Mario Kart 64 Amped Up v2.96A - Balloon Race 150cc (Simple64)

Another awesome feature of this mod is Balloon Race. The goal is to pop or steal other people's balloons until you finish. Unlike the traditional battle mode, this mode feels more like a survival than a battle. Playing this at 150cc was not easy, but I managed to get gold in all cups as well as a special reward!

I feel the opposite way. THEY REMOVED BATTLE MODE IN FAVOR OF IT EVEN THOUGH IT ALREADY EXISTED IN THE VANILLA GAME. The reason I hate it is because trying to win 1st place while keeping your balloons is miserable because of the rubberbanding and the fact that the cpus can use shells makes the experience worse plus you HAVE TO GET THE GOLD BALLOON THROPY FOR EACH RACE TO UNLOCK GP BALLOONS WHICH DOESNT GET SAVED ON OLDER VERSIONS OF THE GAME FOR SOME REASON SO YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT AGAIN plus since it’s Grand Prix you’re forced to keep your balloons in the actual race courses which is basically like Mario kart 8’s original battle mode plus the spin out mechanic makes things worse
