Thanks for showing this new and different angle of the dramatic scuttling of the Stellar Banner. (I wish the video coveyed the actual sounds of the sinking rather than music.) Gosh, when the ship finally sank, it certainly sank fast.
@@miket2120Just watched the video you referenced. Definitely closer and a better view compared to this video. Very eerie sound ship makes as its sinking. Thanks!
How can you infer that without seeing what sank that ship? Bow thrusters are only any use when you are manoeuvring at speeds of less than about 3 knots. This looks like a collision at higher speeds than that.
@@jimlepeu577 bow thrusters are everywhere, if you find their nests you need to report it to the appropriate authorities so they can destroy and dispose of them without causing any unnecessary damage!

That is why mariners during WWII were told to swim as fast as they could away from the ship after it was torpedoed.
Bulk iron ore carrier MV Stellar Banner being scuttled after running aground.
What was the purpose of scuttling it and how did they do it without risking any crew?
@@Roddy556crew were evacuated prior to scuttling. They saw that the damage was too extensive to salvage, so they scuttled it.
@wyattjessup9108 okay that doesn't really clarify anything for me. If the crew were evacuated how did they scuttle the ship?
@@Roddy556 they most likely either dragged it out to see and shot it, or had a diver put a scuttling charge on it
@@wyattjessup9108 I would like to see one of the maritime youtube channels do a short video of exactly how it was done
It’s sad for the ship it’s served us for a long time only to get betrayed by us when it’s ran aground and sunk.

Look up Sinking ship, VLOC Stellar Banner scuttled HD on RUclips. Lots of wind noise in the audio, but you clearly hear the ship as she goes down.

The lights stayed on right up to the end just like the Titanic!
FUCKIN MUSIC....
Surprised they didn’t take it to be scrapped.
If they managed to move it to deeper water I’m sure they could have moved it to get scrapped
The starboard hull was severely damaged so it couldn't be towed to a scrapyard.
This is a terrible waste of resources.
So sad! God Bless her steel soul!
Cut the music!
You have a volume control and a mute button
Can you imagine how fast it was moving when it hit bottom?
Not sure about this one but they estimated that the Bismarck hit the sea floor at 80 knots....
There’s a different video that is from the ship behind it, and it is said the ship was breaking up underwater so it is likely shattered.
RIP!!!
Let’s ruin a good video by adding stupid music
And blurring the focus at the end.
Meg got it
This is the fault of relying on bow thrusters, because you can’t handle a vessel without them, making you not fit to be near any water!

This music ruins the video . Stop it
Another illegal ship-sinking to avoid fees.
Is that OIL spewing out?
Totally wrong color. Looks more like a powdery sort of cargo like fertiliser or something like that.
Probably rust
That's a bulk carrier, you're seeing the hatch covers blowing off each hold, and the contents being ejected by inrushing water.
My guess is that its rust she carried iron ore.
She was loaded with 350,000 tonnes of iron ore
stolen from another channel
Maybe that's why the music.
Shame about the stupid music
