i think it was just to be a good person for her. she never been a star fot the lenght of time since 17 years old, shes now 90. im glad he did that for her

This is the kind of act that needs to get the golden buzzer. Singers, same act everytime, they all sing. This is different and original, this should have gotten the golden buzzer.
This is a super unique concept, and it was such an original and awesome performance. Never knew that this act would go so well. This type of unique act should have gotten the golden buzzer, not an abundance of singers.
Like I've been saying, its not original, the guy lied straight up on TV. I can do this in an instant. And even without the *cough* cheat cheat I can solve one in 13.7 seconds

When I first saw your work on penn and teller it was the first time in a long time I felt truly baffled, like the feeling we all had seeing our first trick. Much luck and much love mr. Brundage
When Steven mixes up the first cube, he only makes six moves. When he places it in the bag, he probably undoes about 3 or 4 of those moves. As he pulls the cube out of the bag, he undoes the last 2 or 3 moves. You can see him making the final rotation with his little finger at 0:43.
The World's Record for a one handed solve is currently 6.88 seconds (thanks, Micah Ee, for correcting me). An excellent cuber could perform 6 moves in the time he had his hand in the bag, especially if he has practiced the same moves over and over and over. He crumples the bag in order to set up the second part of his performance.
Pause the video at 1:19. Notice that Simon's cube has 4 yellow faces that form a square.
Now pause at 1:33. Steven drops a second cube from the bag, but is holding Simon's cube in the bag with his ring finger and pinkie. He partially crumples the bag with his index and middle fingers, but if you watch closely, he doesn't collapse the entire bottom of the bag like he did the first time. He can't, because Simon's cube is still in there. He quickly drops the bag out of sight.
The cube he dropped from the bag is one that he set up earlier. He takes the solved cube and 'scrambles' it to match 'Simon's' cube. Notice that when he compares the cubes, none of the faces has 4 yellow surfaces that make a square?

cameron posey i cant. What i can tell you though is that you can search for his name and his trick and although you wont have the explanation because it is an expensive trick, you might figure some stuff out watching people reviewing the product that say some stuff that they shouldnt

Yes, he did. He used it on a 90-year old woman, who I don't think deserves it. She is horrible. I think he just gave to her because of the age. If she is 20 years younger or so, she would be x out.

I don't know if you guys noticed it, but if you look closely before Simon hands the rubik's cube to the magician, there were 4 yellow cubes on the bottom (01:21) and when the magician shows the cube he did and the cube Simon "mixed" and it wasn't there anymore. I'm not a magic wizard or something. I just noticed it. Great performance tho

Yep busted it well. He has memorized one scramble. The trick is that there were three cubes in the bag once he put Simons in it. That's why he started scrambeling it before giving it to Simon, it might have been not scrambeled enough and reckognizable when compared to the other pre-scrambeled one. But yeah your observation is the key to all of it. Nice.

Pause on 1:20 where you see one clear side of Simon's mix. Top left white. Top middle orange. Top right blue... etc. write it down. Then look at the six
sides Steven shows at the end. NOT ONE OF THE SIX SIDES MATCHED Simon's. Steven is a lair !!!!

Yes, knew it was him because just like what he said, he is the only guy i know that perform this kind of magic, wait till he throws the unsolved cube from behind then catches it solved. Even Penn and Teller got fooled :D

Firstly, I admit that this trick is very creative and enjoyable. I love his performance very much. Now comes the reveal part:
LOOK AT 1:19 AND 2:20, THE CUBIK SIMON HANDED OVER AT 1:19 IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WITH THE CUBIK WHEN HE REVEALED AT 2:20.
I still like him very much though, because of his unique showmanship and creativity which magicians nowadays seem to be lacking. Looking forward to see his next performance! Some of his professional performance looks crazy hard!
The cube that simon hands over is still in the second bag when he drops it to the floor

Explain the first act then.. When he crushed the bag
Jesus Montijo Simple. The bag contain only one Rubik and seem not being rigged. BUT the Rubik is manipulated in a way that he only need to do 2 or 3 simple turn inside the bag to make it completely solved. All he need is to remember the move sequence beforehand. The time he put the Rubik in the bag and took it out is plenty enough to do that. Need a proof? Look at 0:43 when he took out the Rubik, it looked like just being turned and manipulated.
Admittedly, creative trick but this is at beginner level, anyone can do it with little practice.

watch at 1:19 the face have 4 yellow forming square with a white in corner ......now when he pulls out another cube and matches with it there was no such side .....so either there was 3 cubes in the bag or he never actually put the simon cube in bag

Regardless, top rubik's cube solvers can make it in 10s. All it takes then is to memorise what combinaison you have to put the cube in. It's all the easier as he didn't do that many moves.

This is done well, but I've figured it out. Notice that the combination on the yellow face at 2:26 is completely different to the combination when Simon put it in the bag at 1:19. Therefore, the 'second' Rubiks cube he pulled out at 1:33 is NOT the cube Simon scrambled. Instead, it is a THRID cube with a predetermined scramble, which he replicates with the solved cube. If you pause at 1:33, you can actually see that there are 2 cubes in that bag, and he pulls out another cube instead of Simons.

play it at 0.25 speed from 1:30-1:34 and you'll see that he did not crush the bag properly and you cube see a cubic shape
The uniqueness of Steven's act and how he became a succesful wildcard act makes him one of the most noteworthy contestants of AGT season 11.
At 1:18 you can see one side of Simon's mixed up cube had 4 yellow squares next to each other, after the bag, there was no such side, they were changed inside the bag somehow and the guy used a memorized pattern to mix it up a certain way to make both cubes look the same. It's just how he switched the cubes in the bag that I can't figure out.

They really need more acts like this on the show. Too many singers and dancers. These are the kinds of acts that make AGT so unique!
I've seen Steven do this live and I was in Simon's position for this trick. It is absolutely amazing and I held the cube the entire time.

When Simon gives the cube back you can see a side having 4 yellows together. But when he shows that it's matched in the end, that side isn't there..
So he changed it.. :P
I know how he did it, but I still absolutely love this act. Without going into too much detail, this act is achieved through a combination of Steven's godlike one-handed Rubik's Cube skills, his excellent memory, and more traditional sleight of hand stage magic.
There are tons of competent magicians, and there are quite a few people who are great with Rubik's Cubes, but Steven is the only person I'm aware of to combine those two things and create a truly unique act. This is good stuff.
First trick: he solved it one-handed as he was putting it in and pulling it out of the bag - not as hard as you think for a rubik's cube pro. Second trick: there are three total cubes - one that was already scrambled in a way that he knows how to replicate (again, easy for someone as good as him), one that was given to Simon, and the solved one. The pre-scrambled one was in the bag the entire time until he pulls it out acting as if it's the one Simon just did. You can pause the video and see that Simon's does not match the one he pulls out. Simon's was in the bag as he crumpled it up - notice he immediately puts in on the floor instead of on the table where you could probably tell that there was something still in it. His performance on Penn and Teller was also easy to figure out - I'm blown away he actually fooled them. I'm sure he'll be doing a variation of it for the next round.

Nope, he's right. The trick is mediocre at best, and is playing off of them not paying much attention. "Magic" is about misdirection and deception, not divine forces and implausible solutions.
I thought on on the Pen and Teller show, he gave Teller 2 choices, which means he didn't care how Teller mixed the rubik cube. Therefore I think there were only 2 cubes in the second trick in this show. Perhaps he could remember and change the cube into how he wants it to be (Just my opinion though).
Not to ruin the fun, but Simon's mix was different than the one he put out of the bag so it was already prepared and he knew the positions, still a great act though and I have no clue how he replaced the cubes inside the bag!
He had two bags though, the first he gave Heidi and the second one so it may have to do with that.

The best thing about AGT is that you can see unique acts that you'll never see on other shows. While, on the other hand, you can see a singer literally anywhere. I only like the singers if they do an original piece or sound like sinatra.

Guys, I know how he did that too and there are plenty of people who are giving away all the secrects but yet, can't we just simply admire the beautu of illusion? he did quite a great show there :)
If you pause at 1:19, you will see one side of the Simon's mixed cube. But, at the end both the cubes does not have that exact combination in any of its sides. So, the mixed Simon's cube that was put in was not the one that was taken out. But, the practice to make those moves is incredible.

It was not difficult to see that some of his tricks are just because he's fast and very good with the rubrics cube, but the way he put it into a magic performs was perfect, and it was very creative and original too! This guy is amazing
Why would anyone click "thumbs down" ? I'd like to see the ones who clicked thumbs down and the ones that are leaving negative comments show a video of them doing this- Magic is always fun to watch. This is fun magic and nothing sick or dumb about it, it takes a long time to master skills of any kind. Many people enjoy watching magic like this.

The bag trick was a bait and switch where the mixed cube falls through the bag into his hand and then he crumples the bag quickly to hide the hole in it. The second trick is a distraction where he actually has two cubes in the bag. The last two cubes are trick cubes where when one is mixed the other one locks in the positions corresponding to the mix being held in the audience members hands as he rotates the cells.
Need more magic acts ! They're the best and everyone tries to guess it and it takes so much talent and practice. So much more entertaining than singers

There were 3 cubes on the bag, he just memorized how to mix up colors one way, pretended it was simon who mixed it up and then did it again.
4 yellows was a good catch. You are absolutely right. Good trick though. Now tell me how he does the trick at :50. Looked at it multiple times, doesn't switch the bag, nothing in his hands. Can't figure that one out.

The colours on the cube that Simon handed over to him are in different order than in the two cubes he pulls out and shows in the end. After Simon hands over the cube he shuffles, the cube was never shown again.

Who else has seen him on Penn & Teller: Fool Us? He actually managed to fool them, which obviously isn't an easy thing to do. His act in this audition is just the beginning, he is capable of much more amazing routines.
For those wondering he had a third cube, look at the cube simon gave him, there were 4 yellow in the corner, after he put that in the bag and took it out there were no longer 4 yellow squares in the corner matching

I know how he did the second trick. If you pause at 1:20 you can see that the cube Simon mixed up had four yellow squares in the corner. The magician switched it somehow with a cube he had already mixed and knew how to mix up on another cube to make them identical. You can see this because neither of the identical cubes at the end have four Yellow squares next to each other

Figured out part of the 2nd trick. it is really easy to remember those four yellow when you watch it for the first time.
Yes...he handed back 2 of his own cubes. Easy to figure out. Simon handed him one with 4 yellow squares together. Missing from both final cubes.

That's not the same cube Simon mixed up. One of the edges on Simons was white, orange, blue. None of the edges on the other two cubes was white, orange, blue.

there is a corner piece with white orange and blue, its the first face he shows to the crowd, and there is no way to change the colors of a corner piece, they are fixed. but yes, the cube simon mixed was different from the 2 he showed

My 6 yo son does rubiks cube competitions. I could totally see him doing this at some point. These cubers have a special ability to recognize spacial patterns. They somehow KNOW where each colored square will show up when they twist the cube certain ways. It's how they do blindfolded solves.
Of course, my son is Mensa genius, so I'm positive this man is as well.

Everyone thinking that there is some trick to this guys "magic". He himself has already showed off how he actually does most of this. Specifically his first trick, he's shown that he's capable of solving it one-handed without looking at it. This literally is just a talent of his, nothing more. Like someone flying over a city and being able to draw the whole scene without having to look at a reference from start to finish. I believe his first debut, (at least when I first saw him I think) was on Penn & Tellers show.

why everyone so shocked??? first trick, he solve it with one hand, thats why he said some huge number, but actually "mixed it" just six times. six moves can be done with one hand in like one second, just look at pros with it.
second trick, he had three cubes in back. you can see clearly, when Simon finish with his shuffle, one of sides is wwr ggg gby from the top. Magicians finish cube doesnt have such side.
