It's extremely hard to remarry after your spouse passes. Lost mine 20 years ago and a part of my heart died with him. Although he saved our son and I know he'd want me to move on but ive never felt the same about another person.
I met a lady years ago while traveling to SC on Amtrak. She started telling me about her late husband. The most beautiful and sad part was when she was telling me about missing seeing his boots dirty in the hallway. Her face wasn't sad, but it wasn't happy. She was in the past and I said right then that when I get married that thats it. My parents were the same way. Separated after 16 yrs but never filed papers so when my dad died they had been legally married for 51 years. Never remarried. I had never thought with the history between the two how hard my mom mourned his passing until I called her a week after his funeral and she could barely talk because she had been crying for a week.
I just lost my husband Tuesday the 7th, found him on floor dead by our bed. 17 years together. I'm so heartbroken I don't want to be with anyone ever again. Friday is my husband's funeral 😢😢
Mine is only deported and I can't imagine trying to start over just because he's not here. He MADE our family. However, I have a friend from school who moved on after just 2 years. I don't judge but that felt so awkward and irresponsible toward her sons for me. 😢
Me listening to the 5th story thinking a couple miraculously survived the brutal storm because the husband was referred to as “my father”: :D The ending: D:
#2 bearhuntersavior. It was You that woke everyone up and saved their lives...don't let your Dad say you just sat there while your brother dropped the hammock onto the bear and made it possible for him to do whatever. U did your part already for the group. Let's hope he don't need your help again and you don't go hunting.....
The story with the two 22 yr old women... how was it that her friend, julie, was inconspicuously NOT home. A little sus since julie broke the rules and boundaries... i mean, julie could've orchestrated the entire "TAKEN" scenario and pretended to play the part of a good friend. Just a possibility...
I feel like he probably killed himself. But in a world where he didn’t.I hope he got therapy. Found love and became a counselor for kids who are victims of abuse. And that he has lots of money and love and care.
Gotta skip the first story. In the past 2 weeks, both my dogs passed away. They were both 16 years old and came into this world together and it seems like they wanted to leave together. It's difficult to hear about dogs without crying, it's too fresh. My heartis crushed.😢
The tree falling on man story, was the most real & heart breaking story, I've ever heard on any platform. Growing up & then living in the middle of nowhere types of places , on farms & ranches, I related. I have had to administer stitches to my own self at times. Roads became impassable during winter storms, in the place of my childhood. So that story really hit home in it's degree of helplessness, despair & the potential of nature's fury.
Hey, I’m wondering where you’ve heard these before. I’m like 90% sure I’ve listened to all of Joel’s stuff now on RUclips to the point where I’m trying to find other story tellers and nothing does it for me like let’s read! Am I missing something??
The best feeling is when you fall asleep during an episode, come back the next day and skip to a random spot and it's a perfectly silent gap between two stories 😊
I work as a home remodeler a 2 minute walk from cementland, it's absolute trash ghetto area, I check to make sure my car hasn't been stolen again every 15 minutes. It's at the intersection of Riverview drive and Scranton drive in Riverview north county St Louis its very cool looking from the outside but sadly it's all overgrown and been mostly reclaimed my nature. I'll try to get some pics and put them in a live sometime soon. The side that borders Scranton people come dump trash like sofas and couches. I listen to let's read every single day, so I find it super cool when the stories are so local.
Same. I work in auto body repair five minutes away and we're going to move shop soon thanks to the crack heads cutting the fence for the occasional vehicle with accessible cats. I'm not sure about going to get pictures though. Got stuck waiting for semis before i could turn onto the highway the other day and someone knocked on my window. Scared me so bad i floored it instead of finding out what they were asking for. 😅 I have just enough sense to know I shouldn't linger in this area.
Just in time for bed here in South Wales 🏴 thank you Joel, you make my nights so much better, you voice is in my dreams each night and I love it 💙
man i couldn’t imagine how angry i’d be if julie was my roommate in story 3. hope that other person that moved in with her knows how irresponsible she is and how easily she’ll disregard your boundaries.
Not cynical at all. It's the truth. Plus, tho this channel rarely uploads compilations I feel like we've heard the first few several, several times. I don't really listen to other channels like this one. Maybe one, two at most. I don't mind listening to the same story twice but it does come to a point where it's a waste of time.
@@josiegipson90 I hadn't heard any of the stories in this video, although I'm not saying you haven't. I've also noticed that he puts repeat stories in these compilations a lot, I just haven't heard these particular stories before. I wish he'd mark which ones are repeats, or if they're all repeats include the original video they're on somewhere so people can more easily determine whether or not they've heard it.
1:12:06 I remember this story. It’s one of those that I never forgot after hearing it and I thought about Noah and the others in the story. Sad. Very sad.
These chilling starry stories have me looking up at the night sky with a newfound sense of dread. The universe is beautiful, but it's also a haunting abyss. 🔮😱
Came here to say How Much The Bear Hunting Story pissed me off… and was happy to see so many others were too. The OP was the one that woke up and saved them, also the dad was, tbh, an ASS for treating OP like he just sat there while the bro was the hero!?! The silver lining was the ending, that OP doesn’t have to go with his dad hunting anymore.
I also live 20 minutes from where the kid who died on the orlando freefall was from, he was a beast of a high school football player for East St louis high. Crazy they put that story right after cementland. Just need the story where the lady in Collinsville killed her husband and cut off his dingo, and got off on a technicality 😂 would Love see someone post about the seven gates of hell or i should. I live an area full of very spooky creepy and scary stories.
Go on then write some stories because you have some interesting ideas like 7 gates of hell or something spooky lol. Anyway I will be looking for your name.😊
Joel, you did so amazing. I'm not finished with the video and I already had to pause it because you creeped me out during one of the stories. You know I love the voices. You're doing great!
The amusement park story hit me hard. I was thinking about it from the perspective of the person who strapped the ɓoy into the ride having to live with the kid's death for the rest of their life. The employees of these rides have so much pressure on them to get people buckled in fast and keep the ride moving, pressure from the riders to hurry up and let them ride and very little pay for the responsibility to ensure everyone is safe.
Gotta go to sleep early, have to be up extremely early tomorrow morning…. Finding 3 hrs !! OMG… why tonight? I have no will power… I’m gonna be tired in the AM… it’s 7 PM here in Mississippi.👆🏻😕🤣
“Our air bnb host keeps texting us immediately after doing things, and it seems like they are watching us…..so let’s just stay and start fucking” like, really? Also in the first story, the guy started by saying he was older than his brother and graduated, moved out, and had a kid already by the time his brother graduated, but by the end of the story the narrator was like 7 years old when the story happened. Did the person even try l when they wrote that story?
Visiting Australia here. Was about 9pm when I started, sleeping in a camper with a whole tribe of kangaroos within a stone's throw, up in the hills of Perth where it's soooo quiet. I love the wild intro 'music' and epic sounds of these month-end compilations! Gotta relisten, still
I've had many dogs in my life, all very different breeds. I have 3 now. Every one of them would detect a quiet small animal at 200 feet, and a stranger much further away. It would take a ninja with supernatural abilities to avoid detection, or to not get shredded by my american bulldog. They can smell a person outdoors 50 yards down the street while in the house. It's annoying most of the time but could save us one day.
Damn that story about the kids that hung out at Dogpatch USA and what happened to Noel is just sad and dark! Makes me wonder what happened to him? Was it reported? Was there a search for him? Kid was damaged forever by his grandma!
I tried to find stuff on that and had no luck. I’ve driven by that place twice this year and did not know what it was, and of course i find out in a Let’s Read video😂
@@93tilinfinity4life they seem to have been working on it to turn it into a state park but next time I go to Branson I’ll have to look and see if it’s still there
Man Joel i know you hear this CONSTANTLY but i have not been diagnosed with insomnia from an actual DR. But the way i figure it i have to have it due to my seriously F’D up sleep routine. 1st of all i don’t do any sort of uppers or speed(i get that a lot when i try to talk to people about being awake 3-4 days). ANYWAYS, once i found your content i have completely got my sleep routine almost “normal” i do fall asleep most every night now still cant sleep thru the night but i feel a huge difference all together, i greatly appreciate all your content!!! 👍🏻 Thanx again boss
1:10:00 i remembered the Noah story and going through it again it took a little bit to realize but then i just kept shaking my head "no, no, no" like i wish I could tell op the ending to change it to stop it. To be honest I don't really blame Noah.
I remember hearing about the 14 year old, so so sad what happened. One of our publics upstanding individuals uploaded a video of that tragic event too.
I regret seeing that video. Visited that park with my family a year or something before the incident. Makes me sick to think that a visit to a park meant for a fun time can end in tragedy. I absolutely hate rides and rollercoasters, and hate it when loved ones rides them.
That Rollercoaster story made me tear up oh my God. My stomach dropped and my limbs felt weak. I can't imagine how it must have been seeing that in person.
That’s not right. You were brave enough to wake your dad to alert to the bear and your brother only threw his hammock out of a technicality of it coming apart.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much!
Thank you it’s so hard to know where I left off with these longer videos with no timeline haha
I'm so sorry.
@@morganstarchild5359💔💜 I'm so sorry
Poor Noah! 😢There are so many rotten caretakers out there... instead of caregivers.
Bro whaat?? Hahah this is like something Michael Scott would say
What did we deserve for an over 3hr video?! AND during spooky session. Thank you, my favorite narrator, Joel 👻
Joel
Has to have the best voice on the horror storytelling circuit. So soothing and instantly seems to relax.
Yes he is, but I need a FACE REVEAL!!!!. It’s driving me crazy picturing the face to that awesome voice!. 😂
Me listening to the 5th story thinking a couple miraculously survived the brutal storm because the husband was referred to as “my father”: :D
The ending: D:
#2 bearhuntersavior. It was You that woke everyone up and saved their lives...don't let your Dad say you just sat there while your brother dropped the hammock onto the bear and made it possible for him to do whatever. U did your part already for the group.
Let's hope he don't need your help again and you don't go hunting.....
made me mad at his dad! how dare he! they all made that plan together,he wasn't just a damn bystander. 🙄
I always thought the narrator in that story was a girl... lol
Yep.
She probably hated living out there tbh
Right...and for Julie to continue living there even after the fact. You really can't trust people these days, even certain friends and family
You say it like any of these stories are true 😅😅😅
Woman...not women
Noah’s story always gets to me. I hope he’s doing better nowadays.
I feel like he probably killed himself. But in a world where he didn’t.I hope he got therapy. Found love and became a counselor for kids who are victims of abuse. And that he has lots of money and love and care.
Me too. Whatever happened to him, I hope he's not hurting anymore.
Nothing’s better than a three hour let’s read video
Edit, I lied, I need more let’s read videos
Joel, thank you for taking such good care of our sleeping needs!!
I hate the stories where animals get injured.. especially doggies 😞
me too I usually skip those. I was even sad about the mountain lion who was going to attack the kid 😅
Nope! Me either
Ruins my day
I know I’ve listened to Let’s Read so much that these are all repeats for me haha.
Yep, disappointing
haha same, you know you've spent a lot of time here when you can remember the story after just the first few words.
I don't mind the compilation, Joel does so much for us already. plus, it's for the podcast not just RUclips
Agreed, plus if the story is older some folks may not be going into the years of back catalog, these updated comps are their opportunity to hear them.
Hey, I’m wondering where you’ve heard these before. I’m like 90% sure I’ve listened to all of Joel’s stuff now on RUclips to the point where I’m trying to find other story tellers and nothing does it for me like let’s read!
Am I missing something??
Your videos get me through my night shift. So thank you Joel!
23 STORIES WHAT HAVE WE DONE TO DESERVE THIS
Apparently not much. They're just old stories from previous videos compiled into one longer video.
The best feeling is when you fall asleep during an episode, come back the next day and skip to a random spot and it's a perfectly silent gap between two stories 😊
Wow I actually know what you mean
😅 I have just enough sense to know I shouldn't linger in this area.
being reclaimed by nature isn't sad
Just in time for bed here in South Wales 🏴 thank you Joel, you make my nights so much better, you voice is in my dreams each night and I love it 💙
South Wales here too Great stories
man i couldn’t imagine how angry i’d be if julie was my roommate in story 3. hope that other person that moved in with her knows how irresponsible she is and how easily she’ll disregard your boundaries.
For real, the least she could've done was apologize and let her off the mortgage without issue.
That Noah story got me. Out of all the stories that one was somehow the most visceral.
Maybe I'm just cynical but a lot of these stories sound like creative writing exercises. Either way, entertaining and great narration as always!
Same here. The first three or four have sounded entirely made up to me
Not cynical at all. It's the truth. Plus, tho this channel rarely uploads compilations I feel like we've heard the first few several, several times. I don't really listen to other channels like this one. Maybe one, two at most. I don't mind listening to the same story twice but it does come to a point where it's a waste of time.
@@StingRayo98I'm glad. I was in tears over Rebel!
@@tbonejabrobe yeah the first few were the most "glorified creepypasta" sounding to me. They sounded more believable as the video went on.
1:12:06 I remember this story. It’s one of those that I never forgot after hearing it and I thought about Noah and the others in the story. Sad. Very sad.
Joel is an awesome narrator and he rocks.
My favorite ☺️🌹
I feel so bad for the kid who’s grandma was using him omg :(
These chilling starry stories have me looking up at the night sky with a newfound sense of dread. The universe is beautiful, but it's also a haunting abyss. 🔮😱
6am here in Scotland, listening to this after nightshift offshore 👍
Faust. Duh
The insomniacs of the UK thank you for your service! 🇬🇧😎
Joel, you did so amazing. I'm not finished with the video and I already had to pause it because you creeped me out during one of the stories. You know I love the voices. You're doing great!
Just in time for bed! 💤
I've been binge listening to these for some time now... this episode is, by far, my favorite.
Getting ready for bed in northern Oregon, I love your voice it's the best 🥰
Can't sleep so awesome timing ❤
Always listen to you while working nightshifts. I look forward to it.
3 hours!!! my heart just melted! 💜
Some great stories in this compilation, the newlyweds in the storm tore my heart
Just in time for bed 🤩🤩
Brace yourself, because these stories sent chills down my spine! 😱💀
Thank you Joel, love your stories. My fav youtube channel for the last 7 years and counting!
I enjoy nothing more than listening to over 5hrs of “ Lets Read “ scary stories during my night shift at work. Keep up the good work.
Gotta go to sleep early, have to be up extremely early tomorrow morning…. Finding 3 hrs !! OMG… why tonight? I have no will power… I’m gonna be tired in the AM… it’s 7 PM here in Mississippi.👆🏻😕🤣
Lol, I agree 😅😅
Thank you Joel.
Brilliant Joel has made us a extra long video thank you 😊 ❤❤
jimmy 😭 I love the first story
Thank you for this spoooooooky treat Joel!! You are the best!
Visiting Australia here. Was about 9pm when I started, sleeping in a camper with a whole tribe of kangaroos within a stone's throw, up in the hills of Perth where it's soooo quiet. I love the wild intro 'music' and epic sounds of these month-end compilations! Gotta relisten, still
Nice! I grew up in Kalamunda. So bloody quiet haha
The storytelling is top-notch. It's a lot of love into your work.
Keep it up👍
I've had many dogs in my life, all very different breeds.
Yay! New video ❤
Awesome!
12:30 a.m. and im ready to go! Thanks for all The hard work my friend! 👍🏻👍🏻✌🏼
@@rcxd01 dang you see the water ride where they hung out
@@93tilinfinity4life they seem to have been working on it to turn it into a state park but next time I go to Branson I’ll have to look and see if it’s still there
This was posted at a perfect time, it's currently 1am in Botswana.
Botswana, how did you get out there😊
LOVE these long compilations! 🤟
R.I.P Bob my family I spend a lot of our summer at the city museum. I have so many childhood memories there.
Let's go I just finished watching the entire thing best video I've seen all day
I love the background music.. the best on RUclips imo..it compliments your narration perfectly . So relaxing..
Love your story’s mate and the fact you don’t actually sound like ai 👌
Spooky season w spooky stories>>
Wow Noah story is super sad :/ R.I.P. Noah
Sory 2 : Raised with wilderness knowledge.. *Brings granola bar into sleeping hammock bear hunting*
He never said if he found it when the bear went
This is perfect for bedtime❤
Thank you so much for a lengthy one!!!!
I believe the compilations are the best!!!
Oh dear miss you are ever so naughty
Couldn't have uploaded this at a better time. Thanks so much! Would be lost without Let's Read!
Just in time for Halloween! 🎃🎃
Yay! A long video to fall asleep to before my birthday tomorrow!
👋😃 Happy Birthday! 🎉🎉
Happy Birthday!! 🎂🎉🥳
Happy birthday!🎉🍰🎂
These stories are fantastic! Thank-you Joel. 🥰🎃
I really love your narrations, and your story choice. Thanks!!
I'm starting to feel like going off grid is not a great idea
1:10:00 i remembered the Noah story and going through it again it took a little bit to realize but then i just kept shaking my head "no, no, no" like i wish I could tell op the ending to change it to stop it.
To be honest I don't really blame Noah.
no nor do I
I remember hearing about the 14 year old, so so sad what happened. One of our publics upstanding individuals uploaded a video of that tragic event too.
it’s probably still on twitter tbh
I regret seeing that video. Visited that park with my family a year or something before the incident. Makes me sick to think that a visit to a park meant for a fun time can end in tragedy. I absolutely hate rides and rollercoasters, and hate it when loved ones rides them.
Three hours of Let's Read!!! Hello bedtime.
That Rollercoaster story made me tear up oh my God. My stomach dropped and my limbs felt weak. I can't imagine how it must have been seeing that in person.
Love these stories, whenever i want to relax i always listen to my #1 favourite podcasts!!!keep up great work
Best. voice. ever. Smooth like butter.
I bawled during the storm story. I can't imagine the strength.😢
So Jimmy moves out of the woods only after his stalker dies from hypothermia and not the months he was being terrorized 💀🤣
Poor Noah. What a thing for a grandmother to do to her grandson. Just awful.
Amazing, thank you Joel!
That’s not right. You were brave enough to wake your dad to alert to the bear and your brother only threw his hammock out of a technicality of it coming apart.
These stories are so good that they've kept me awake
