly helpful tutorial on homemade cooking as it covered the very basic of my doubts.. eg. How to store the dough, how to store the end product, the texture while kneading and throught kneading etc. The various scenarios that we may encounter while cooking the pita was indeed the highlight of the video for me! Thanks for a complete video.
This video is perfection! I don't think ever I've seen a recipe presentation that is so informative. You explain in detail each step and show the results, and I appreciate that you fully show us how the dough should look and feel. You make this look so easy! I had a tiring time this evening trying out all the steps you showed, seeing the dough puff up to an almost round though was a sweet reward!! Thank you! 👍🏻
Oh really? It worked? 😁
So well done! And you explain every detail on how to achieve a successful pita. You included cases where it may not go as planned and instructions on what to do. Thank you so much! I will definitely try your pita recipe. 😋
Such a well narrated, detailed video. Keep up the good work. U also covered the management of pita dough.

Nice presentation and excellent explanation I felt as if I was attending the food production class during my college days
You taught me my first pita bread and it was awesome. I couldn't find your video for my second time of making them... and saw another video (which clearly didnt help at all) but Thank God I found you, and saved the video lol 😅💜💕 Thank you sooo much.
Thanks a million for the lovely explanations. You have a great way of saying just the right amount with your lovely accent. Thanks, you're great

Tnk U, I've been looking for some time for a DIY on making pitas & flatbreads. I like how U showed me how the dough should look. All the tips & comments are so helpful. Excellent !!
Only after trying to prepare my first flat bread, I did appreciated how good Your tutorial is. Your recipe seemed to me to complicate so I went for a simpler one but when things did not work I came back to your vidio. Thanks to you I know why my bread did not puff. I messed my first dough making it to dry. Next time I do flat bread, I will watch this tutorial so I am sure everyrhing is done how it should be.
Thank you.
Hey Guys.. how have you been.. Let me know whether you like such informative post or want me to make one without any recording and just the music like we did in Fresh Fruit Cake.. :D
Very good video, thank you! I would like to do this in the oven, but I do not see your link to bake the pita bread. Would you please post the link? Thank you!
@@avigilantconsumer41 Hello.. sorry for replying late.. have shared it in the description box but here is the link to recipe for you : spicesnflavors.com/homemade-pita-bread/ thank you
I loved how you showed how to fix things that could go wrong. It is very frustrating to try new things and not know what I’m doing wrong or how to fix it. The detail in how long to kneed was very helpful in making mine.
@@janets232 Your comment just brought a smile on my face.. Feels so good that all your efforts are appreciated. With this video I wanted everyone who sees it feel confident to try breads at home I am so glad to know that it helped you.. Thanks a bunch for sharing your thoughts
SpicesNFlavors Your video is very informative and the bread you made looks amazing.. But it grossed me out that you were wearing a ring on your finger while making the dough... Not very hygienic..
Made them today, and oh my lord are those amazing. Ok, maybe not all of them puffed up like yours (but I made them with my 2 year old daughter and I know where we did wrong) but there was a hole :) and warmed up these are also very food.
This is something I Will be making again and again. And I'm subscribing for more ;)
Cheers from Poland ;)
My favorite Persian fast food place put long thin falafel patties & tahini on top of pita. They rolled it tight like a cigar & served shirazi salad on side. Every bite was perfection.
This is the video that got me THE BEST bread. Thank you. You are an excellent teacher.
getting the skillet to the right temperature is the trick after you've mastered making dough. And make sure you are not hungry when watching this, otherwise you might find yourself making pitas at 3 am. lol
11:14 most beautiful part of the video. Though it's cooking video, reveals psychology of happy life. Nice video.
Perfect! Your video is really good. This is master class here. Add this to you’re repertoire.
That is so sweet of you Brett.. thank you so much
Thank you for the lesson on how to make pita bread! I’ll try it soon.

Actually it is Arabic bread not pita bread nor flatbread as some people call it ... or cmage
Just found your channel. I love how you don’t cut the in between actions. Much more useful.
This is the best pita video out there! Thank you for covering all the potential problems that come up and showing how each one cooks a little differently. I made them last night and loved them! Thank you!!
Wow, thank you! glad to know.. :)
I am so glad to know that you liked it... thank yoy
You are amazing. This is great instruction as it is so useful.Thank you so much.
This video is perfection! I don't think ever I've seen a recipe presentation that is so informative. You explain in detail each step and show the results, and I appreciate that you fully show us how the dough should look and feel. You make this look so easy! I often make flatbread but now it's time for me to graduate to pita. Thank you.
