It is not coaching that Gilas need. They have great players and better than most other team. They also have a great coach. What Gilas needs is Size. The reason why US lost in Fiba against European team was because of lacking in size. Even though US as you know are great and better players. When it comes to international competition, it is not how good you can score, It is how good you can defend the other team. That requires size.
CTC did great job considering this is just the beginning of his program expect more wins and losses or ups and downs along the way, what important is Continuity, Chemistry and familiarity of the system that his trying to run, let him do his job it’s a long process and CTC knows what is best for his team trying to form, Great Job so far CTC, will continue to support Gilas under coach Tim👏🇵🇭💪🔥❤️

Naintindihan ko na gusto ng small pool para walang ma-cut. Kaso sobrang undermanned pag nagkasabay-sabay na injured tulad ng nangyari ngayon. Pero maganda yung suggestion ni Snow Badua at Dodo Cacanando sa No Cooking Show nila na yung iba ay sabihan na reserved players lang sila talaga at makapasok lang kung sakali may ma-injured. Kahit 17-20 players sana. Ibang big man na pwede sana idagdag sila Ken Tuffin at Kenmark Carino, dagdag na din Francis Lopez from UAAP. Kung pwede twice a month mag-train ang reserves ng triangle offense under coach Tim kasama ng SMB at GSM boys. Nun daw time nila Allan Caidic sa national team, may training sila every week so maganda i-consider din yung ganun para di naman kulang ang players pag may na-injured.
matigas ulo nya, di ko gets at all yung 11 man pool, sasayangin mo yung 1 slot dahil lang sa pride. Yung 1 slot malaki magagawa nun kung wala ka nang maahugot at nagkakalat na lahat, at pang relyebo kay JMF.

Now moving forward, we have to take care of the world cup. We have a better chance of getting to the olympics if we finish as the best asian country of the tournament. With Gilas' recent performances, expectations will be higher. Hopefully, they will continue to improve.

European league has 6'8 guards. In order to compete against the European players, you have to have the size as well as good players. It is true that in the NBA there are great players who are 6'2 or 6'4 or even 5'll. But these players who are exceptionally talented chosen out of the millions.
@@federicobaena9405 in a perfect world, we would love to have what you said. But i don't think we currently have those kinds of guards locally. They will be a C or PF here. Unless, we have filams who played in the US or overseas. My statement is based on what we have right now. I think they are now able to develop a system that can compete and win. It just needs more polishing. At the end of the day, we have to play with the cards we're dealt with and hope that we'll get a favorable matchup.

Also soccer is another sports that we should be looking at. I am not saying that we should abandon basketball, but soccer is something we should be pushing to kids at a younger age. If only those soccer fields are as available everywhere as a basketball court, then maybe the interest in the grassroots level will improve. Plus, we can't watch these games on our local TV, they aren't available. So for now, I think football isn't going to have traction in the PH. Hopefully in the next generation.

Half the size of a full court basketball length would do. Soccer is suitable for poorer countries the small countries in South America.

its so refreshing to see the scores, these europeans and americas team used to beat us by 50 plus points, it would be a close game, if our 7 footer wasnt injured. its only 10 man, abando wouldve helped a lot i dont know the issue why cant we get abando, justine baltazar too in place of japeth, perez is incosistent but he hustles hard for the ball.
Coach Tim needs to bluff teams into the triangle.. specially with teams like Brazil who scouted them well.. Bluff, for example, do a double screen, fake drive, then kick out, then go into triangle.. or maybe do a horns on top, pass into the weak side then do off ball screens, then into the triangle.. This way, the guys will have fun running these schemes, specially with over thinking teams 😅😂
4 yrs fr now, japet , browlee & abai might not b available, start looking for their replacements. i still think that vacant 12th spot should hv been filled up, Slaughter mau have help vs euro teams coach
what if you add variations to the triangle offense to be prepared for our next opponents im pretty sure other asian teams watched our game against brazil and they will do the exact same thing.
For the SEA games I believe we will have less players. Kai, Dwight, Edu, and Tamayo won't be able to suit up for the NT for sure because of on going season in Japan or Korea. Hugot sa Ginebra I think.
Im 100% agree you cannot go to FIBA and fought any Team there without carrying a complete Lineup of GILAS PILIPINAS 😊 players that is Capable to WIN, compete with those European Strong and Best Basketball which some of them play in the NBA... The game with Team Brazil prove that when Kai couldn't plat becauseof unexpected Injury by a Georgina player.
Problem with the PBA coach, they stick to the aging PBA players for the Gilas Team, if the program is for long preparation for next international games, the coach should start considering having younger potential players in his team instead relying on PBA players most likely prone to injury.
i think caelum harris is a good option,6'6,athletic,young,high flyer,can do anything,he needs to practice his shooting ,but he is definitely a better shooter than francis lopez,he is a good young guy that should be included in gilas future with kai,quiambao,tamayo.ramos

He brought an 11-man pool, and the 1 slot he refused could make a difference. He wants a 7-footer guy, so why not include Slaughter instead that could fill in the gap, he once played with his system with Japeth, he is effective in the triangle, a good backup in case there is an injury, and could be a game-changer vs. those strong physical centers of Brazil somehow... I don't agree with his point of view, simple as you have the privilege to get 1 more and you are not maximizing the opportunity. Tigas ulo din ni Coach. Another thing, Brazil's Coach said in an interview they were ready/prepared to counter his triangle system and yet he had no backup plan in case the opponent read their ball movement. Gilas would have a big problem sooner vs. the Euro or Latin teams if this mindset continues. Real talk lang. I preferred Nenad or Baldwin who are more flexible instead of Tim Cone.

They need to improve their defense against european teams but they surprise us because theyre playing in semis and they have a chance to go to finals but they lose but its ok because i see their improvements as a team and congrats again gilas 🇵🇭

Coach Tim needs to bluff teams into the triangle.. specially with teams like Brazil who scouted them well..
Bluff, for example, do a double screen, fake drive, then kick out, then go into triangle.. or maybe do a horns on top, pass into the weak side then do off ball screens, then into the triangle..
This way, the guys will have fun running these schemes, specially with over thinking teams 😅😂

what if you add variations to the triangle offense to be prepared for our next opponents im pretty sure other asian teams watched our game against brazil and they will do the exact same thing.

Problem with the PBA coach, they stick to the aging PBA players for the Gilas Team, if the program is for long preparation for next international games, the coach should start considering having younger potential players in his team instead relying on PBA players most likely prone to injury.

i think caelum harris is a good option,6'6,athletic,young,high flyer,can do anything,he needs to practice his shooting ,but he is definitely a better shooter than francis lopez,he is a good young guy that should be included in gilas future with kai,quiambao,tamayo.ramos

I don't agree with his point of view, simple as you have the privilege to get 1 more and you are not maximizing the opportunity. Tigas ulo din ni Coach. Another thing, Brazil's Coach said in an interview they were ready/prepared to counter his triangle system and yet he had no backup plan in case the opponent read their ball movement.
