When I bought my Box Jades I was doing a lot of reading and also picked up some Box Navy b/c I heard people talk about "return problems" on some keys.. But I enjoy the Box Jades so much I lowkey regret buying a whole set of the Navys, since they are going un-used ^^: I've had no issues with the Jades, and I love that they are a tiny bit of a deeper sound than the Navy.
these are so good, i can't belive cherry mx is still king and popular having these switch, like wtf, people like cherry more only because they are german and nothing more and i'm relly happy with these and they are super cheap, and they are even on just a hyperx elite rgb modded keyboard.
The problem is that they are standard most popular for keyboard companies such as corsair. I really think some big companies need to build solid kits, If corsair had a DIY kit with a PCB and all that that coulkd be compatible with their lighting system and stuff I would buy it right away. I love my K70 I just want Box Jades on it.
you're just 208 desoldering and soldering movements away from it ! Don't let this get between your and your dream. This guy did it ruclips.net/video/0DJ0PVzGFog/видео.html, something you can do on a rainy weekend and have the satisfaction of modding it yourself :)
You will be more surprised when you see more of vintage switches, like Alps (and its clones), buckling springs, Space Invaders, dome with sliders, and more.
I love BOX Whites, it's way ahead of any other switch I've tried so far. That's the switch I'd recommend for someone who never used any of BOX switches, alongside with Jades, since they are very similar, except Whites are lighter. When it comes to Navies, they are so heavy I could hardly recommend them to anyone other than people who know they're very heavy-handed. If you're a light typer, your fingers will be dying.
As I searched for force curve graph the box jades have the same tactility as the box navys. These graphs( 2:04 ) are clearly wrong. But other than that this video is really good!
I'm going to be picking up some box navies relatively soon. I've only ever had pre-built mechanical keyboards before. One had cherry mx clear switches that seemed a little heavy at first, but I got used to them pretty quickly. The other had cherry mx blue switches that are way too light. I always feel like I'm going to accidently actuate a key by just resting my fingers on them. I haven't been impressed by the tactility of either of them, and the clears feel particularly scratchy. I was thinking about going with some MX Green switches, but I'm starting to piece together that I'm not much of a fan of cherry switches. I feel like green would just end up being a heavier, more scratchy blue. I need more resistance than blues and a much more pronounced tactile bump, so I think the Box Navy will be perfect. I am interested in trying out the box pinks too though.
Just bought a set of jade for my next build, hope the issues about the springs are not so dramatic as some people say, i am not used to heavy switches so i didn't really feel to go whit the navy as they look super-heavy. Do you tried gaming whit the jades? How they perform in that contest?
I was actually just playing Overwatch with my CA66 that has box jades in it earlier and they were completely fine. For 90%+ people, the best gaming switches are the ones you are most comfortable with. -Manofinterests
@@sleehwtoh1 Ok thanks so much. About to build my first mech and had set myself on box jades until this guy above told me I couldn't game with them. Thanks so much.
@@Theo-jw6hz you can game with anything you're comfortable with. I was mocking the absurdity of the idea of a switch that is "impossible to game with". Kailh boxes are perfectly good if you're comfortable with them.
Box pale blues have similar tactility to box whites. I think the pale blues are decent, but I prefer the lighter box white switches like how I prefer the lighter jade switch -Manofinterests
Very helpful review: thank you. I wondered if you know of the way to protect keycaps from the box switches? Lots of people complain about them damaging some keys. And: I don't know if anyone told you so already but the speed of your speech is something else! You see: you are speaking too fast! I know, I know: you may suggest slowing it a bit with the player's settings... I actually do! Still: your speech is unnaturally haphazardous IMO. Relax, man! Go mellow! Life is beautiful! Thanks again.
DUDE! Slow down your speech, it's so slurred together! If you want to make an informational video, make it so that the information is actually understandable!
So, it's September 2020 and I'm still in love with my BOX Navy switches. My neighbors across the street don't like them very much though.
navys feel amazing
How are your keycaps living?
@@basshead. they fixed that issue like 2 years ago i thought?
@@crashdude7589 They fixed the cracking issue but the new stem design still stretches keycaps.

It is because many people get used to mechs w cherries nothing more, i think cherries are scratchy stock tbh

@Pitto absolutely, mine is a corsair with box white and it works well

box pinks are like a linear with a subtle click, tbh they are pretty good but no where near as clicky as a navy
What key opener would work for these? And can they swap into cherry switches? Thanks.
how did you get the custom keycap on this video
Have you thought about not talking while Sound testing the switches?

1:19 my AC off
thanks for the video, just what i was looking for
Between box white and box brown which one is more tactile?
white has a sharper and more sudden yet bigger tactility than brown
Anything other than linears is more tactile than browns...
Giacomo Bettini box brown is not the same as browns
Would a chip in the wall of the box stem affect the switch?
Orange-Sleipnir only if you’re putting it in a keyboard. the switch is fine, just be careful when putting it in
weird question orange but what's the character in your profile picture?
@@paperclipmaker it's Ed from Cowboy Bebop. If you still haven't watch that anime, I'd say it's 100% worth watching.
Wonder if jades with navy for space bar would be nice?
Crispy clean CLICC!
It's a shame that the click bar clicks against plastic. They could have incorporated metal for additional clickiness.
Box Jade vs Gateron Green
I wonder if its feasible to use these for gaming.
no. you cannot feasibly game with these.
Astrojay new to all this stuff. Can I ask why?
