Bucharest doesn’t need to be the Little Paris, Bucharest is Bucharest, and this is better.
.. It was built after Paris, alot of french architects were invited to build the city.
Romanians wanted it to be the little Paris because they wanted to show that they are latins, not slavic like their neighbours.
Also there were the french obsession back in the time, people used french words or accents while speaking romanian.

I think it's more about the culture and less about the architecture .After all Romania was a Francophone country.
A lot of people were educated in France
@@tednicholson4901 True.
Well Bucharest was built like this as a sign to "Hey guys, we are latins!" to promote national pride and identity.
Also today romanians in Transylvania are very proud of their saxon heritage in architecture. Romania is multicultural and that's why it's very beautiful, here living in peace people with some of the oldest cultures in the world.
@@user-ly1fk9kk9d i know that a lot of romanians built paris.
@@user-ly1fk9kk9d It's sad tough that most of the beautiful old buildings were destroyed during comunism and in their place they built those ugly, massive, grey buildings.
No, Paris is the big Bucharest

@Wylde Wylde I wonder if I'll ever come to comment sections with my fellow Romanians involved, and not see any toxic, own country hating pricks. One day maybe, one day...
*Paris center = 110 ² Km, Bucharest center = 220 ² Km (Wikipedia) , Mexico - City total arial = 2.700 ² Km, Bucharest total arial = 5.600 ² Km, today Bucharest is the largest city in the world , (Wikipedia) !*
I just returned from an eleven day visit to Romania, and could not get enough of it. It is a wonderfully beautiful country with friendly people and delicious, unpretentious food. Bucharest is majestic with stunning architecture and grand boulevards. But sadly there is a shocking amount of hideous graffiti almost everywhere. The city fathers MUST educate its citizens to take greater pride in their city and preserve and celebrate, rather than degrade and demean its glorious architectural legacy. I can't wait to return and see more of the country!
Sadly, you are right.
I believe it's because graffiti is legal, which honestly I don't have a problem with, but I wish all the new artists would practice at home first. You can tell if you keep visiting the same ones, the artists will always return to cover over it and do it better.
OMG im starting to love this place bcoz of ur Vlogs 😍😍😍 Such a lovely place to visit.
Bucharest is certainly underrated city. Hope you do one day.❤
Thank u so much Rachel and Nick more beautiful vlogs to see on ur channel 🥰🥰🥰 I will do soon when i reach in Europe soon ❤️
@@joandexplorer400 it s not so nice to live in
Mr. mystery but why?
@@joandexplorer400 romanian people doesnt like Bucharest because is to crowdy and expensive. Thats why he said that probably. I am romanian too, i live in the middle of Transylvania where the prices and life a different than Bucharest.
Rachel and Nick, you make your vlogs so intimate. I love the shots of Nick scurrying across street with his hipster vibe! And Rachel, so Parisienne chic!
haha Thanks Paul! 😂❤
OMG, French Revolution have the best eclairs ever!!!! The ingredients are all fresh and organic and the taste is like nothing else! The price yes, some may say is a bit high but the quality is amazing! You just didn't pick the best flavor but they are the best.
Stunning video... thank you for sharing this with us
Thank you for enjoying the video. ❤
Im from Romania and im happy you like bucharest
next time you are in Romania visit Timisoara also called Little Vienna and in 2021 the cultural capital of Europe

Price was a little steep but was yum 😋 And yeah the architecture really reminded us of Paris 😊
Prices are the same as in paris too bro 😅
Nice video! You made me proud that i was born and raised here! What is the name of the intro music?
its very rare that someone actually likes the country, its hard to say why since i never actually traveled deeper into it other then where i live but im glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks we loved it 😊
Are you insane? Romania is considered one of the prettiest country in europe and even world, how could you ever didn't like it?
@@vladmihai6067 He's probably talking about why the citizens hate it and thats mostly politics and how evolved other countries are compared to us, at least I hope he's talking about that lol Romania is way too beautiful
Intresting video and beautiful setting. The food look great. I want to go there some day.

@@angheldorin9768 stiu ca is turistii !!
That area is the oId town aka Lipscani.. It used to be bigger in the past.. but they wanted to build new buildings so that area shrinked in time till what it is now 😂 (they stopped at where it is now). Its a part of our history and usually attracts tourists (so they needed to still keep a part of it). Sadly we didnt build more buildings like the ones from there.
Usually eclairs aren't that big,as in,don't have that much on top just a cream and cream inside, chocolate or vanilla, and are much cheaper.I think you stumbled upon a fancy place that's why it cost so much.
Da, micul Paris ❤
I think you don't even notice. But Bucharest had a lot of streets in french names. And the emblem logo is the same as in Paris!
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yep.. It's very French in character, history and architecture
whos watching this only to be happy that people around the world love our country!
Rachel is so, sincerely, charming and lovely ( ...actually you *both* are, but... ) she was much too polite and gracious to r e a l l y slag-off that - apparently none-too impressive - pastry, towards vlog's end ({; D ...! The HD, photographic/'videographic/cinamatographic', clarity and quality of this video is amazing, btw - and, the editing is equally flawless! And yes, for sure: Bucuresti truly is an absolutely g o r g e o u s city; it's such a pity that - from what i understand, and which the internet confirms - sadly, it continues to be (as, evidently, does Romania in general) a quite 'lgbtqi-phobic' place, despite having (grudgingly...?) affected s o m e legislative changes in that area, in order to comply with at least *minimal* standard EU membership requirements: "just sayin'...." ~Fabulous video/vlog, this - 'nonetheless' ({: D ...!!!
Thanks you for your lovely words for us. You're so sweet always

Bucharest is not Little Paris. Paris is Little Bucharest
Unfortunately during the dictatorship of Ceausescu many of the buildings in Bucharest that made it the little Paris of the east were demolished and replaced with horrendously ugly concrete buildings. old town is the only part that would have resembled what Bucharest as a whole would have looked like if not demolished by Ceausescu. people in Bucharest would actually transport old Church's to other parts of the city in fear that they were going to be demolished and replaced with the ugly grey buildings, I have no idea how they did it but they attached the church to rails and moved them like that. it really saddens me, I would have loved to see how Bucharest looked like originally to be named the little Paris of the east.
Yeah I read about how they moved old buildings. Amazing. Would have loved to see the Old Bucharest

No, Paris is the Little Bucharest !
Bucharest is not Paris. Bucharest is Bucharest. It’s way better than Paris. Be yourself and stop comparing yourself to other cities.
