I remember a few years ago when work got super busy and I took a couple of years off from golf. When I started back, my confidence was high but the ball just didn’t do what it used to do. That was very eye opening and taught me a bunch of lessons about life and golf. One, don’t take things for granted; two, if you find something you love, stick with it; and three work is never that important that you need to give up the things you love.
Thanks for covering AK this week. It's truly ain intriguing human story. I think he'll have to use Hong Kong as another warm up round before Miami where the media coverage and fans will be tenfold. Best of luck to AK for the rest of the season.
AK is basically getting sponsors exemptions this year from LIV, how is this hurting anyone. The PGA Tour was going to do the same for their non-elevated events. AK was 1 over on the last 14 holes Sat and even on the last 13 holes Sun. He shot 76, 76 and 74 for +16 which is a great start. All the clowns on the Golf Channel hate LIV. At least AK can finish his rounds, unlike Tiger.
This is exactly what I was going to say. Once he got into his rounds he played well. I can see him doing well enough by the end of the year to be picked up by a team. Having a 'sponsors exemption' is great for him, great for LIV and IMHO great for viewers.
thanks for the AK watch recaps. looks like he's been battling the left ball a bit in his return. his go to shot when he played before was always the fade. have to think since this is his first event back, he also may not have his equipment quite dialed in, entire bag is new, with the exception of the button back newport2
Maybe cause he's pushing 40 and gave up golf for 12 years? I hope he does well but I'm not seeing a ton that we will expect a super amount better... hopefully I eat my words... but ya ha
Great AK coverage on this channel. He made progress under tough conditions...10 pars, 2 birdies....I'll focus on that. But the dude needs a belt...should be a quick fix.
Hope AK gets his eye back in. I don’t remember him from way back when. Life was busy then. I watched reruns of him when I heard about him. Great player. Great videos to mate…
If AK records a top 20 this year, that would be amazing, a top 10 would be unbelievable. A long way yo go, but good signs. Joaquin Niemann though, that man is on fire! Definitely has a chance in The Masters
Please keep covering AK's progress. Totally rooting for him and I think he'll be doing much better end of the year. Have a feeling last few Liv events he won't be finishing last but him finishing mid field would be a stretch also.
Watching the real struggles of a professional golfer is more entertaining than only watching the highlights which are shown on the PGATOUR... The only thing that does is falsely portray how good the players actually are. AK is VERY close to playing good golf again. Anyone with a handicap better than +5 can see that.
based on his caddy, I doubt he has a swing coach....probably needs both. I don't get the hate either, this guy was the pinnacle in his time. I remember as a high schooler trying to mirror his game. Its been 12 years with not much golf in between. In time I'm sure his game will get better.
That’s what I’m thinking. Prolly needs a bunch of coaches to tune up his game which cost money tho. I’m sure he spent almost everyday training back when he was in his prime. It would be interesting if he had a press conference and they could ask all these questions we’ve been wondering about.
I think one of the biggest things people are forgetting is how much golf itself has changed since AK was last playing competitively. Courses have gotten longer, club technology is miles ahead of where it was, I mean for godsake the man didn’t even know what a Trackman was. AK just needs time
They got the one reserve and three wildcards on the roster. Kim, Hudson Swafford, Laurie Canter wilcards, and then Wade Ormsby. Wouldnt be a great team, but would give them all a little extra to fight for
Next weeks going to be hard i think ! Much more media lots of fans and and in miami a monster of a course ! Hopefully he can break par in hong kong this week! Its a tight course but not long ! Interesting weeks coming up!
if anyone deserves an AK interview it’s you. i hope his publicist sees this and hits you up. thank you for being the voice in the darkness for him. everyone else just wants to tear him down.
It's fun to watch him play again and I'm grateful towrds LIV and AK for the effort. That said it's just a bit frustrating to watch someone be given a chance when the ability just really isn't quite there. There are sooooo many hard working talented players out there who would score way lower and be competitive but that's not the product LIV is offering so I get it. So just weird conflicting feelings here is all I'm sayin.
I’m just giving my personal opinion, I have watched more at this particular tournament in Jeddah just because of AK, and MSG is right this is what people want to see and the RUclips golf following is proof people want something different. Not trying to be a hater but the PGA events now I don’t even recognize most of the names on the leader board anymore they are all on LIV
Obviously he has a decade of rust to knock of so not bad all things considered. I could be over analyzing here but the casual shorts, sneakers, and untucked shirt seems like it psychologically makes you not take it as seriously, and that may translate in the golf game.
I didn't watch, but how far was he hitting drives? Curious if he still has speed after over a decade off. Super excited to see him improve as he gets back more reps
Not bad for him from not playing for 12 years and then already saw improvements in 3 rounds. The guy is finally hungry again. Some crowds in Hong Kong will do wonders to his game, old AK may come out.
Like the comment below, I never thought I'd be following up after someone who finished last in the tournament. AK always loved the game and probably missed the tour more than he'd like to admit to himself. You can tell he was in dark place for many years. I'm sure deep down he probably regretted leaving the tour time to time. With that said, I think he's gonna do better than he knows going forward. Great coverage.
The thing no one seems to know and the people who do know aren't saying, is that the only way AK is playing pro golf is if LIV paid off the equivalent of his insurance contract amount so he could play again and not be violating the career-ending injury clause in his contract. That's what is happening here. Norman is giving him something to do again instead of AK just sitting around at home doing blow and playing video games.
There were a bunch of places where he would get free relief and he never used it. I also don't think he used the full distance allowed when he did use it. He may not be familiar with all the rule changes.
Great review of the round. AK showed today that there is a player in there. It looks like the last 12 years have been rough. But I have always been a fan and hope that he can start to do some damage. LIV is the right place for him because of the lack of cuts, so he is getting reps with players every tournament. this will help his return. And I cannot wait for the belt buckles to return. Focus on the golf but the marketing potential for AK is huge. I was so put off by how negative the golf channel were in trying to humiliate him and belittling the man. I'd like to remind them that their so called king is unable to get through the rounds due to illness. Golf needs more characters, and LIV understands that.
Man, give him a time!! he has not played at that level for 12 years!!!!! he will bounce back in few tournaments. I do not think he will win any tournament this year. but I expect him playing much better throughout the year!
I took 20 years off golf which coincided with the AK period, what LIV are doing for his soul is awesome. He certainly played some great shots in amongst some howlers, and a lot of average puts. I am sure by year end both will know if there is a future or not, he certainly will have down OK from a cost perspective.
He’s still got his aggressive putting speed. Once he gets reps in and gets back to fighting weight / strength he’ll be winning again. And at the least he will be successful on Champions tour. His swing is repeatable and easy on the body.
Hey he matched Westwood on his last round that for me would be a small victory knowing ive competed with at least somebody over 18 holes thats not had anytime off in the last 12 yrs. It will click im sure of that watching him. He does look rusty but i think its more a lack of confidence than anything once he scores abit better that will come back then he will start playing on instinct rather than thinking about what he is doing.
Awesome breakdowns of AKs rounds! Made it through his front nine last night before falling asleep and first thing I did when I woke up was check for your AK recap, thank you!!
Kim took 12 years off from a sport where if one even takes 12 days off, their level of play would drop and suffer considerably. The vast majority of approach shots Kim made during this LIV Golf tournament were clearly not up to professional caliber, and neither was his putting. Aside from a few half-decent tee shots with the driver, he looked nowhere near ready to play at a level resembling competitive golf, and looked far more like one of those reasonably talented "weekend golfer" types hacking around at a local municipal course. I would not have signed Kim to any kind of guaranteed contract, and feel that this was an unforced error on LIV Golf's part. This Kim experiment looks like it will end in failure. Even Matthew Wolff, who withdrew in the first round after only playing three holes, also now looks like he was a major mistake for LIV Golf.
Theirs really never any fans. I watch some of the tournament from Vegas. The final group with Dj, Bryson and forgot the other, had about as many people around it as a public course in California on the first tee
Man I just hope he finds his form and can at least be competitive. I'm making a lot of assumptions, but hearing others say he needed to "clean his act up" before he could commit and the obvious changes to his face, all sounds like he was at a very low point. This seems to be him pulling himself out of that and hopefully back on track. I'm all for redemption arcs.
I understand leaving the professional world of golf long ago, but did he completely just stop golfing? Did injuries keep him from golfing all these years? Either way I’m hoping he elevates his game if he sticks with this journey
This guy spends more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff-Shooter. Man AK cleans up those par putts. That draw on his last hole off the tee was all he needs 14 times a day. He seemed to leave a lot of irons short which imo is the main reason the scoring wasn’t lower. But I think the wind made for tricky approach shots which was the main reason scoring was not lower in general imo. He showed he can basically shoot under par 9 holes. It’s coming. Nice to have AK back and with 1 event under his belt, by pun intended. I’m ok with no belt phase. Like when Jordan changed his number. But if i remember right 23 made a comeback. We just need to stay tuned. See what happens.
In line with what you just said, there's a huge piece to this that I am missing. Soooooo a decade or more ago he played some stellar golf. For most normal human beings, to try and make pro golf, you have to seriously pay your dues. This guy decides he wants to come back and he is immediately on the big stage and sux. He is not anywhere near the other pros, but gets to play with them... and sux. Someone should have put him on a developmental plan just like any other aspiring golfer who wants to make the big tours. Fact is, he may always suck and this experiment may straight up fail.....
really appreciate your positive attitude and genuine interest in people doing well and bouncing back. big props
I remember a few years ago when work got super busy and I took a couple of years off from golf. When I started back, my confidence was high but the ball just didn’t do what it used to do. That was very eye opening and taught me a bunch of lessons about life and golf. Please keep these AK full round recaps coming!!!! It’s literally the only thing I search for when following LIV golf and you’re the only one doing it
That trouble shot from palm tree is incredible. Thanks a lot for posting AK rounds.
Classic AK that attacking mentality
First time in my life I'm interested in who finished last pace. Thanks for the video!!
That shot from behind the LIV sign was sick. Looking forward to watching him the rest of the season, and hopefully beyond.
It’s awesome seeing him back, give him time!
Thanks for covering AK this week. It's truly ain intriguing human story. I think he'll have to use Hong Kong as another warm up round before Miami where the media coverage and fans will be tenfold. Best of luck to AK for the rest of the season.
Great job Matt! Love the coverage.⛳️
Thank you for doing this. This has been awesome and we all appreciate you covering this! Looking forward to you doing the same in HK!
Well said
You're really out here comparing AK to Tiger lol. Take your meds.
@@wandringhobo4321 you're right. no one compares to AK
You were making great points until you mentioned Tiger. That was plain nonsense!
This is exactly what I was going to say. Once he got into his rounds he played well. I can see him doing well enough by the end of the year to be picked up by a team. Having a 'sponsors exemption' is great for him, great for LIV and IMHO great for viewers.
Love this coverage. Thank you!!!!Rooting for AK. I wanna get the LIV AK hat but they don’t sell it. 😂😂
Glad to hear positivity and encouragement to AK whilst others seem to put him down. We're rooting for you AK!
I am rooting for him. I will be watching LIV all season.
Thanks for this coverage - very much appreciated!
thanks for the AK watch recaps. looks like he's been battling the left ball a bit in his return. his go to shot when he played before was always the fade. have to think since this is his first event back, he also may not have his equipment quite dialed in, entire bag is new, with the exception of the button back newport2
I love seeing AK back , you tell a person away from a sport and is coming back in prime time fighting is lying .
He kind of looks like a hacker(style wise) which isn't very AK from the past.
Good point - was thinking that as well - seems like a much shorter swing than I remember from back in the day.
Rooting for AK, will be following for all the updates thanks
Thanks for doing these. Watched all three day recap of AK!!
hopefully he’s self aware enough to not break out belt buckle until he’s a contender … i say this as #1 AK fanboy
I was thinking the same
Good point
I’ve been waiting for the belt buckle too!!
Hope AK gets his eye back in. I don’t remember him from way back when. Life was busy then. I watched reruns of him when I heard about him. Great player. Great videos to mate…
Great job on the commentary.
I dig the coverage and respect the positivity.
If AK records a top 20 this year, that would be amazing, a top 10 would be unbelievable. A long way yo go, but good signs. Joaquin Niemann though, that man is on fire! Definitely has a chance in The Masters
I’m putting my money on Niemann hope a couple of the LIV guys can win majors this year
What good signs from finishing 33 strokes off the lead? That’s right, there are none.
Thanks for covering this. I'm curious to see how far he can get.
Keep up the AK watch for Hong Kong, this series is great!!
Shot on 13 was fantastic that is one of the hardest holes on tour difficult drive and hard approach shot
Please keep covering AK's progress. Totally rooting for him and I think he'll be doing much better end of the year. Have a feeling last few Liv events he won't be finishing last but him finishing mid field would be a stretch also.
When he's roaring' again we'll see the belt.
Who is his caddy?
Watching the real struggles of a professional golfer is more entertaining than only watching the highlights which are shown on the PGATOUR... The only thing that does is falsely portray how good the players actually are.

He didn't even know what a trackman was. I think DJ showed him how to use it. lol
great video. glad to see him playing competitively again!
Let's go AK!
Go AK!! Welcome back!!
Love the AK updates
Great Job covering A K.
AK is going to be as dangerous as when he first started on the PGA Tour. I bet Tiger will pass him a belt buckle. 😊
Imagine the tour back then with AK and Rickie Fowler
He's still bold. Gotta love AK!
I'm pulling for AK and I suspect we'll see an improvement in every event going forward. Go AK!!!
I was again, impressed. Just needs to sharpen his irons a little bit.
Love Anthony and wish him the best glad he's back
He’s waiting for his belly to get flat before he puts on a belt
Looking forward to see how AK history develops. Wish him the best
if anyone deserves an AK interview it’s you. i hope his publicist sees this and hits you up. thank you for being the voice in the darkness for him. everyone else just wants to tear him down.

I hope he gets with a swing coach if he hasn't already. Good coverage Pro.
Obviously he has a decade of rust to knock of so not bad all things considered.
I could be over analyzing here but the casual shorts, sneakers, and untucked shirt seems like it psychologically makes you not take it as seriously, and that may translate in the golf game.
Thank you for the past 3 days. I’m rooting for AK. You can tell he’s fighting demons out there. I can’t wait til he shakes em.
AK just needs tournament reps.
I didn't watch, but how far was he hitting drives? Curious if he still has speed after over a decade off. Super excited to see him improve as he gets back more reps
can we get a video about your thoughts on Phil's new lab putter and how it improved his short game?
Not bad for him from not playing for 12 years and then already saw improvements in 3 rounds.
The guy is finally hungry again.
Some crowds in Hong Kong will do wonders to his game, old AK may come out.

Splendid coverage Matt !!
More of the same in Hong Kong please 🙏

Your the man.
Didn't the tour not want him? At least, I think I heard that somewhere.
Keep up with the Ak content !
Really glad his third round was on a high note and his best round of the weekend 💥
Love people who sees the positive in everything.
Great review of the round. AK showed today that there is a player in there. It looks like the last 12 years have been rough. But I have always been a fan and hope that he can start to do some damage. The title of this video would make one think AK shot 67 and not 74. Good for him to secure the bag though.
I don't think he'll find it again, but I sure hope he proves me wrong.
Love the AK coverage but gotta let go of all the belt buckle talk.
I still can’t get the Kim group to load on LIV+, only round 1 would work. How are you getting his group to livestream on the app?
Subscribing because you are the only one bringing the AK watch
Man, give him a time!! he has not played at that level for 12 years!!!!! he will bounce back in few tournaments. I do not think he will win any tournament this year. but I expect him playing much better throughout the year!

Beautiful golf course
He’s still got his aggressive putting speed. Once he gets reps in and gets back to fighting weight / strength he’ll be winning again. And at the least he will be successful on Champions tour. His swing is repeatable and easy on the body.
Love this!
to be fair he putt quite well, just needed a couple to go for him, which they will
Great positive vibe that’s why I fellow
TBH LIVs squad - there is some strong players, didn't see that many darts thrown foot from the hole in a while..
I'm praying for AK and his family! Could someone please get him a belt.
Hey he matched Westwood on his last round that for me would be a small victory knowing ive competed with at least somebody over 18 holes thats not had anytime off in the last 12 yrs. Rockin some $800 Jordans.

Even Matthew Wolff, who withdrew in the first round after only playing three holes, also now looks like he was a major mistake for LIV Golf.
A bit better scoring to back up the swagger before the belt buckle appearance.
U r so positive 😂
I noticed he tries to work the ball both ways with his driver. He should focus on one way!
Theirs really never any fans. I watch some of the tournament from Vegas. The final group with Dj, Bryson and forgot the other, had about as many people around it as a public course in California on the first tee

Thoughts on Joaquín Niemann?
I understand leaving the professional world of golf long ago, but did he completely just stop golfing? Did injuries keep him from golfing all these years? Either way I’m hoping he elevates his game if he sticks with this journey
so I guess im a "little off " from competing on liv ???
His body language is not great, I hope that changes and he sharpens up his game, mind and demeanor, he can be great again I'm sure.
DOes he have the same Caddie from back in the day?
No. He currently has a childhood friend caddying for him
This guy spends more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff-Shooter.
He looks like a weekend golfer.
In line with what you just said, there's a huge piece to this that I am missing. Soooooo a decade or more ago he played some stellar golf.
