The siege and battle of the Jewish tribe of Banu Quraydhah is the most criticized event in the military history of Islam under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). In this lecture we provide a summary of the event, followed by the traditional explanations provided by Islamic scholarship. This is followed by a critical analysis of the event, which leads to a new perspective in understanding this event in a more realistic manner. The role of the Umayyads (Banu Umayyah) in distorting and fabricating Islamic history is highlighted.
