Best way to really appreciate 'the belly of the best', is to listen it with its album intro 'Intro to reality' Frank Bello (Bass) and Charlie Benante (Drums) are amazing. And very well respected musicians. But there's one more essential character to the rhythm section and that is Scott Ian. His riffs are so freaking tight.
PLEASE do more Anthrax reactions!! I would recommend doing the Joey era first, then jumping into the John Bush era. I HIGHLY recommend "Be All, End All" or "Who Cares Wins" (which is a fantastic and vastly underrated video) both songs from their fantastic album 'State of Euphoria'.
And this is why for me with the Joey era Persistence of Time is my favorite album. My favorite over all is Sound of White Noise but this album is a very close second.
One of my favorite Anthrax songs. I think it really highlights the best of the band. I just saw them in concert two weeks ago. It was the third time since 2017. This time was their 40th anniversary tour, a couple of years late. The first two were on the tour for their last album For All Kings. I don't see anyone reacting to this album or Worship Music. These are their last two albums when the band reunited with singer Joey Belladonna. Some great songs from these albums are The Devil You Know, In The End, Evil Twin and Blood Eagle Wings.
(Rich M here) Way back in 1988 I saw Anthrax and Iron Maiden. Maiden was touring for Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Anthrax was touring for Persistence of Time. Anthrax went on first and no one in the crowd that night thought they were an opening act or anything. It was more of a double feature.
88/Seventh Son Maiden was them at their peak. I'm imagining "Maiden England" Iron Maiden meets Anthrax "Live Noize" quality and my jealousy is palpable.
@@Violator41 Either way that's still awesome. I didn't get to see Maiden until 2012 and Anthrax until around 2015. They were both still awesome but a little past their prime by then.
I agree,my favorite album from these guys. Got the remastered version... epic plus the bonuses and the the DVD that are all included. Definitely worth the $20. If you love this album it's a must have.
Love this powerful song.. it says so much about oppression. Most of the lyrics were lines taken from the twilight zone episode " deaths head revisited" this episode was about the concentration camps , and the retribution in the aftermath. Well done in the show and this song. Please watch the show so you fully understand. Why it and this song are so meaningful
You are too young to appreciate the lyrics and where the video was shot, but this was a VERY anti socialist (communist) song. It's very sad that it's more relevant than ever.
Intro To Reality is a must before this song
I can't separate the two. It's like foreplay and sex. Gotta do it right.

100%
That whole record was epic, there best one for me
The Drummer (Charlie) is the Bassist's (Frank) uncle. Surprised they are that good?
Great reaction! Need more Anthrax!!!!!

Actually I was wrong about the year and the tour. It was 1991 and Maiden was touring for No Prayer for the Dying. My bad.

Joey Belladonna can sing his ass off. Charlie Benante and Frank Bello on Drums and Bass.. BRUTAL
Frankie Bello (the bassist) is the nephew of Charlie Benante (the drummer)! They are by far my favorite metal rhythm section.

This song was about nazi germany. I played it for my history teacher and it actually impressed him that a metal band would tackle such a topic.
Rihgt! The speaking part at the beginning of Intro To Reality is from the Twilight Zone episode about a concentration camp

The singer is Native so that gives a perspective too with the lyrics
Not the lyrics to this track though....
as others recommended: "Be All, End All" and "Anti-Social" off of 'State of Euphoria'. You'll dig them.
