@5pieces , Parallel Compression add a little bit of Volume, Is it Good idea to Group them and Gain Stage . Pls am always confused over here, Waiting for ur reply, ur highness .
I'm not 100% sure I follow what you're saying by group them and gain stage as it could mean a number of things depending on the order, etc but here's how I approach it: I typically send individual tracks (ie, Kick, Snare, HiHat) to a bus that already has processing on it, being extreme compression (8:1+ ratio, fast attack, slow release). I then blend each send to taste to achieve a good cohesive blend of all tracks. Sometimes certain sounds cut through more than others like hihats which can sound harsh, so I use the send level to compensate and essentially get a good balance between everything I'm sending. After that, I will typically re-balance the actual channel volume of the parallel compression, often reducing the volume and having it not be as loud as the dry track. The goal (for me) is to fatten the dry track up, not necessarily over-take it. So in summary: 1) Send individual tracks to a parallel bus with processing 2) Blend each individual send level to achieve a good balance between all tracks being sent 3) Re-balance the parallel channel volume so it blends well with the original, dry track(s) This older video I did on parallel compression should help put this all together: ruclips.net/video/b-ZHgcCE4Q4/видео.html Hope this helps.
Believe it or not, I'm still running a 2012 MacBook Pro that I've upgraded multiple times over the years. Currently have two 1TB SSDs and 16GB of RAM inside. You can learn more about my set-up in my studio walkthrough video here: ruclips.net/video/vjg0MQc2org/видео.html
