      I agree, the content is great, especially when you kinda know what he is talking about, but it could be useful to have an instrument, for those who can't understand without 'seeing' what you're talking about. Maybe you can try to avoid using this board, or cut out the times you were writing on this board. This same applies for children at school, they can lose the concentration by just waiting for the teacher to be done writing, it helps a lot when you have something ready. I'm saying this because i can feel you have something useful and interesting.

    Love the videos man, they are definitely the most helpful guitar theory videos I have watched on RUclips. I was just wondering, when constructing chords can the notes be in absolutely any order?

    • @yga
      @yga  3 года назад

      They can indeed and the same note can be used multiple times over different octaves to give many different sounds to the same chord! Although it's worth noting that the name of the chord changes a little if a note other than the root is in the bass! :)

    What type of seven chord would be formed if you had a minor triad with a major seven?

    • @yga
      @yga  2 года назад +1

      That chord is called a Minor major7. It's a very cool, James Bond sounding chord and the 1st chord of the melodic minor! :D

    If you only play the 1, 3 & b7, is it still considered a dominant 7 chord?

    Why don't you use regular C, F, G instead of C#, F#, G# on that scale?

    • @party-sy2tk
      @party-sy2tk 2 года назад

      Because he is working in the A Major Scale. The A Major Scale has the notes A, B, C#, D, E, F#, G#

    I'm learning piano. Would this theory still be relevant?! I'm thinking surely. Just saw you're called guitar academy not piano!

    • @yga
      @yga  3 года назад +2

      Yes, 7th chords can be playing on almost anything (Perhaps not the drums) but definitely piano, which lends itself nicely the the visualisation of a the chord as well so you're all okay! 😀
