  • This video captures my first kayak fishing action on a new 2019 Hobie Compass. It’s a typical day in the Ormond Beach marsh.
    Ormond Beach, Florida is a beautiful city located about 20 minutes north of Daytona Beach, Florida. It holds one of the top marsh fisheries in the United States. We think of it as a kayak fishing Mecca!

    Really enjoying your channel. Especially in the dead of winter with my knee jacked up. If you ever find yourself in NY (Long Island) with your kayak I'd be honored to take you fishing and you're not paying for a thing. We have everything from blue ribbon trout streams to Montauk, to salt water marshes to 10 pound LMB in our lakes and rivers.

      Hi Brint. Welcome to the channel, thanks for watching and for subscribing! I haven't fresh water fished in quite some time, but I know there's lot's of great spots. You may just have a bit of a drive to them. I'd suggest starting with the KBF site (www.kayakbassfishing.com/ ) and finding out where there tournaments are in and around this area. Some of those guys hang out on this channel too so perhaps they'll reply. That said, if you want to do some saltwater marsh fishing while you're here, you'll be hooked! • @KayakFishingAddict
      @KayakFishingAddict  3 года назад

      I know exactly what you mean...I try to avoid them! If you stay in the saltier water, and the closer you stay to the intracoastal waterway, then you won't likely see them ever. That's what I tend to do. As the water gets closer to freshwater then you need to be careful.

      Best gator safety tips you"ll need.
      Don't swim in water you havent checked out.
      Youre more likely to get eaten on land than the water. The land is where the egg mounds are. DO NOT TOUCH
      Dont toss bait or cleaned fish parts to gators. Makes em wanna see what else is in your boat.
      For the most part, gators are skittish.
      That said, listen for the deep grunting of mating season.
      Dont jog near bodies of water youre unfamiliar with...smiles.

With live bait you can pretty much catch anything - redfish, flounder, snook if there's any left after the cold spell, sheepshead, black drum, etc. You'll catch many of those same fish, but perhaps not sheepshead or black drum on artificial.

      Hi Timothy. Thanks for watching and for the question. There are many reasons I like the Compass. First, it's a pedal kayak. My first kayak was a paddle only kayak. Being able to move and fish at the same time is life changing! Other reasons, I can move it fully loaded and keep it to a minimum to be efficient. I have a video on that and some more benefits here ( ruclips.net/video/42A8-aEJY7w/видео.html ). If you get one, get a 2020 version or later so that you get the kick up fins!
