The author has continued the story (means there are new plots but some characters are same) in the Heroes of Olympus and the Trials of Apollo, based on Greek and Roman mythology. He has also written The Kane Chronicles on Egyptian mythology and Magnus Chase series on Norse Mythology. You should certainly check that out! :)

Its not about remembering per se, I try to take important practical points from books which I can apply in my life, rest I discard
