In some cases waste from humans, animals etc. end up in a river. Some of the rivers water is recycled back for human consumption. Some evaporate to the clouds and recycled as rain.
So, whenever you drink water you will be drinking water that contain some parts that are from the poop or urine of someone.

I almost died from overgrowth (bacteria, yeast, etc) after lots of antibiotics for MRSA, and my gut/ brain haven't been even 10% of what they were before getting sick.
After feeling like death every time you eat, and having everything exit you, like an extreme faucet within hours of eating, you would do just about anything for an improvement.
A FMT is on my wish list- but in the U.S you have to almost die from c-diff multiple times, and it's around $15k last time I checked to have it done in other places :( (But would likely give me my life back).

This is why human babies need to feed directly from mom after birth; humans, like cows, produce colostrum for about a week after birth (with traces for some weeks after), and this provides the baby with immune system microbes. Breastfeeding, while it might make some of us uncomfortable (including me, and especially in public), is still very important for the health of the future of our species.
