Hi . I bought a vauxhall Astra 1.2 turbo GS model ,23 PLATE. I had it for 9 months, then one Thursday night, I went to start it. But no power ,flat battery. RAC looked at it, charged it up, only to find it was flat the next morning. The car is with our Vauxhall Dealer, and has been for the last 10 weeks. I've been told ,they have got to take out all the Electrical Wires. And start again, so having made the decision to have a NEW 24 Plate car, because they cannot get the Electrical loom . Other wise the car is lovely. Regards Mr.P.CARVER.

Really appreciate this review, it's probably the best and most thorough one i've found regarding the Astra K facelift on all of RUclips! And it was a bit hard to find, which is odd. Anyway, comes in handy now, as i'm looking at a used Astra K from 2019 or newer.
As for why they didn't use readily available PSA engines: I heard it's because of licensing issues that they couldn't plop in PSA engines and went with the new GM ones. There were a couple of such odd decisions, the launch of the Corsa F was delayed for a year or so because they didn't want to use any GM parts in it anymore, despite the GM design already having been in a late stage of development. So they had to redesign it for PSA parts.
About the fuse box, yeah, some fuses are behind that awkward "phone-sized cubbie" below the A/C controls, which is really just the fuse box cover, let's be honest. Seems like a weird afterthought of a design, that thing. The AGR-approved seats are very good indeed, been sitting in one in an Insignia. And i hear good things about the IntelliLux Matrix LEDs. A fully loaded Astra K Facelift might compare favourably vs. a lower-spec'd VW Golf for the same money.

I test drove a 2019 1.4 petrol one today. I decided beforehand to at least sleep on it for 1 night but I think I'm sold already. Amazing price-quality, low cost maintenance, efficient engine, plenty torque. Thanks for the reviews, you guys are criminally under-watched (at least since the banner was reduced in size, haha!).

Got late 19 last week , well balanced and very smooth . 1.4 turbo 150 , over 50 to gallon on sensible run . Boring but great run around 👍

Exactly that! Enough torque and handling to have some fun, but not enough to get into trouble. Perfect compromise for me

I own a 66 plate Astra K and it’s brilliant. We have a 17 plate Golf on the drive too and the Astra has beer the far better car.
