This is pretty exciting! I hope when they allow the ability to add records to grid view, it also applies the filters to the added records through that grid view. This is something that's already present with Notion filtered grids. Also lock and unlock adding records would be nice.
Hi Gareth ! Thanks for this very interesting vidéo. You have a new presentation on the database interface (data / automations / Interfaces tabs). Is it available soon?
Hi Gareth! Very promising. Have one question: on the very left you have "Project 1", "Project 2" & "Project 3". Is it possible to add a new Project (adding a record that I would call "Project 4") that would take the same interface template that you show? "Project 4" would be empty and then I could use add record to add contacts to it, even create new contacts to be added. Hope what I say is all clear
Yes, that's totally possible. Just make sure that you're including two different elements here, the element that adds projects, and the element that adds tasks TO a project. 💪
Hi, I've recently started watching your videos and much appreciate them. For this item, I am using the Field element for the linked records because I need to be able to add a new one from within the interface. My question is "how can I change the layout of the field card?" I want to expand the amount of area dedicated to one of the individual fields displayed. I would also like to sort by date (most recent first) of the linked record rather than the order they happen to appear in the base record. Any help is appreciated.
We don't have the capability of adjusting the UX of a card, unfortunately. However, to sort by linked records you can check out an Airtable extension that will help order linked records. Hope this helps!
hi , i cannot see the 'Field' element you mentioned in this video. There is no element called 'Field' can you let me know if my understanding is correct
Interfaces got an upgrade since we recorded this video! I'd suggest looking at adding a form in interfaces now to create new records. We've done some videos on this! 💪
This is really exciting! I do have a question perhaps not pertaining to this -- however I am attempting to develop an automation where when certain conditions are met (in this example, we want to send a monthly email listing the 'clients' whose birthdays are coming up in the following month), so ie: when the birth month is listed as January, we want an automated email to send with a list of those folks on the 25th of each month (so this one would send December 25th). I'm running into some issues with this automation where I'm not able to include the list of clients in the email as it won't let me insert. Any guidance?
I'd suggest sending the email individually, not as a group email. This way, the automation will trigger for each person in your database on their specific month. You can do this with a formula field that looks at the birthday, analyzes the month, and determines if it's the current month. If so, the formula can output some specific text, like "TRIGGER" - then build your automation to watch these records for this "TRIGGER" and when the value changes to TRIGGER then automate the email
Hi Gareth, do you think in the future it will be possible to restrict paid users to interface only? (ie not giving full access to the underlying base). Thanks !

New updates are launching constantly, so I'm confident we'll see some if not all of these features in time 🙌
I am able to add new records in the grid view but it seems to depend on the table configuration because I do have some grid views with the lock.
Whoa, that's awesome - hopefully we all get that functionality soon! 🤞

I don't have exact dates, but I hear that new features will be available very soon. 🤞

Why is It better than a go to page Button who redirect through a form?
Sorry I'm not sure I understand what you're describing here

I'm hopeful that this feature is made possible. Rest assured that if/when that's available, we'll definitely cover it!
@@GarethPronovost we will hope together :) Thanks for your good work!
