Huge traditional hunting model cuckoo clock. Double-door musical with 36 note music box. Plays 1 of 2 melodies after the call of cuckoo on the hour, as the musicman emerges from the left door. 8 Day German Regula movement with gong and cuckoo on the hour and half-hour. Wooden dial, hands, numerals and cuckoo bird. Deep carved, antique stain, night shut-off and 2 year warranty. Made by Rombach & Haas of the Black Forest in Germany.
This is our largest traditional hunting model, but a larger one could be made to order. Details abound with a traditional hunting scene and an intricately carved pendulum making this piece a piece of timekeeping art.
The 52 note music box from Reuge in Switzerland also makes this piece an impressive mechanical-musical instrument. It's large music box mechanism allows for longer tunes with more melismatic melodies and a richer accompaniment.
This grand piece is by Rombach und Haas and is available from Cuckoo Kingdom, Inc.

Very cool to hear the 52 note versions of Edelwiess and ‘The Happy Wanderer’.
Dumb idea cutting the music box, I think they will find that is one of the things people were paying extra money for.
We all know anyone can pick up a clock for $5 at Wal-Mart..... or just look at their cell phone for the time...so when people go this route they are looking for something special or unique.
It would be nice if one day musical clocks would play something besides these same two old songs. But then I've also been in a clock shop and heard 100 different clocks all playing the exact same 'Westminister Quarters'.
The clock industry is a strange one.... endless creativity in some ways, endless repetition in others :/

Particularly when it comes to music boxes...take Reuge for example...their tune lists in the olden days were immense, one could even find some playing e.g. selections from Bach's B minor suite...unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore...
And the ones in cuckoo clocks...I can't blame you if you're sick and tired of hearing those lackluster arrangements of "Wanderer" and "Edelweiss" in the smaller movements all the time...
This clock is one of the beautiful exceptions to the rule. The sound takes you back to the golden ages of the music box...

@@pavlostriantaris2817 Reuge's tune variety probably decreased because of the shitty monetary essential-only economical times we're all in. The monetary system is fucking garbage and it does nothing other than limit innocent creative people to what they can and can't create for literally no other reason than not corresponding to the current monetary standards...
If I owned Reuge(and I do think myself taking over Reuge would be a good idea) I'd expand the tune list back to how it used to be. I'd even add in old-time marches like those of Edward Taylor(E.T.) Paull or something like that!
Unfortunately uncreativity is going for Seiko as well with their melodies-in-motion clocks. Since the end of 2017 or something they've reused the same classical music playlists over and over again(because of copyright reasons) and they are also running out of ideas on what motion clocks to create or manufacture. Rhythm are also limited on music variety too but the variety on motion is still decently appropriate.
With regards to music boxes again... Hones at least have a good variety of proper complete-rotation-shifting-cylinder music box tunes that they use for their largest clocks over £2500.

Someone may be showing the clock on Amazon but you can't buy it there. It is only available thru Cuckoo Kingdom and is currently in stock.
Yes it would be nice if the put the larger music box in more cuckoos.

It is such a beautiful piece, I would not say it is better than Beha's 548 musical cuckoo...

They don't make the 52 note music box anymore. This is a huge clock and glad it sold. I retired a few years ago.

And i really like huge clocks like this. It's rare, I might have to get one from, well you know...SANTA!
Trouble is...i want a hooting owl clock, and it cost £1685...
I will look everywhere in the black forest region of Germany for these clocks and probably some other ones that have the same music box, which I will take out and put it in my owl clock once I get it.

Really annoying how they decided to cut corners by using a 36 note music box without reducing the price... I know of a cuckoo clock that has a 72 note music box but it is very expensive.

  • @Cuckookingdom
    @Cuckookingdom  12 лет назад

This is the last of it's kind. The new ones have cut down to a 36 note music box and they did not change the pricing any so this one is a real catch. It his in the higher range but then again, there is no such thing as a cheap cuckoo clock. The real ones that is.....

I know this. How many did you have in stock? (i know you retired)
It's getting rare these days and I cannot afford more than £400. I am getting some of my old cuckoo clocks back, one of them being the SC 92/9 (schneider) and the 600/2ENU musical cuckoo (hoenes). And some seiko musical wall clocks. You still have them? even if you retired? How rare is it now?
